Ten
Making sure that Rhea was good before I did anything, put my mind at ease. I'm still upset with the fact that I took her and she didn't tell me because she thought that I wouldn't care. Yeah, I know that I'm a selfish man with a lot of enemies, but with a good amount of friends, but there's one thing a man should always do: Make sure that the women you're going to fuck is a virgin or not. It's the most respectful thing to do with a woman.
Anyway, as the days turned into weeks and I was able to get an appointment set up for Rhea, things went smoothly. As soon as my mother found out that Rhea was pregnant and that she was going to have a grandchild, both Rhea and my mother started crying. Something I'm going to have to get used to.
Sophia wasn't too fond of the fact but I could care less of what she thought about Rhea or my baby. She just better not say anything bad about them. Dima was excited to be an uncle. Martha. Well, she's something I might have to protect my baby and Rhea from. Ever since she realized how much Rhea meant to me, there's been nothing but bad vibes. And to add everything, there's Rhea's mood swings that I need to get used to.
"You can't have hot food, love," I groaned, working on flights. "You heard the doctor."
"Fuck the doctor." She said, standing. "My baby needs something spicy."
"I had the maids throw everything spicy out." I mumbled.
"Why would you do that," she whined. "What am I supposed to eat now?"
"I don't know, Rhea," I said, looking up from my computer. "What do you want?"
"Hot wings."
"Something other than that," I said, standing up and walking over to her. "How about food from last night and food from a week ago that you didn't finish."
"Is your dick on the menu?" She asked, grining.
"Rhea, the way we're fucking, you'll have twins," I said, kissing her head. "I don't know if you want that."
I never wanted kids until I met Rhea. Meeting and falling in love with her, and now being the father of our child, it means everything to me. I just never saw myself having a house filled with kids until now.
After going back and forwarth with Rhea on the fact that she can't have hot food, she decided to take pizza. Thing was, after six slices, she fell asleep. Having the maids clean and put the pizza away, I carried Rhea to our room so she and our baby would sleep better. Going back downstairs to continue working, Dima and Daniel walked in.
"If you're here to tell me that he's not here, then leave me be. I have things to do."
"He's here." Dima stated, clearly leaving something out.
"What aren't you telling me?"
"Now you want to be quiet," Daniel muttered, making a drink. "Would it be better if I told him?"
"I don't like this game that the both of you are playing," I said, standing up and walking towards the door. "You two are wasting my time on killing this boy."
"You mean wasted," Daniel stated. "Your guy's dead."
"What?!"
My guys know not to kill Micheal. I gave them clear orders months ago to find the bastard and bring him to me. Giving the boy a quick death was playing too nice. He had to pay for what he did. Now hearing that he's dead just pisses me off. Let's just hope that Rhea doesn't see me like this. But hang on. What does Dima have to do with Micheal?
"Dima. Brother," I started. "Please tell me that it wasn't you."
"Dan."
"Before you start yelling at your brother, take a walk with me."
"Give me a fucking reason why?"
"I'll give you two," He said, handing me a glass and guiding me out of my office. "It deals with Dima and Rhea."
Trying to calm down, Daniel walked me outside to the back. When Daniel has to talk to me about something very important, he'll wait a long time before saying anything. And the fact that it deals with Rhea, I need to know now.
Finally getting outside, that was when he spoked.
"Your brother wants out."
"And that's why he killed Micheal?"
"Micheal. Micheal and Mike are two different people. The Micheal that Rhea told you is still out there somewhere. The Micheal - a.k.a Mike - that Dima just killed is the son of a court council member."
"Daniel, you know I hate when people don't tell me everything," I sighed, sitting down. "What aren't you telling me?"
"Do you know Richard Ross?"
"As in court mafia council member Richard Ross?"
"Yes," He said. "The guy that sent us the address wasn't there with us. He was supposed to, but he wasn't. Then it caught me-"
"I'm going to stop you there," I said. "What's Rhea's reason?"
"Rhea was a child kidnapped from her family," He said, handing me his phone with a picture of Rhea but with a different name. "Thing is, Rhea isn't her birth name. It's Sarah."
"Daniel, what-"
"She's Lias's sister," He explained. "And they had a brother. Miceal Ross."
"The same guy's father wants him dead," He explained. "That's the reason why he wants out. So Richard doesnt know that it was you who made the order."
"So Dima's just handing himself over?" I asked, standing.
"It's the only way," Dima said, walking out. "I fucked up."
"I'll figure this out, Dima. I will," I said, grabbing his shoulder. "This is my fault."
Learning all of this, things start to add up and nothing seems to slow down. I have to figure out who's the rat in my circle who Zander and Alex were working for, find the right Micheal, and get Dima out of the mess I put him in. Plus, stay alive. Throughout my years of being a mafia, I have had to
worry about dying, but that was way before I met Rhea - Sarah - and found out that we're having a baby. I need to stay alive for her and our child.
"Have one of the maids pack everyone's bags. We're leaving tonight." I told Dima before walking in.
"What are you doing, Enzo," Daniel asked, following after me. "You going after Richard is playing with fire. Something you won't be able to get out of."
"All I have to do is show him that his daughter is safe, right," I asked. "I can give Richard Rhea until I know that she'll be safe and all of this mess is over with."
"That's the thing," He stated. "It's not Richard you have to worry about. For all I know, he's nothing but weak. He doesn't even care that Rhea's gone. It's his son Xavier that you have to worry about."
"Well, let's just hope that I don't get killed in the process." I said as a maid ran over with a bloody Ankia.
"Anika? What happened?"
"Nick's dead," She cried. "Before he did, he told me to give you this. Said that he might know who it is who's causing all of this."
"What does the key go to?" I asked, pulling her into a hug.
"To his safety." Daniel answered.
"Then we'll go to his house."
"Enzo, there's no house anymore. It blew up with him in it," She said. "I barely made it out."
Alex was killed a few days ago, meaning that it couldn't have been him who was in Rhea's apartment. Rhea and Daniel were almost killed, maybe by the same person who killed Alex. Dima killed Micheal Ross which was never supposed to happen, meaning one of my guys is working for the same person who Alex and Zander were working for. Now that Nick's dead because of who? Did he find out who this person was?
"Find a way to get in touch with Xavier," I said, letting the maid take Anaika. "I need to give his sister back before I can do anything."
"There's no way that I can change your mind, is there?" Daniel asked.
"No," I said, making my way upstairs. "I'd go to Hell and back to protect the people I love."
Getting upstairs, I walked straight to my room to find Rhea changing. Taking a sigh of relief that she and the baby's okay, I pulled her into my arms and kissed her.
"I love all the love that you're giving me, but what's the reason?"
"Dima killed Micheal." I said.
"Well, that's good, right?"
"Rhea, Dima killed a guy by the name of Micheal Ross. His father, a member of the mafia court counsel, found out the same day and he's after Dima and is trying to get to me."
"Well, is there anything that I can do to help?"
"No," I said, kissing the top of her head. "I need to make sure you're safe and out of harm's way.
