Chuunin Exams (1): Intruders

"Eat shit sucker!" Sarah shouted as she slammed her fist into Naruto's face.

Today was just an ordinary day for team seven. They did chores around the estate, finished up some D-ranked missions, and trained with their sensei.

Life has been a lot better since they all moved in together. The trio has been going to therapy, their teamwork has improved, and Kakashi is even thinking about signing them up for the upcoming Chuunin exams.

"Great job Sarah! Your strength has improved since the last time you two dueled," Kakashi commented.

     Sarah smiled, "Thanks!"

Naruto was lying on the ground heavily beaten and bruised. Between Sarah and Sasuke, he didn't know who would be nicer to him during their sparring sessions. Both of them were incredibly strong and skilled, compared to him who was currently falling behind.

Sarah bent down and started to heal Naruto's bruises, "Hey Naruto, you did good today."

"Thanks Sarah-chan!" Naruto responded, "Could you maybe not punch me in the face next time?"

"I make no promises," Sarah grinned as she sat Naruto's nose back in place. Naruto yelped in pain.

"That fucking hurts!" Naruto rubbed his nose as Sarah finished tending to his wounds.

"How can you ever become Hokage if you're not able to tolerate pain well?" Sasuke asked.

"I'll fucking numb myself to pain in order to become Hokage, believe it!" Naruto declared as he did his signature peace sign.

"You can't just numb yourself to pain, dobe." Sasuke pointed out.

"I can and I will! Just watch me do it, teme!" Naruto retorted.

Kakashi sighed, "Don't do anything stupid Naruto."

"I'm not though." Naruto poured as he got off the ground.

"Hmm...well there is actually a way to numb yourself to pain," Sarah grabbed a small scroll from her bag and pulled out a jar of venom, "Just drink some of this and it should do the trick!"

"Sarah, where the hell did you get that?" Kakashi asked.

Sarah shrugged, "You'd be surprised at what my summons bring back to me. Dead snakes are quite beneficial in more ways than one."

"So if I drink this then I'll become completely immune to pain?" Naruto asks her.

Sarah nodded, "Yep. Not giving it to you though since it is a type of poison."

     Naruto pouted.

Sarah slipped the jar back into her scroll, "Trust me it's not worth it."

"Ugh! How am I suppose to become Hokage if I can't even become immune to pain, much less be able to take you and the teme down in battle?" Naruto exclaimed.

"Hmm..I think it's about time I incorporate jutsus into our training," Kakashi said as he dug into his bag. He pulls out three chakra induction papers, "Channel your chakra into this piece of paper and it'll tell you what your chakra nature is."

Naruto and Sasuke took a piece of paper. Sarah on the other hand refused.

     "That won't be necessary!"

     "Why not?" Kakashi asked.

     "It just isn't," Sarah responded.

"Come on Sarah-chan, don't you want to know your own chakra type?" Naruto asked her.

     Sarah shrugged, "Nope."

"Alright then," Kakashi clapped his hands, "Let's see your chakra type boys."

Naruto and Sasuke funneled their chakra into the papers. Naruto's sliced to pieces while Sasuke's crumbled up and then caught on fire. Sarah stared at the two in awe.

She doesn't have chakra, relying solely on her mana to fight. Her mana type is healing, which is quite ironic considering she's more of a fighter than a sideline medic. Regardless she has other alternatives she uses for combat, such as her seals.

Chakra was just so fascinating to her. It worked similarly to mana but yet was completely different. Perhaps if she were to find a workaround and somehow replicate certain jutsus with her mana, not only would it be groundbreaking it would also become beneficial in combat.

For now Sarah ignores the sense of contempt brewing as she watches her teammates get excited over learning their chakra types. Kakashi promised to teach them some new jutsus in the meantime, or in her case improve on her combat skills.

"You can't rely on cheap tricks forever.."

"Gosh that mission was fucking terrible!" Naruto exclaimed as he walked alongside his two teammates through the village.

"It wasn't that bad, you're just exaggerating." Sasuke glared at him, "Besides if you keep complaining then sensei will just continue to sign us up for more D-ranks."

"Mhm. If I have to do D-ranks and community service hours for the next two days then you can suck it up and deal with Tora for a few hours," Sarah said before noticing a giant box nearby, "Uhm...who the hell is following us around?"

Naruto looked over and noticed it was Konohamaru and his friends, "Hold on a few seconds."

Sarah and Sasuke watched as Naruto walked over and began pointing at the blatantly obvious disguise.

"What kind of rock is square with two holes?!? I can see right through that!" Naruto shouted as he pointed down at the box.

Konohamaru lifted up the box and pointed Naruto out to his friends, "There's the man I view as my rival!"

"Rival?" Sarah looked over at Sasuke.

Sasuke shrugged, "I didn't know the dobe had it in him to become a sensei."

"Especially to the Hokage's grandson..." Sarah scratched her chin as she watched the group chat for a bit, "They must really idolize him."

"Hn." Sasuke responded.

Konohamaru then pointed over at Sarah, "Boss who's this girl? Is she your girlfriend?"

"Nope," Naruto responded, "She's my best friend. Sarah-chan, Teme, meet my student Konohamaru and his two friends, Udon and Moegi."

"Hi!" Sarah waved.

"What's with the scar on your face?" Konohamaru asked, "And why is your hair purple?"

Sarah's eye twitched.

"I don't think that's an appropriate question to be asking someone," Sasuke responded as he stepped in front of Sarah.

