The First Dance Practice With The Warflowers

"Are you freaking kidding me?" I said as I paced back and forth in my dorm. "The Warflowers! Damn I can't get away from these boys,"

Kristen's eyes followed my tiring pacing. "Wow, dude this is just so bizarre, like what are the odds?"

I shrugged and rested my head on the wall behind me. I pressed my back to the wall and slid down. Kristen came next to me and did the same.

"I'm going to have to back out," I sighed. An opportunity like this seems amazing and had it been any other musician I would have never backed out. It would look amazing on my resume and being a famous person's choreographer would be so cool. Although, I don't want all the unwanted and unneeded stress of the Warflowers. I saw enough of that at the audition.

"Do you ever think it's fate?" Kristen asked. Typical her and her astrology obsessed self.

I shrugged and sighed, "I don't know.. I just don't want to be miserable my first semester,"

"Honestly Merry, I get it but I need you to take your mind off everything that haooedn in the last couple days and think of the bigger picture. If you choreograph for one of the world's biggest boy bands, your whole life could be changed. You could be the choreographer you always wanted to be and drop stupid criminal justice," she explained.

Everything she said did make sense but I just felt exhausted. I never really had to ever deal with boy drama. I had one boyfriend ages ago but it was not like this. I didn't feel like doing anything.

Kristen studied my face. "Fine, just let the someone else take the position and become a huge well known choreographer,"

A pit in my stomach formed, I didn't want that either.

Kristen continued, "if you ever want to be a choreographer, you need to be professional,"

She was right and at that moment I knew that this would be one of the things I would regret not doing in I didn't do this.

I walked into the dance studio with immense butterflies in my stomach, to my surprise there was somebody already there. It was Eli. I proceeded across the room.

"Hey, not gonna even greet me?" he mocked, with a slight smirk. I could tell he had been here for a while with the beads of sweet trickling down his shaggy brown hair. His green eyes twinkled, I looked at them for a second. They looked like they could be so sweet and longing but instead they were harsh and cold. "Hello, are you mesmerized in my eyes?" he mocked.

I scoffed, "as if." I dropped my bag on the floor. "Have you been practicing?" I asked.

"Maybe," he said softly smiling and looking down, then slowly up back at me. That was probably the most adorable thing ever.

"Okay," I said softly.

Seconds later, Rolan and the other boys walked in. Rolan burst into smile as he locked eyes with me.

"Hey, Merry!" Rolan exclaimed. He rushed over to me excitedly snd spread his arms. It honestly felt nice for someone to be that excited to see me. The other boys didn't know me much at all so it felt good that Rolan was here.

I embraced him in the hug and he dug his head into my shoulder. I looked across his shoulder and Eli rolled his eyes pursing his lip.

"Lets. Get. A. Move. On," Eli snapped.

Rolan and I jolted away and I saw the other boys whispering and laughing.

"Okay everyone, let's start with a combo to see where you're at," I announced.

I began teaching the combo and took breaks in between. They were doing fairly well. As I started to teach the next steps, Rolan interrupted me.

"Merry, can you um-help me with these steps?" he asked, looking at me with his big puppy brown eyes.

"Sure," I said. I walked over to him and adjusted his body and ran through it with him. I must've took a bit of time because Eli stood next to closing his eyes in annoyance.

"Um-Miss Merry," Eli said annoyed.

"Yeah," I said scrunching my eyebrows, he was obviously trying to arise anger in me by saying "miss."

"I also need help," he said sarcastically.

"I'll teach the next steps soon, give me a minute," I said, sensing his impatience.

"That's not what I said, I said I need help," he snapped back.

I sighed and walked over to him.  I could tell that he knew the moves but I wan't about to argue.

"Bro, you know it, I actually need help," Rolan said raising an eyebrow.

"And you think, I don't?" he snapped.

I sighed.

"Mer- just come help me, let him be an idiot."  Rolan said, softly.

I was a bit tempted and I turned to him.

"I said I need help!" Eli exclaimed, as he grabbed my wrist to prevent me from leaving.

The next couple seconds happened so fast it was a blur.

Rolan's face turned bright red and I saw him rush towards me. The next thing I knew Rolan's fist was in Eli's eye and Eli punched Rolan in the stomach. They were attacking each other. The other boys were yelling "Stop," and I tried to get between them.

Kellen, the blonde softie of the Warflowers urged me to go back. "You'll get hurt," he said.

But, what about the  two boys getting hurt right infant of me?

About a minute later, Rolan stepped back. His lip was gushing blood and Eli was on the floor holding his eye with his shirt.

Rolan rushed out of the room and slammed the door. Eli stayed frozen on the floor.

I had a choice. Do I follow Rolan or do I stay here with Eli?
