Chapter Twenty-Eight: Meetup & Discussions

Liam's Pov

You would think that after the changes I made in regards to the diamond auction that Tankhun wouldn't want to go to Hum's bar to party.

But, I was wrong. Dead wrong.

Because he still insisted on partying at Hum's bar and requested that Porsche and I come.

And if either of us were to refuse he would force us to watch more than one series with him in his room.

I honestly didn't mind but Porsche looked scared at the 'punishment' Tankhun had told us.

Which is why we got dressed as quickly as we could and left with the others to Hum's bar.

(Liam's Outfit)

Just like in the series everyone was enjoying themselves. They were drinking and dancing on the dance floor.

Except, this time, Porsche was enjoying himself too.

I guess since he was taken advantage of and he wasn't punished, he's able to let loose and be free and just have fun.

That's good. He deserves it after what could've happened.

However, I did notice that he didn't drink anything other than some beer and glasses of water.

And I noticed that whenever a woman tried flirting with him or motioning them to go outside, no doubt to hook up, he only smiled at them before turning his attention back to the others.

I was standing behind the bar with Yok when I saw the blonde hair woman, the same one from the series that Porsche tried to hook up with, giving Porsche flirty heart eyes.

Yok and I watched as Porsche spared her a glance, literally a one second glance, before going back to dancing with Pete.

The woman looked angry, her nostrils flared and her fist clenched, and she finished her drink before getting up and leaving.

I furrowed my eyebrows at that, a confused and slightly suspicious look plastered on my face.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by someone, most definitely Yok, harshly hitting my arm.

"Oi, what was that about?" Yok asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

"What do you mean?" I asked, pretending to be clueless.

It didn't seem to work because Yok shot me a deadpan look before gesturing over to Porsche.

"What's going on with Porsche? He literally rejected all the women that have been trying to get his attention. He's never done that before" Yok explained to me.

I pressed my lips together and shrugged my shoulders.

"He probably just wants to spend time with our friends" I told her.

"I doubt that. Something has been going on but he won't say anything and neither will you" Yok huffed.

I chuckled at that and stuffed my hands into my pockets.

"He's probably just trying to find himself" I softly said.

And by that I mean he's trying to make sense of, not only his sexuality, but his feelings for Kinn.

I hope that by me changing everything, especially the diamond auction, Kinn and Porsche get together in a different and better way.

Like I said I'm trying to push all the ships together by not adding in any trauma or sadness.

So I hope, more like I pray, that Kinn and Porsche stop being idiots and just find a way to admit their feelings to each other.

"Well, what about you? Do you have any men chasing after you?" Yok asked, smirking.

"You know that tons of men are flirting with me or trying to gain my attention all the time. But I always ignore them. I don't want to waste my time with them" I explained.

My eyes wandered over to Tankhun, who was leaning against the wall with a drink in his hand, while talking to Pravat.

He must've sensed me, or something, because his head snapped in our direction.

"Plus, I've got my eyes on someone else" I smiled in his direction.

I sent him a wink, laughing softly as his cheeks up and a smile appeared on his face.

He winked back at me, catching me by surprise, before he went back to talking to Pravat.

"Oh, does my Liam have a crush on the eccentric Tankhun?" Yok teasingly asked, smirking.

"Yes" I replied without hesitation.

Yok's eyes widened at my bluntness and her jaw dropped slightly. She clearly hadn't expected that.

She opened her mouth to say something when I heard my phone ring.

I frowned and took it out and turned it on in order to see who had texted me.

However, when I read the message my entire facial expression changed within a second.

Meet me at the back

- R

She's here. She's really here.

I looked over at the others. They were busy drinking, chatting, laughing and dancing so I doubt they'll notice my absence.

I looked over at Yok, only to see she had left the bar to join the others. As expected.

I swallowed thickly before discreetly leaving the bar in order to make my way out to the back so I can meet her in the alleyway.

The same alleyway Porsche and I were in when we met and helped Kinn.

I sighed in slight content when the breeze hit my face. I closed the door and put my phone back into my pocket.

I began searching the place, making sure that nobody was out here or that nobody had followed us.

