"Good morning ma'am."
"Good morning, Vincent," I answer my driver as I settle down in the limousine. "Straight to the office, please."
"Alright ma'am."
Once Vincent rolled up the partition, I let it all out. All the pent-up emotions from last night comes in form of fat, ugly tears.
Just how will I face my parents? What will my employees think of me? And lastly but in no way the least, the media! I am sure as soon as the news that I broke up with one of the richest, hottest and most popular bachelors in New York reaches them, the peace and quiet I value so much will be taken away from me for God knows how long.
To be honest, I don't know why I got into a relationship with Diego Giovanni in the first place. It wasn't even like I loved him, and as he vividly pointed out yesternight, neither did he. In fact, I think the only reason we were together for those six months was because of our status; the hot and rich CEO of Diego industries, dating the hot and rich CEO of The Lee's Foundation. That sure has a nice ring to it.
I guess I finally discovered that we had been wasting each other's time and maybe I should have ended the relationship earlier. But none of this served as an excuse for what that dumbass said to me.
Seriously, it would have been fine if the only thing he said after I had told him we should break up was 'Okay'. Instead, he had to be a jerk and with an arrogant smirk on his stupidly handsome face, say: "It's about time. Thought you would never get tired of me cheating on you. I was beginning to wonder if your backbone is so weak the only reason your father handed over the company to you was because he had no male child."
And that was the moment I had slapped him so hard my hand stung.
Hell! I didn't even know the good- for-nothing was cheating on me. The nerve of that guy!
I left him dumbfounded. Probably never been slapped before. The idiot!
"Ma'am?" I look up to see Vincent holding the door open for me, a concerned look on his face.
Wow! time does fly.
I was about to step out when I remember how my face must have looked from all that crying.
"Vincent, can you close the door and drive around a bit?" I ask, my voice more coherent than I expected.
"Sure, ma'am," he says and gently closes the door.
Just as I finish reapplying my mascara, my ringtone, Lana Del Ray's This is what makes us girls fills my ears. I pick up my phone from beside me and smile as soon as I see the name flashing on the screen.
"Hey, baby girl!" Margot's chirpy voice fills the speaker.
"Hey, babes," I reply as I give my face a once-over in the mirror I'm holding. "How are you?"
"I'm dandy. Just heading back from a shoot that was almost rescheduled."
"Almost rescheduled?" I ask, curious. "Why?"
"It's a long story, honey."
I nod with understanding even though she couldn't see me. A long story with Margot always involves men.
"So how's McSpicy doing?"
Ever since she met him, Margot had decided to call my boyfriend... uh, ex-boyfriendd McSpicy because according to her, he is so hot she could feel the burn on her tongue, and in case you are wondering, yes, she said it to my face even though she knew I was dating the guy.
That girl simply has zero filter.
And now, I am confronted with the gargantuan task of breaking the news of my break up to her. I take a very deep breath and then...
"Ibrokeupwithhimlastnight."
"Um, I don't think I got that," she says and I could already picture her scrunching her face in suspicion. "What did you say happened last night?"
There was nothing else I could do now. Well, here goes nothing...
"I said I broke up with Diego Giovanni last night," I repeat, calmly this time around.
Silence.
More silence.
"You did what!" Margot exclaims.
"You heard me," I answer in a shaky voice, determined not to break into tears.
"Oh, honey, what happened?" she asks, gently.
This is one of the reasons I love this girl. Rather than start blaming me for losing a man like Diego like fake friends would do, she decides to listen to me.
"After work, I will come by your house and explain everything."
"I will be waiting. I might as well ask Metisha to come over." Metisha is, like Margot, my best friend. Those two have been my besties for a very long time even though they both love to call me the odd one in our group of three. Simply because my name does not start with an 'M' like theirs do.
"Yeah, that will be nice." At least, I can explain to both of them at once.
"And Jules?"
"Yes?"
"Don't get stressed over it. I know you have your reasons so don't you dare go brooding on it, okay?"
"Thanks, love," I say and hang up.
Now, that's a real friend I can never trade for anything no matter what people say.

I kinda envy Jules and Margot's friendship..lots of fake friends out there these days.
