Chapter 10
**A/N: Umm, Hi! So sorry I forgot to update yesterday, Vega wouldn't let me go. BTW, if you haven't read it yet, you should! Andyway, better late than never. Enjoy!**
**Sang**
After we exit the club, we pile in our cars and drive off to the Sergeant Jasper as I text Axel. We always keep go bags in our cars so we never need to worry about being somewhere over night without clothes. We usually just switch everything out the next day after we get home so everything is clean. No walks of shame for us.
Karen decided to stay back at the club instead of coming to the Toma's with us. Probably because things between her and Marissa are still awkward. I hate that things are like this between them, but there's not really much I can do about it except sit them down and force them to talk. But this kinda talk isn't something you force, so I guess we all just have to sit on the side and wait. I hate waiting.
We pull up to the Sergeant Jasper about twenty minutes later, and head up to the seventh floor. Last year, they decided to rent the apartment that sat between the two they originally had and do some construction to make it one big apartment. Well, Kayli decided, but the idea had merit. They finished construction a few months ago, but since Kayli didn't like us coming around, we never got to see the place finished. Sure Axel and Marc kept me updated with pictures and stuff, but it's different from when you're actually there. Anyway, Axel told me to knock on the middle door since that's the one they're using as the main door.
After a series of random knocks, Marc opens the door and lets us inside. The construction they did really made a difference to the place. In the small entrance hallway, there's two walk in closets, one on each side. The one on the left is for coats, and the one on the right acts as a small laundry room with shelves for bedding and cleaning supplies. We place our jackets in the closet before walking out into the spacious living room. It's easily big enough to hold the eleven of us for game night, with a large L shaped sectional, ottoman in the center, and two reclining side chairs. The kitchen is still off to the left, but they've taken out a few walls to make it bigger. The countertops and center island are stainless steel with white cabinetry. There are two hallways branching off the living room, one on each side, which I assume lead to the bedrooms and bathrooms.
Brandon, Corey and Marc walk out of the left hallway and come to greet us, while Raven comes out of the right.
"Malen'kiy prizrak, how's my favorite student?" Raven asks, opening his arms for a hug.
Walking into them, I wrap my arms around his neck as he pulls me up into a hug. My feet lift off the floor and I bend them slightly as I hug Raven tightly.
"Stressed," I sigh. "We really need to hit the range soon." Once I'm set back on the floor, I step back before he can ruffle my hair like he always tries to. "How are you guys?"
"Getting better each day," Marc replies, coming up to hug me as well. After I've hugged all of the guys, and we're all seated on the couch, Marc asks me, "Why are you so stressed Minnie?"
"Take your pick," I sigh. "Karen lives with us, Ryan's become more clingy than usual, the boys are back."
"Why's Ryan more clingy?" Corey asks, noticing how I'm practically wrapped in Ryan's arms on the couch.
"Because I have every right to be," Ryan replies smugly, earning a tap on the back of his head from me.
"He tricked me into being his girlfriend," I smirk.
"No tricks required, babe," Ryan laughs. "I'm just that awesome."
"Oh man," Marc laughs. "He finally got you to say yes?"
"Unfortunately," I laugh, with an eyeroll.
"What about the guys?" Brandon asks, his sad eyes holding more life than the last time I saw him.
"What about them?" I ask stiffly, not meeting any of their eyes.
"What are you going to do about them?" Axel asks lightly.
"Nothing," I shrug. "If they think they can just waltz back into my life after being gone for two years and everything will be exactly the same, they're sadly mistaken. I've changed, I'm not the same person I was when they left. And I'm pretty sure they aren't either. So I'm not gonna do anything."
"Sang-"
"Ry, I'm good. Promise. I really don't wanna ruin our fun reunion thinking about them, so can we please discuss something else? Like the guys freedom from she who shall not be named?" I ask, trying to lighten the mood.
Axel gives me a small nod, but the look in his eyes tell me that this conversation is far from over.
"She came to pick up the last of her stuff last week," Brandon shrugs. "Not sure if I feel better or worse knowing she had a backup plan this whole time."
"Backup plan?" Marissa asks from her perch on the arm of Corey's chair.
"Yeah," Marc sighs, running a hand through his shaggy hair. He'd let it grow out a bit more, but now it's just looking unkempt. He needs a haircut asap. "Apparently she'd been keeping in touch with Blake this whole time. She promised him that she'd leave us after we got Raven out of jail, and that she'd annul the marriage. When that didn't happen he told her she was done, but she did something to convince him otherwise. Corey's the one who found the messages."
"Damn, Corey, I'm so sorry," Marissa frowns. "I couldn't even imagine having to witness that kind of betrayal."
"Yeah," Corey frowns. "At first I didn't want to believe it, but the messages went all the way back to when we got back from that horrible mission on that cruise ship."
"He disappeared after we got Raven out," Axel continues. "We thought he was gone for good when Kayli told us that she didn't know where he was and hadn't spoken to him."
"Yeah, just another one of her lies," Marc grunts.
"Alright, new topic, because this is just getting depressing," Zerric pouts. "We came here for game night, so how bout we get some drinks, and play some games?"
"Here, here!" Darren cheers.
"Game night?" Corey asks, a smile lighting his face for the first time tonight. "So you guys are staying over?"
"Duh," I smile. "Our bags are in your new fabulous coat closet."
"Just because it's a walk-in, doesn't mean it's fabulous," Brandon smirks.
"You know how I feel about walk-in's," I chide Brandon. "If I say it's fabulous, then it's fabulous."
"It's better to just agree with her," Ryan chuckles.
"He's right," the twins agree in unison, causing everyone to laugh before we all get up and head to the kitchen to make drinks.
"Have you guys eaten already?" Axel asks once we're settled back in the living room.
"Not since before the show," I tell him.
"We'll get pizza," Raven suggests. "The usual?"
"You know it," Jaelyn smiles.
After Raven orders the pizza, we all team up to play spades. Since we do this a lot, there are quite a few decks of cards around the apartment. It's Axel and I against, Corey and Jaelyn, and Marissa and Brandon, against Ryan and Raven. The twins and Marc still haven't learned how to play so these are our normal teams. The winners of each game usually go against each other after, and the winner from that round gets to choose the next game.
Game is 250, so we're not sitting around playing forever. There are usually only two or three rounds between each of the teams, unless someone under bids, reneges, or gets stuck. Axel and I beat Corey and Jae by twenty, and Ryan and Raven beat Riss and Brandon by 50 since Riss reneged.
We're on our last hand, and Axel and I have already made all of our books, but there's still one in the air. Ryan throws down a three of spades which gets beat by Axel's seven of spades. Raven cuts Ryan's three with a Jack, insuring them the win if I don't have anything higher, which I do. As I'm about to throw down my Ace, there's a series of random knocks on the door. Corey goes to open the door as I throw down my Ace, grinning like the Cheshire cat. Axel fist pumps the air before standing and picking me up in a hug.
"That's my partner!" he exclaims, causing giggles to pour out of my mouth.
Ryan and Raven are arguing as per usual when they lose, but go silent when the door closes. Axel sets me back of my feet before turning to the door.
"About time the pizza got-" Axel stops, causing me to turn to see what the problem is.
My eyes widen as I take in the two boys standing next to Corey, a couple pizza boxes in each of their hands. Brown and blue eyes stare back at me in confusion, as I try to figure out what Gabriel and Luke could possibly be doing here. Somehow I feel like I just got more than I bargained for when I suggested we come over here.