"Wow, are you the last Uchiha?" Moegi asked him.

"Of course he's the last Uchiha. He has the family crest on the back of his uniform," Udon pointed out.

"Hn." Sasuke didn't pay no mind to the three children.

"Gee boss, you sure do know a lot of influential people," Konohamaru praised.

Naruto scratched the back of his head, "Heheh..."

"Hey boss, wanna race and see who's the fastest?" Konohamaru asked.

"Yeah! I'll beat you for sure, believe it!" Naruto responded.

"Alright, let's start now!" Konohamaru shouted as he and his friends began running. Naruto ran behind them.

"Should we follow them?" Sarah asked as she looked over at Sasuke.

Sasuke nodded, "Knowing the dobe, he'll get himself caught up in trouble."

"Fair point," Sarah responded as both she and Sasuke took off after their friend.

The duo stopped when she saw Naruto, Konohmaru, and his friends get caught up in a conflict with two foreign ninjas. The foreign ninja picked up Konohamaru by the shirt and was tempted to do something before he was stopped by his female teammate.

"Don't. We'll get yelled at later."

In typical Naruto fashion, he got himself involved.

"Hey fatass, let go of him!"

Sarah rushed up towards the group and punched the ground underneath them. The two foreign ninjas jumped back, the male letting go of Konohamaru. Naruto swept in and caught Konohamaru.

"It's not nice to pick on the weak you know," Sarah said as she flipped her hair.

"Hm, I guess you Leaf Genins aren't exactly that weak after all," the male said as he looked at Sarah, "She might be stronger than you Temari."

The girl, Temari, shrugged, "I doubt so. She looks like a twig, especially with that ridiculous purple hair of hers."

"Cha?!?" Sarah exclaimed as a tick mark appeared on her face.

Sasuke sighed as he watched the encounter from up in a nearby tree, "On days like this I wish I wasn't assigned on a team with two hotheads..."

"Call me a twig again and I'll kick your ass!" Sarah said as she cracked her knuckles.

"And I'll make you pay for almost hurting Konohamaru," Naruto shouted as he pointed over at the male.

"Bring it," the male gestured for the two to fight.

Sasuke simply threw some pebbles at the group, "What are you bastards doing in our village?"

Sarah sighed in relief. She could always count on Sasuke to deescalate the situation.

"Ah..another person who pisses me off. Great." The male scoffed as he looked up at Sasuke.

     "Get lost," Sasuke responded.

"Uhm...Sasuke..." Sarah spoke up, "I think they're here for the Chuunin exams."

She had completely forgotten about the Chuunin exams. People from all across the shinobi nations would be coming here and taking the exam here in Konoha. That would explain why Suna-nin were here in the village.

     Sasuke raised an eyebrow, "Hm?"

"Yeah we are. What are you going to do about it?" The male said as he set whatever was on his back on the ground, "You wanna fight or something?"

"Kankuro stop it! Do you really want us to get kicked out of here before we even get a chance to become Chuunin?" Temari reprimanded him.

     Kankuro rolled his eyes.

"You better listen to Temari," a voice said from nearby.

Sasuke looked back and noticed a red-haired boy hanging down from a tree branch with his feet. He gave off a very menacing aura, similar to that of Itachi Uchihas.

"Stop now before you further embarrass our village."

"How did he manage to get up there without any of us noticing?" Sarah thought as she stared at the boy.

     "G-Gaara..." Kankuro chuckled.

"Loosing control of yourself in a fight? How pathetic." Gaara stared at him coldly, "Keep it up and I'll kill you."

     Kankuro gulped.

"What are your names?" Gaara asked as he looked over at both Sasuke and Sarah.

Sarah raised an eyebrow, "And why should we give you our names? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of anonymity?"

"Fair point," Gaara responded as he used some sort of strange substance to transport himself down the tree and behind his teammates. It looked like...sand?

"Hey what about me? Aren't you going to ask for my name too?" Naruto asked.

"Not interested." Gaara responded as he gestured for his teammates to follow behind him, "Lets go."

"Gee, what an asshole." Naruto scoffed as he crossed his arms.

"You sure got that right boss," Konohamaru responded.

"You still think I'm cool, right?" Naruto asked him.

Konohamaru responded, "Not as cool as your teammates, but yes."

Naruto felt dejected, "Beaten by my own two teammates...Embaressing."

"Cheer up Naruto, I'm sure you'll become cooler than us someday," Sarah said, "After all, you're going to become our future Hokage."

"Hn." Sasuke responded.

"That's right!" Naruto exclaimed, "I'll become the coolest Hokage out there and master a shit-ton of jutsus, then I'll show that asshole who's the superior one here. Believe it!"

"We'll be right there to support you," Sarah cheered him on.

Sasuke shrugged, "Might as well."

"Anyways, I'm going to go teach my students some super cool ninja moves I learnt on our mission. I'll be back home later!" Naruto shouted before running off with Konohamaru and his crew.

"So..." Sasuke looked over at Sarah, "How much do you want to bet that Sensei signed us up for the Chuunin exams?"

"Oh it's not a bet, I already know he did." Sarah knew her sensei well by now; perverted but is always trying to give his students equal opportunities to accomplish their dreams. If taking the Chuunin exams was what they teammates wanted to do, then who was she to hold them back.

"Mhm. Wanna go break into the library and copy some scrolls? We need to learn some new jutsus if we're going up against those three in the exams," Sasuke asked.

Sarah nodded as she pulled a scroll out from her bag, "Let's go."
