Chapter 6: Pour The Chips

"Who's ready for the party-?!" Calum woke everyone in the house up apart from the snoring Ashton. He was quickly pounced on by Michael, being scolded.
"My parents are asleep, you dicksqueeze!"
Calum shrugged. "Geez, sorry."
"It's okay," Michael assured, looking around his bedroom to see Luke still lying on the floor next to Ashton, but he was awake.
"Morning beautiful," his croaky voice spoke out to Michael as he looked up to the red head peeking over the edge of the bed.
Michael grimaced. "Bugger off."
"Well aren't you just a sunshine in the morning?" Luke sarcastically commented as he pulled the blanket off of his bare chest, taking out his phone and letting the bright screen blind his eyes before turning the brightness down.
"You guys are such gremlins," Calum commented as he pulled the curtains open, making Michael squeak and Luke pull his blanket over his head in annoyance.
"Calum, my eyes! Put on some pants!" Luke cried out.
"We have to start setting up the party early," Luke reminded after a few minutes of silence, everyone trying their best to wake up completely.
Michael balled up his fist and used his knuckle to rub at his tired eyes, yawning.
He didn't miss Luke furrowing his eyebrows and looking over at him because of the delicate sound.
"Sure." Michael shrugged, completely getting out of bed and going to take a shower.
As soon as the water was heard running, a voice spoke beside the blonde.
"Why don't ya go join him?"
Luke jumped a bit and frowned at Ashton giggling at him. "How long were you awake?" He asked the curly haired boy who continued snuggling into his side.
"Long enough to see you stare at Michael like he was a kitten."
Luke's cheeks burned and he shook his head. "I was just confused of the noise. It didn't sound like the usual sound that comes from a male yawn... It was-just," he stuttered out.
Ashton nudged his side. "Just admit that you think it was cute."
Luke looked down and shrugged. "It sort of was."
It was fucking adorable.
-
"Come on, boys!" Luke clapped his hands, hurting Michaels sensitive ears.
He didn't say anything about it as he continued to pour out lightly salted crisps into a variety of bowls.
Ashton was in charge of the drinks and the punch whilst Calum was in charge of setting up a sick playlist for the night.
Luke, well... Luke stood there and looked good.
He usually had this routine of not shaving a few days before the party because then he had this stubble, on the day, that many girls love to run their hands over.
It wasn't too much nor too little. One problem, Michael hated it. Michael always thought stubble was gross, especially on young (,attractive) lads such as Luke.
Every time Luke spoke to Michael, all he could look at was the stubble. It was just stubblestubblestubble.
"Can you stop staring at my beard? I get that it's attractive but-"
"It's horrid," Michael retorted, rolling his eyes.
A thud was felt in Luke's chest at the comment. It can't be horrid. He wanted to look good for the night and now someone is saying it's horrid?
And not just someone. Michael said it was horrid.
"Let him feel like a man," Ashton giggled, walking into the kitchen. Luke mentally thanked the lord that his best friend can easily stop an awkward situation.
"Get lost."
"I already am," Asthon walked out of the kitchen after taking a swig of beer from a can.
"It's horrid?" Luke leaned in closer as Michael continued pouring out crisps.
Michael stopped for a second. He looked at Luke and nodded.
"You've made me confused! So many people like it, love it!" Luke threw his arms up into the air in frustration, before grabbing his hair.
"Well if many people like it, my opinion shouldn't be bothring you," Michael sounded annoyed.
It does, though.
"I'm just curious as to why though."
Michael sighed, placing the empty bag of crips on the counter before explaining. "It's just not really all that fun to kiss someone with stubble and it's all prickly."
"We're going to kiss?" Luke's eyes widened the slightest bit.
"Are you mad? Not in a million years." Michael looked genuinely disgusted as he crumpled up the packet of crisps and threw it at Luke's face.
"Hey! I didn't deserve that," Luke pouted. "I know. But that was for all the other times you've been an asshole to me."
Luke gasped. "Out of the two of us, you're the biggest asshole."
"We are all assholes, get over it," Ashton walked into the kitchen again, squeezing the beer can between his two hands, successfully squishing the can.
If Luke and Ashton weren't best friends since childhood, Luke would've been extremely intimidated by him and his strength.
He is when Ashton is mad, anyway.
"Asthon, how old are you?" Michael quietly asked, eyeing him as he threw the can into the rubbish bin. "I'm 18 in 3 weeks. Why?"
Michael shrugged. He noticed Ashton was underage drinking, but he couldn't judge since he did sometimes. "Luke, what are we wearing tonight?" Ashton questioned, Luke's lips turning into a mischievous smirk.
"I'll show our outfits tonight."
Michael almost snorted. "Outfits?" Ashton nodded. "Luke always picks out outfits for our group, each one different and some matching."
He suddenly felt nervous. Luke's picking his outfit?
The blonde walked towards the exit of the kitchen. He stood close to Michael, lips almost touching his earlobe. "You'll look so good."
Michael immediately shoved Luke away with a frown. Luke just chuckled, leaving the kitchen. "Ignore him," Ashton chimed in.
"He usually makes me look the most ridiculous, so you've got nothing to worry about."
Michael just let out a tiny sigh with a timid smile and nodded at Ashton.
It wasn't about the outfit at all.
