The Uzumaki Household is shown on the screen.
"I wonder if Papa will come home..?" a young girl asked her mother while brother was intently focused on his video game.
"That kid looks a lot like.."
"Well, today he said he would be able to make it." her mother answered her from the kitchen.
The scene changed to Hinata making her way out the door as she bade her kids, "I'm going to visit Grandpa. Dad should be home anytime now."
A man was shown walking tiredly, dragging his feet with little to no energy left in his body. He was walking to the place he called home, the one where he was rarely seen.
'Was this the future again?'
"You're finally here." Boruto greets him in the doorway.
"W-Well, today's Parent And Child Day." he gave an excuse only for it to be brushed off by his son.
"Parent and Child Day?" Questions were heard.
"Hima's been waiting. I'm leaving it up to you." He announced as he slipped his hands inside his pant pockets and made his way out, leaving his gloomy father.
"Don't have a good relationship, huh.." Jiraiya trailed off.
"I'm ho-" Naruto was cut off in shock upon encountering a Himawari sleeping infront of the door.
"Himawari.."
"What are you doing sleeping here?" he squatted down to her level.
A flyer advertising a Kurama toy was shoved into his face, "I have a request for today. I wanted you to come with me to buy this today."
"Kurama?"
"Sorry." he uttered making the light disappear from Himawari's eyes as she pretended she was not hurt.
"That's not good, Naruto."
A sigh came from the current Naruto, "I will make sure to knock some sense into my future self that I can so clearly talk to."
"Who taught you to talk like that?"
Naruto boredly pointed at Ayako who looked at him with pointed eyes.
"Okay, Daddy. Get some sleep." she assured her father but her hurtful eyes didn't go unnoticed.
Thwack
"Ouch"
With hand prints on his cheek, Naruto said, "You know we should go quick or they might sell out."
"That's the spirit!"
A crowd of people were gathered outside the store waiting to buy the limited edition Kurama toy for their kids.
"Must be limited or something."
"All these people are here already?"
"Hey Naruto!" the pair turned around to see a man with red marks on both his cheeks and a fur coat.
"Kiba?" "ohh! That's me!"
"Well, I never thought I'd see you out with your daughter." he commented.
"Oh! he and your mom were in Team 8 together. He's Kiba, a ninja hound user." Naruto introduced his daughter to her.
Kiba and Hinata made eye contact and they both decided to approach each other the next break.
"Oh! How cute!" an excited Himawari ran towards a large white dog and a smaller one petting it.
"Ma! Look at that! Akamaru's so big now."
Tsume merely snorted at his excitement.
"Seeing you here must mean that you are after Kuraa-ma too?"
"You are here for that too?"
"Um... an acquaintance asked me to pick one up."
"An acquaintance? Nice cover up, kid." Jiraiya praised.
Hearing this, Himawari complimented him on his choice, "Kuraa-ma is really cute, so I'm sure she'll love it."
Footsteps of people running and screaming shot through the whole area.
"See you later!" Kiba regained his composure and left them behind, entering the warzone first.
Some grimaced at the sight.
The screen turned dark.
"Damn it! It sold out." Kiba rubbed his head as he made his way towards Himawari.
"It was expected."
"Daddy! You bought one?" Naruto came out of the store with a bag in his hands.
"He managed to get one?" an incredulous shout filled the room.
"Yeah. They had quite a lot on hand so it was easy to find."
"I can see where this is going." Ayako sighed.
"Where?" Naruto asked.
"You'll see."
"Here's the toy you wanted for such a long time." he presented her a box which had 'One Tailed Shukaa-ku' written on the front in a very large font that only an idiot would miss.
"Kuraa-ma.." Himawari trailed off.
Sighs could be heard in the room as the young ones stared at Naruto and gave him a disbelieving stare.
Naruto's eyes turned wide and his pupils disappeared as he stared at the toy he just bought.
Himawari looked on in disappointment with a pout as Kiba and his dogs stood there giving him pointed looks.
