.8. Square Apples
He was tired of being fake
He wanted to live fair
He was tired of the usual
He wanted his apples square
He searched in every market
Every shop round the corner
Even travelled to the country
And asked every a farmer
They all denied him
"You're an idiot," they said
Nothing bothered him
His desire didn't fade
Determined to have them
He decided to grow his own
Ploughing a little land
Some seed he had sown
Months passed on
Little sapling peeked out
He took some extra care
Fearing it'd rout
As the years went by
Finally an apple was seen
But it wasn't what he wanted
It was the same round and green
Losing all his hope
He plucked it from the tree
Banged it hard on the ground
Let his rage run free
When he calmed down a bit
He saw the apple again
Satisfied by its looks
His efforts were not in vain
The side which he banged
Had lost its shape bare
He banged it again and again
And he had his apple square
What love couldn't do
Hate did in an instant
But that doesn't mean don't love
You just need to be persistent
You may not have an apple square
You may not have many other things
But if you always keep your hope
You'd never ever cut your wings
Yes, you'd never cut your own wings...
***
"Hope is the most difficult thing to keep in the times of despair. There are many other options poking their head up. But always remember, you should never lose your hope. Because it'll always give you that one more chance."
