"Can I at least try to help?" I asked, as he squeezed my thigh.

"What I want you to do is stay far away from danger," He said. "It was bad enough that I had to move you to London."

For as long as I've known Xavier, I've always had a thing for him. At first, I never wanted anything to do with him, but after he saved me from my family and showed me a part of him that no one has ever seen, I fell in love with him. I'd do anything to still love him and everything in my will to take our relationship to the next level.

Traveling to Dallas, Xavier tried to not make any stops, but knowing the man I love and want to be with, I knew he needed a break.

"Do you want to get a hotel or something?"

"If you're tired, you can rest." He mumbled.

"Xavier, you need to rest," I stated. "You're going to burn yourself out. Please don't do that."

For as long as I could remember, Xavier has been doing everything for everyone but himself. The only time that I can remember that he had a break was when my father almost tried to kill him and that I had to take care of him until he was okay. I know that he has his reasons for doing what he does, but I'd hate to see him all burnt out.

After going back and forth with him with getting us a hotel and him disagreeing, he finally gives in. Being okay with a cheap motel, but being with Xavier, he'd rather die than have me in a run down building. Instead of going to the next exit to get a hotel, Xavier drove for half an hour until we reached the most luxurious hotel that I've ever seen in my life.

"And no. A motel wouldn't do," He stated, climbing out and handing the valet agent the car keys. "You're not made for a motel."

"I just wanted you to rest and relax," I said, after climbing out with Aura. "I didn't need this."

"Yes, you don't need this," He said, taking my hand. "You need the whole fucking world and if it had a price, I'd give up everything I have just to give it to you."

"Xavier," I whispered. "Never give up anything that you worked so hard on to give me something that doesn't have a price on it. I'm just a girl who doesn't mean-"

"If you're wish me to fuck your brains out, i'd rather you ask when we check into a rom," He said, against my ear. "Because I'm a man of two moods when it comes to having sex with my women."

"Xavier." I whimper, feeling myself get wet.

"One, I'd fuck you on top of the receptionist desk and wont give a damn what anyone said. And two. I'd take you into our room, ripe every inch of your clothes and fuck your brains out because I want no on - no man - to ever see what I have and what's mine."

I was always used to Xavier talking the way that he does, but today; right now, never in my life had I ever wanted to jump this man's bones in my life. Then yet again, it could be the fact that we live far from each other because of my family.

Shaking my head and doing my best to hide my smile, we walked inside. Getting up to the desk, I could tell at first glance that this lady wanted my man. I'd call her out, but the fact that I trust Xavier and know that He'll never take anyone other than me.

"Would you like to have... room service to come help you unpack?" the girl asked, completely ignoring me.

"No," Xavier said, paying for the room and then signing the reset. "I already have my room service."

At this, the girl looked at me, then at Xavier, and scoffed. Chuckling under his breath, we get the room key and Xavier walked me and Aura toward the elevator. By it being the time of day that it was, Aura was trying her best to keep her eyes open. Seeing this, Xavier picked her up after we walked into the elevator and the doors closed behind us.

"Girls are so stubborn," He mumbled. "I told you two to go to sleep and did you?"

"We can't sleep in a moving car," I said. "It's not relaxing."

Not knowing what to say, all he could do was kiss the top of my head. After that, he pulled away and his expression made my stomach drop.

"What is it?"

"Um," He started as the doors opened. "I hate to worry you."

"Well, you're doing a very bad job at doing so," I said, walking out. "Just tell me."

The look he expressed was the same look he had when he found out that my family wanted him gone. Worried. Stressed out. Not because he was afraid of dying but because there was no one he trusted to take care of me.

"Xavier." I sighed as we stopped in front of a door.

"All I know is that Anika is here," He said, unlocking the door. "She came with Enzo and them. It's a long story."

Everytime I think I'm gonna get away from my cold hearted evil family, someone just has to find me.

Walking in, I took Aura from Xavier to get her ready for bed. Getting her undressed and putting her under the covers, I kissed her head before walking out. Going across the hall to our room, I found it empty. Something I've always hated, but right now, it's all I need.

The last time that I saw my family was when my brother Micheal started hitting Xavier's sister Sarah in their relationship. By being the only adult in that family, I had to make peace with Xavier's. That was how we met. At the time, I was the last thing that he wanted to see. After all, he was trying to get his family out of different kinds of mess that they got themselves into. But long story short, I choose him over my family and help him bring them down. Because he was afraid that my own family would come after me and hurt me, he asked his friend Alice for help and with her help, my family was no longer to enter this town or anywhere near me. So, hearing that Ankia is here and Alice has no knowledge of it, makes me wonder. What is my family up to to go against the mafia court?

"This is why I didn't want to tell you," Xavier said, wrapping his around my waist. "I hate when you're worried. I hate it even more when I'm the cause of it."

"What do they want with me," I asked, turning around in his arms. "I stayed in London. I didn't do everything that Alice told me: "Stay somewhere that they will never go and stay unnoticed." I did all of that."

"Shh," He said, pulling me close. "I don't know what they want or even if they want anything, but I promise you that I won't let them hurt you."

The last time that Xavier said the same thing, my family and his went to war and he almost died. All because he was keeping his promise to protect me from my own family. I don't want anything to happen to him because my family wants something from me. I have to deal with them. Not him.

"I'm going to have to deal with them on my own," I said, laying my head on his chest. "I can't let what happened last time happen again. I don't want to lose you."

"And I can't lose you, Nika," He said, pulling away so he could look at me. "You'll do anything to keep the ones you love safe and I don't want to lose you when I have to choose between me staying alive or them coming here."

"If Anika's here, I need to know why," I said, holding his face. "I'm sorry."

This was not how our relationship was supposed to end up to be. Xavier was going to go away from his family. Move to London. Of course he'll stay in the mafia, but we'd be together. That was the plan. It only changed when he wanted to find his sister. Now that my family wants something from me, things have to change yet again.

"I have to leave but promise me that you'll be okay." I said as he leaned into my touch.

"Take Aura with you?"

"I wouldn't be able to protect her from my family."

"Okay," He sighed. "I'll have a plane come for you in the morning."

"Thank you," I said, as he picked me up. "Until then, make love to me?"

"Anything for you."
