Chapter 11

**Sang**

"Holy crap on a cracker," Jaelyn mutters.

Crap on a cracker is right. What the hell are they doing here!? I'm not nearly drunk enough to deal with this tonight.

Spinning on my heels, I march over to the kitchen and root through the cabinets for the shot glasses I know are here somewhere.

"Muse," Ryan calls after me.

"Not now, Ry," I respond, finding a shot glass and slamming it down on the counter.

"Jae?" I hear him call, only half focused as I find my choice in alcohol and pour a generous shot.

"I'm on it," she responds.

Her footsteps march in my direction, and I slam back the shot before she gets to me. I'm pouring myself another when she reaches me. Both hands extended in my direction, she snatches the bottle and the shot, knocking it back herself before placing both back on the island.

"Was that really necessary?" I ask her, my eyes narrowing involuntarily.

"Yes," she responds simply. "Now what's your game plan?"

"I don't have one," I huff. "I didn't plan on having to deal with them tonight. I just wanted to come here, hang out with our friends, and get a little buzzed. I can't deal with them sober."

"You're going to have to, because I'm not letting you ruin your liver over them."

"I can live without a liver," I mumble.

"Sang, I'm being serious," she chides. "You knew you were going to have to deal with them some day, that day just happened to come a little sooner than you thought it would. Be lucky it's just the two of them and not the whole team. You are the strongest person I know, you can do this."

"I'd rather not," I groan, leaning back on the counter.

"What are you so afraid of?" she frowns.

"I don't know how to talk to them," I grumble. My throat tightens up involuntarily and I roll my eyes at my own inability to control my emotions around them. They still have such a huge impact on me and I hate it.

"I doubt they'll even be here long. What do you mean you don't know how to talk to them?"

"They're just..ugh! If it were anyone else I honestly don't think I would care. Any other combination of boys and I wouldn't bat an eye, but them? They're just, ugh!"

"I can't understand, ugh, Sang," she chuckles.

"They're just so damn persistent! Anyone else would respect my boundaries and walk away. Those two? They're gonna blow in here like a tropical storm, knocking down every obstacle in their path, and they won't stop until I give in."

"Sang, they obviously didn't know you were here. Maybe they'll just leave."

"And maybe I have superpowers," I glare at her.

"Well, wonderwoman you are not. But you are Sang, and you're awesome. So we're gonna go out there, and finish our game night. And get buzzed, instead of blackout drunk, and you're gonna thank me for this."

"We'll see about that," I grumble.

"Whatever," she rolls her eyes. "Now get that cute little ass out there."

Rolling my eyes back, I push off from the counter and move across the kitchen, bumping Jae with my elbow as I pass her. She slaps me on my ass in retaliation before following me out. My eyes barely register Gabriel, and Luke's forms on the floor by the hallway, as I make a beeline for where Ryan's now sitting on the couch. He moves the pizza box out of his lap and extends his hand to me, pulling me down on top of him before placing the box in my lap. I relax back into his arms as he opens the pizza box and pulls out a slice, holding it up to my lips.

"Eat," he commands lightly.

"Feeling bossy are we?" I grumble before opening my mouth and taking a bite.

He pops me lightly on my thigh before kissing my temple.

"I'll show you bossy when we get home," he whispers. "Don't think I've forgotten about that stunt you pulled the other day. I still have to get you back for that."

"Looking forward to it," I smirk.

"So, Trouble," Gabriel says loudly, his eyes narrowed at Ryan. "Having game night without us? You should know better."

"I've been having game night without you for two years," I grumble. "I think I can manage."

Despite my cold words, this only deters him slightly. I catch his frown before he slaps on a smile.

"Well, what have you played so far?" he questions.

I stay quiet, munching on my pizza in my Ryan cocoon, leaving one of the others to answer his question. Axel shakes his head in my direction before answering for me.

"Well, Sang and I just kicked Ryan and Raven's ass in Spades."

"Lucky win," Raven grumbles.

"You reneged," I huff. "That's not luck, it's stupidity."

"Hey," Ryan pokes me in my side. "Who you calling stupid?"

"Whichever one of you reneged on Clubs," I respond, not even phased in the slightest. This is an old argument between us. They always end up reneging on one hand, no matter who they play. But Axel and I are the only one's who always catch it.

"We didn't renege," Raven grunts.

"You had clubs!" I exclaim. "You can't throw a spade on a club hand if you still have clubs!"

"The club wouldn't have won," he shrugs.

"But you might've won the game had you not reneged," Axel jumps in.

"Spades is stupid anyway," Raven grumps.

"You're just mad because you never win," Brandon smirks.

"I win against you," Raven grins.

"Oh, please," Marissa jumps in. "We let you win. Sang's right, you always renege. Ry, I don't know how you play with him."

"Maybe I need to change partners," Ryan smiles as he wraps his arm around my waist.

"Oh, no you don't," Axel smirks. "Sang's my partner for Spades. You can have her for everything else."

"Everything huh?" he laughs suggestively.

"Ass," I chuckle, slapping his leg.

"So," Luke says loudly, bring our attention back to him and Gabriel, who both are now staring daggers at Ryan. "What's up next?"

"Usually, Never Have I Ever, or Truth or Dare," Corey answers.

"Never Have I Ever!" Darren and Zerric yell out from their seats on the opposite couch, surrounding Jaelyn.

"Truth or Dare," Luke and Gabriel shout together.

"Never," Jaelyn shrugs.

"Truth," Riss smirks.

"Truth," Corey and Brandon say together, making me smile.

"Never," Axel shrugs.

"Never," Raven grins.

"Truth," Marc nods.

"Never," Ryan finishes, leaving me to decide the tie breaker.

"Looks like it's on you Minnie," Marc smirks.

"You guys suck," I argue. "You know I don't care what we play."

"Truth or dare it is!" Gabriel exclaims.

"That's not how things work around here Gabe," Marc informs him. "When there's a tie, there needs to be a tie breaker. Everyone voted except Sang, she gets to choose."

"But I hate choosing," I growl.

"Oh, we know," Brandon chuckles.

"Up yours, B," I laugh.

"Not my thing sweetcheeks. You're talking to the wrong twin."

"Nice, Brandon," Marissa chuckles. "Real cool."

"Yeah, thanks bro!" Corey laughs, chucking a pillow at his twin's head.

"You guys are so dysfunctional it's alarming," Jaelyn laughs.

"Thank you," Corey and Brandon say together.

"Alright, alright," Axel jumps in. "Back on track. Sang, pick."

"Fine," I groan. "Looks like we're playing Truth or Dare."
