Some mistakes are hard to mend
Some curves are hard to bend
We may apologise later
But the heart doesn't understand

It reminds of a broken promise
It reminds of that friend
Whom we promised a lot at start
But never reached the end

How often does it happen
How often do we give an instant promise
But how often we fail to fulfill
And finally, pay the fees

Why do we do it though
Why can't we say a little 'no'
Nothing would go wrong
If we learn to say this 'no'

Yes we'll definitely learn that
We'd practice hard as well
But will we get the apology today
That, only time will tell

But what use is it now
The deed's already done
We can only use that sorry
"please forgive me this once"