"Even the dogs have had it with you!" Kiba sighed.
"I'll get you a Kuraa-ma without fail!" a determined promise was made as Naruto lifted his daughter and positioned her on his back in a piggy-back position.
A incredulous voice rang out, "And so you came to a flower shop?"
"Wait- that's.."
Ino reprimanded Naruto wondering how his brain worked.
"Me!!" Ino jumped up pointing at herself.
"Why would you think a toy would be found in a flower shop." Shino spoke up for the first time.
Ino turned to Himawari addressing her with a complete change in personality, "This is for you, Himawari. Thank you for all you did for Inojin back then."
"Inojin?" Inoichi questioned.
"I assume that is your grandchild."
"gRAND-" Inoichi malfunctioned.
"Thank you!" With two sunflowers in one hand and Shikaa-ku on the other, Himawari waved at her.
"How about this store?" Himawari pointed at a store on their right.
Tenten brightened up at the sight of the store.
"I coulda sworn this place was-" he trailed off as they entered the store.
"Don't tell me... Is that you, Himawari?! Look how you've grown.!"
"That's my other youthful student! I see that your river of youth hasn't run dry!!" Gai exclaimed. Whether it was a praise or some weird remark, Tenten wasn't sure.
Himawari went to check out the kunais displayed on the shelf while Naruto tried his luck with TenTen.
"Since it's Parent and Child day, I stocked some kunais that looks like a parent and child." she started prompting him to take a look at the kunais that were place in his hands."
"That's.. interesting." Itachi commented.
"Although I don't particularly see the use."
"Anyway, do you have Kuraa-ma?"
"Dumb."
A hand is shoved into his face, "That's the fourth enquiry today." With an annoyed tone, she reprimanded him.
"People actually asked for the toy there?" TenTen questioned out loud.
A tearful and dramatic show from the legendary actress TenTen prompted Naruto to concede, "Uhhh.. I'll take this.... Parent and Child looking kunai set."
Feeling her cheeks heat up, she tried to melt and become one with the floor.
As soon as her plan worked, her show came to an end. And the actress TentTen went away as soon as it came.
"Didn't know you.. schemed." Ayako teased only getting a heated glare from the girl in question.
"And for you, my lady..." she gifted Himawari a beautiful pink necklace with a kunai as the center.
"That's so beautiful!" Hinata commented with the others agreeing.
The setting sun reflected on the faces of the two Uzumakis as they strolled through the village.
"Sorry I couldn't buy you a Kuraa-ma."
"I'm going to cherish all the things you got for me today!" Himawari responded cheerfully, startling Naruto.
She continued, "Keep up all the good work as the Hokage!" she sent him a reassuring smile that hinted she forgave him for his busy schedule and negligible presence in her life.
"She's.. so cute!!" Yoshina exclaimed.
"And mature for her age." Shikaku added.
"All right! Let's run to the house fast!" the two then took off leaving behind the sound of blooming laughters.
The screen turned dark yet again.
"Over here daddy!" Sasuke was seen walking in the village observing the peculiar sight that greeted him.
"Boruto." he acknowledge the blonde kid who approached him. "I am seeing a lot of families gathering and doing things together. Why is that?" he asked.
"Is he your intel gatherer or something?"
"They said it's a new holiday. Oh! Right about now Dad should be taking Himawari around and having fun."
"And fun they had."
"Why don't you take Sarada out and have some fun?" Boruto suggested.
"Parent and Chikd day, huh..." Sasuke goes to meet Sarada as suggested.
"Boruto told me you'd be here."
"Do you want to go check out the festival?" he smiled as huge grin brimmed on her face, "Huh, can we?!"
"Do they never spent time together?" Mikoto wondered.
"I really wasn't expecting you to come home today, Dad!" said Sarada.
A girl's voice halted their steps, "Daddy! Please! Can you get me one? Please!" their attention was now caught by the Apple Candy store where a father and daughter were present.
