Genin Days (2): Team 7

Today was finally the day Sarah gets placed on a Genin team and needless to say she was excited. She didn't know what team she would be placed in or who her Jonin sensei would be; hopefully her teammates and sensei won't be a bunch of fucking idiots who would get her dragged into more trouble. That would be a nice change from her usual norm of having to put up with Naruto's shenanigans. She loved the blonde dearly but some days he was a pain in the ass to deal with.

Sarah sat down beside Naruto at a desk and looked around the room. She noticed a few of her classmates were there waiting to be placed on their respective Genin teams.

"Hm, where's Haruno Sakura?" Sarah asked as she looked around for the pinkette. She already knew the answer to her question, she just wanted to feign innocence in front of everyone.

"Oh forehead failed the graduation exam so she's having to redo the year," a familiar voice responded.

Ino Yamanaka was quite the beauty if Sarah had to say so for herself. Long blonde hair, crystal blue eyes, absolute confidence; her only downside would be the fact that she had a MAJOR crush on Sasuke Uchiha, another boy who was in her graduating class. She and Sakura Haruno were bitter rivals, always trying to out-do the other in any way they could.

Sarah never understood the appeal in having a rivalry. She would just rather stick to her textbooks and focus on improving her skills over crushing on people. Knowing that Sakura failed the graduation exams must mean that she wasn't ready to become a Genin, which was a shame considering how much potential the girl had (not like she had anything to do with it).

"Ah, that sucks," Sarah responded, "Send her my condolences."

"I'm surprised that Naruto is even here," another boy in their graduating class, Shikamaru Nara, said as he walked over towards their table, "Didn't you also fail the graduation exam?"

"Hey, I just graduated late is all!" Naruto exclaimed as he pointed up to the Leaf headband sitting on top of his forehead, "Don't you see this headband? It means that I'm an official ninja of the Leaf!"

Shikamaru just looked at him with the most bored expression on his face.

"How can I put it; this headband really does suit me!" Naruto grinned as Sarah just rolled her eyes. At least he's having fun.

Sarah watched as a bunch of girls, Ino included, started to surround Sasuke's table. Sasuke seemed unbothered by this, trying to keep a level head and aloof expression on his face. She couldn't say the same thing for Naruto, who immediately hopped onto Sasuke's table and began staring at the raven up close.

"Oh great, here we go again," Sarah thought. Judging by the expression on both of their faces, it seems a bitter rivalry was in the makings.

Another boy brushed up against Naruto's back, forcing the duo into an awkward kiss. Sarah bursted out laughing, watching everyone's horrified expressions from around them. This was comedic to her; Naruto and Sasuke kissing. Sarah suddenly wished she had a camera now so she could capture this moment and use it for blackmail. That would be great.

The two boys immediately started gagging. Sarah continued to laugh hysterically as she watched all the girls scream in terror over their crush's first kiss being stolen by Uzumaki Naruto out of all people.

"Not funny Sarah-chan!" Naruto exclaimed as he pointed up at her.

"Then why did you get up close to his face to begin with, ne?" Sarah asked him.

"I-I was just observing, that's all!" Naruto defended himself.

Sarah rolled her eyes, "Sure didn't seem like it."

"Sarah-chan you meanie!" Naruto said as Sarah grinned from ear to ear.

"Stupid Naruto, I'm going to kill you for this!" Sasuke thought as he watched the two bicker.

Eventually the room quieted down and everyone headed over to their respective seats. Iruka walked in the room and began assigning everyone to their respective Genin teams. When it got down to which squad she'll be on, she heard two familiar names come out of Iruka's mouth.

"Squad 7 will be Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke, and Sarah."

Oh so she was on a team with both Naruto and Sasuke. It looks like her team will be filled with a bunch of idiots after all..

"Next up is Squad 8: Hyuga Hinata, Inuzuka Kiba, and Aburame Shino."

Sarah could already hear Hinata pout about not being on the same team as Naruto.

"Squad 10: Ino Yamanaka, Akamichi Chouji, and Shikamaru Nara."

The next generation of InoShikaCho? Interesting..

"And that will be it for the squad assignments!" Iruka announced.

"Iruka-sensei!" Naruto shouted as he pointed over towards Sasuke, "Why does an exceptional student like me have to be in the same group with this guy?"

Sarah deadpanned. Oh great, Naruto was already causing trouble and they haven't even been on the same team for five minutes. Typical.

"Sasuke had the best grades among the graduates. Naruto, you were at the bottom," Iruka responded as he looked at the blonde with a stern expression on his face.

Sarah could hear people laughing in the classroom. What a bunch of assholes.

"Just don't get in my way, losers," Sasuke said without looking at either Naruto or Sarah.

Sarah just flipped him off, "Go pound some sand, asshole."

"Yeah, what Sarah said!" Naruto added on.

"Do you both want to fight?" Sasuke asked the duo.

Sarah cracked her knuckles, "Bring it on, húndàn!"

"Yeah, what she said!" Naruto responded as he stood up in his chair, "We'll kick your ass right here and now!"

Iruka sighed as he looked at the class, "Naruto, Sarah, Sasuke, cut it out! Now, in the afternoon you all will be introduced to your respective Jonin senseis. You're dismissed until then!"

Sarah watched as all her classmates left the classroom. Naruto and Sasuke were busy glaring daggers at each other, so Sarah decided to use this as a prime opportunity to sneak off and go grab some Chinese food.

"Tián tián do měiwèi wǒ láile!" Sarah happily exclaimed as she made her way over towards her favorite Chinese restaurant, "One bowl of baozi please! Make it extra stuffed too!"

The waiter nodded as she wrote down Sarah's order, making her way over towards the kitchen. Sarah grinned as she happily admired the scenery around her. She was officially a Genin of the Hidden Leaf, albeit assigned to a team full of idiots.

"Grr I'll show that Sasuke Uchiha who's the boss around here!" Sarah thought as a bowl full of steamed pork buns was set in front of her, "I'll show them all that I'm not some weak little girl anymore!"

Once Sarah got finished and paid for her food, she headed back to the academy and into the mostly empty classroom. Sasuke didn't look very amused, Naruto on the other head was beaming at the sight of her.

"Sarah-Chan, I thought you'd never make it back!" Naruto said as he ran up to her, "You're a whole hour late!"

"Cha?!?" Sarah exclaimed as she looked up at the clock. Holy shit she really was late.

"Our sensei hasn't came by yet," Naruto said as he began to prepare something, "So I'm thinking we should teach them a lesson..."

"Er..I don't think that's such a good idea Naruto," Sarah said as she watched the boy place an eraser on top of the door.

"That'll teach him not to be late," Naruto said as he hopped off the stool.

Sarah shrugged, "Do whatever, I don't really care. When you get in trouble for that though don't come running to me for help."

Before Sarah could say anything, the trio heard someone place their hand onto the door handle. They all looked towards the door and saw what was presumably their Jonin sensei opening the door, the silver haired man getting bonked on the head with the eraser.

Naruto bursted out laughing, pointing a finger at the man while Sarah smirked. Sasuke seemed like he couldn't care less about what was going on, his mind seemingly being clouded by something.

The man picked up the eraser off of the floor and looked at it with a disinterested expression on his face, "Hm...how can I say this: my first impression of you guys...Well, I hate you."

Sarah just looked at the man as if he had just killed her pet cat, "What the fuck?"

Little did she know, this moment was going to change the course of her life forever....
