Chapter 5.5 ~A Report~

(A/N: A decision has been reached! For those who would rather not read with Ryan in the harem, I'm letting you know now, he will be. I hope you continue to read, if not I understand. For those who will continue this journey with us, Enjoy!)

~Owen~

We didn't follow Sang, only because she was right. She was different. We didn't know this new Sang, but you can be sure we were going to find out. That's why we stayed. An Academy team, friends of ours lived in this building. At least they did when we left. And if Sang is Academy, she'd had to have crossed their paths at some point. Perhaps, the Toma's can shed some light on this new Sang for us.

I knock on the door of Axel's apartment on the seventh floor of the Sergeant Jasper and wait for an answer, hoping that he's home. A few moments later the door opens to reveal Marc in pajama shorts and a tank top.

"Owen," his eyes widen. "You're back? What are you guys doing here?"

"We need some information," I tell him. "Can we come in?"

"Uh sure, come on in. I'll get Axel."

He opens the door wide before moving further into the apartment and down a side hallway. I lead my brothers into the room and close the door behind us, while we make ourselves comfortable in the living room. Marc comes back out a few moments later with Axel and Raven in tow.

"Owen," Axel speaks. "I heard your team was out of town on a job."

"We just returned earlier today," I respond.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"We need information on our bird," I tell him.

"According to her, she's not our bird," Nathan grumbles.

"I don't give a damn what she said," North explodes. "She's ours. She may be pissed at us right now, but she'll get over it."

"You really think forcing ourselves on her is going to endear her to us?" Nathan argues back. "We left her for two years! With no word, whatsoever! I'd hate us too!"

"Boys calm down!" I scream. "Now is not the time for this."

Axel does a low whistle. "Wow, this must be some bird. Who is she? Why do you think we know her?"

"She's Academy," Sean tells him. "Recently, apparently."

"What's her name?" Marc asks.

"Sang Sorenson," I tell him.

"Ah," Raven rumbles with laughter. "Malen'kiy prizrak (little ghost). Sweet ass. Nice form."

"What did you say!?" North growls, jumping out of his seat. Silas jumps up with him, trying his best to restrain him. "You son of a bitch, what did you say about Baby!?"

"North chill," Axel chuckles.

"Yeah, be cold West," Raven joins in.

Marc rolls his eyes with a smile, ignoring the tension rippling from my team.

"Axel, can you please explain why you all are laughing?" I bristle.

"Sang, her team works distractions for us sometimes. That's their specialty, distraction." Axel tells us. "They tend to use their, uh, assets for lack of a better word, to get the job done."

"Sang and Ryan are really something when they're putting on a show," Marc chuckles. "They usually end up distracting Raven to a point."

"What can I say," Raven shrugs. "I appreciate nice ass. 'Specially when she shoots better than most grown men."

"What the hell do you mean Baby can shoot better than most men?" North explodes. "Why the hell does she know how to shoot period?"

"It's part of the training North, you know that," Marc reminds him.

"But she actually liked going through the training so she asked Raven to teach her more," Axel supplies. "She's almost as good as him now."

"Holy shit, Peanut's packing," Nathan exclaims.

"She was right," Kota murmurs. "This isn't the Sang we know."

"What happened to our Pookie?" Sean questions.

"My guess?" Marc asks. "You guys leaving."

"What do you mean?" Silas asks.

"If she was as sweet as you guys make her out to be, a big change like that is usually brought on by something happening in the person's life that they can't control." Axel explains. "If what you said is true, that you guys just up and left, I'd be pissed too. Make some life changes. Become a different person."

"So this is all an act?" Luke asks.

"Doubtful," Marc shakes his head. "She's definitely changed, but I don't think she's lost to you. She's still sweet when she wants to be, just a lot more sassy."

"So what the fuck do we do?" Gabriel asks, pulling at his hair.

"Get to know new bird," Raven shrugs. "You might like her more."

"She's a great girl," Marc smiles. "Killer at beer pong."

"Beer pong!?" North explodes. "She's drinking beer!?"

"North calm down," I say to him. "We haven't been around in two years. She's changed. We can't get upset about actions we weren't around to respond to."
"Respond to?" Axel questions. "You guys say you like her right?"

"We love her," I respond.

"Well love doesn't dictate," he says. "It accepts, it nurtures. You all should know that. You can't try and change who she is now just because it doesn't fit with who she was."

"We wouldn't do that!" North growls.

"Then stick around," Marc smirks. "Get to know her. You might like what you find."