"oooh! Apple Candy!"
Sarada commented, "How nice."
Thinking that this was a hint at wanting the candy, Sasuke offered, "Do you want one?"
Not getting any response, he continued, "No need to be shy. The candy's red."
Ayako snorted.
"I don't see why that's funny."
"Huh? So what if the candy's red?" Sarada questioned confused.
In the end, she got her point across.
"At least he's trying." Mikoto sighed, worried about her son's future.
The two caught sight of Naruto was walking around the village while carrying Himawari on his back.
"I get it!" Sasuke bent down the middle of the road, inviting Sarada to be piggybacked.
Shisui visibly cringed at the sight. "Aughh! I am doubting this is the actual future!"
"Stop overreacting."
"Please just stop. You're so embarrassing!" Sarada exclaimed as she took of to Itachi knows where.
"A sad father trying to piggyback his daughter and getting rebuffed." Kakashi approached Sasuke from seemingly nowhere.
A book came into his line of sight, "Make-Out Tactics." Kakashi advised, "For me these days, this is like a guidebook to life."
"Glad to see another who understands true art." Jiraiya said.
"Guidebook to life?" "What's the book?" Choji asked only for his questions to be shut down by a few of the while some had slight blushes on their cheek.
The temptation was strong for Sasuke, he took a huge gulp as he slowly fell into the trap of the silver haired ninja.
Sasuke approached Sarada, "About earlier, I am sorry for-" He was cut off, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have overreacted."
The mood that had become better was ruined as Sasuke spoke aloud taking the help of the book, "You're my cute little peanut."
"Peanut...?" Sakura trailed off. Her voice disappearing into the void.
Sarada narrowed her eyes, "Could it be that you've forgotten your own daughter's name?"
"What are you saying? It's Sarada."
Instead of learning from his mistake, he gave the book another try by wrapping his cloak around his shoulders.
"Oh! Yes, of course that would work.... who would ever not like it." Ayako continued, "Treat your daughter like how you should be treating Sakura."
"You're really annoying today, dad." Sarada pointed out as she slipped off the coat left him in the middle of the room.
The sun was now starting to set, the sky turning a shade of orange with reddish hue.
"The sky is beautiful."
"Work of nature is always a sigh to behold."
"How come you're not with Mr.Sasuke?" a voice made Sarada snap out of her trance. She turned to him and muttered with a gloom around her, "I don't think my dad knows me at all."
"Oh dear.." Mikoto sympathized.
"It's Parent and Child Day after all. I'm sure Mr.Sasuke just wants to spend some quality time with you."
At the same time, two men were leaning on the bridge railings for support as the younger looked over the flowing waters with a displeased look on his face. "Do you still have that book?" Sasuke turned to Kakashi, "Give it to me so I can toss it into the river."
"Actually, I should just toss you into the river, Kakashi."
The room was filled with laughter from his peers.
"Someone much more qualified is heading this way." Kakashi looked behind him, making him turn around unconsciously as well.
While in the Uchiha Household, Sakura shed some light in the darkness of their relationship.
"You know, her dream is to become Hokage."
"OH!! A competition!"Naruto exclaimed.
Ayako stared at him before saying, "And this is why your daughter is in possession of Shukaa-ku instead of Kuraa-ma."
With that sentence from Sakura in mind, he went to meet Sarada again.
"I heard you want to become Hokage." He was trying his best to fix the gap in their relationship.
"If Naruto is who you are following, you'll make a great Hokage."
Silence.
The screen turns dark with a picture of Sasuke poking Sarada's forehead as the setting sun on the background created a scene worth remembering.
Itachi and Sasuke turned to each other before the older offered him a smile. It was nice to see it held as much symbol to him as it did to himself.
Ayako's Notes:
-Sasuke and Sarada (Parent and Child Day)
-Sasuke + Sakura = Sarada
-Scene recommendations are still very much appreciated and thanks to the one who did!