However, there are cameras here, meaning we might have to leave and go somewhere else.

"Hey, Li" I heard the voice speak from nearby

I turned around and a smile appeared on my face at the person leaning against the wall.

Ruby.

She was leaning against the wall, a cigarette in her hand as she smiled at me while waving.

"Hey, Ru" I smiled at her.

She giggled before dropping her cigarette and rushed towards me.

When she was close she jumped on me, causing me to laugh, and wrapped her arms around my neck while hugging me tightly.

I hugged her back just as tightly, lifting her from the ground and buried my head into her shoulder.

"I've missed you, Li" she whispered in my ear.

"I've missed you too, Ru" I whispered in her ear.

Do you guys remember the drunk girl I met at this exact same bar that I helped take home before leaving?

Well, that girl just so happened to be Ruby herself.

When I got my phone back from Tem and decided to keep it with me, and just make sure it was hidden from Kinn and the rest of the family and bodyguards, I got a call from Ruby herself in the middle of the night.

I went to the bathroom, to avoid waking Pravat, and accepted the call.

Apparently, Ruby had gotten herself drunk in another bar and was walking home alone when she felt that she was being followed.

She got scared and called me, luckily she kept the paper that had my number on it, and begged for help because she was worried someone was following her and something was going to happen to her.

I got changed as fast as I could and snuck out of the compound to search for her.

Fortunately, I found her an abandoned playground and she was hiding inside a slide.

She hugged me when I found her and started crying. She told me that two guys had been following her and she got so scared that she took off running into the playground and hid in the slide.

She didn't leave and decided to stay there until I found her. Luckily, the guys had run off when they couldn't find her but she still remained hidden.

I hugged her and comforted her and when she calmed down I took her home. Safe and sound.

After that we started texting almost everyday and had quick, but fun, phone calls. We became fast friends.

However, the last time we spoke was like a few days ago.

Because I've been caught up with everything else that I didn't have time to text or call her.

But now that everything is under control, at least for right now, we're given the opportunity to meet in person rather than text or call.

And trust me, seeing her in person is way better.

We hugged each other one last time before we pulled away.

"So, do you have everything?" I asked.

Ruby smiled and nodded, revealing a bag that she had kept hidden under her jacket.

"It's all in here" she told me.

"Great. But, we have to leave. I don't want us getting caught" I sternly said.

"Agreed. Do you know a place we can go?" Ruby asked.

I smiled at her and nodded before holding out my arm for her.

Ruby smiled at me and giggled before she linked her arm with mine, scooting closer to my side.

With that we left the alleyway after making sure nobody was following us.

At The Club

No doubt that I had taken Ruby to my second work place.

Mainly because it's closed for the night since there weren't any bookings for today. Which was a relief.

Luckily the others weren't here either. For different reasons.

Sarla and Sami had plans to go on another date and they were gonna spend the entire day together at wherever they were going.

Dan, Ram and Champ had plans to go to the movies before heading over to Champ's place for a sleepover.

Arak and Emma were the only ones that were here. Apparently they were assigned to clean up whatever mess was left before they could leave for the night.

When Ruby and I arrived they were already done with the cleaning.

I asked them, mainly Emma, if it was alright if we stayed since we had a few things to discuss in private.

They agreed. Only because they trusted that we wouldn't make a mess and we'd lock up before leaving.

I said goodbye to Arak and Emma and watched as they left the club to head home. I didn't need to worry as much since Arak would be taking Emma home, safe.

And I know she's in good hands.

Ruby sat on top of the bar while I sat on one of the stools.

Neither of us were in the mood to drink anything related to alcohol so we just settled on water.

"Alright, show me the stuff" I told my friend.

Ruby smiled and nodded before taking out the bag she had as she set it on top of the counter.

She opened it up and dropped all the items that were inside.

Which just so happened to be a needle and a cylinder tube that was filled with some liquid stuff.

"I made sure to go through it so that I packed the right one. And don't worry, it is the right one" Ruby said.

I sighed in relief at that and nodded.

"Alright, so run me through what I have to do" I said

"You have to add the liquid into the needle, make sure none of it gets spilled on the floor or anything like that. Once that is over you have to inject the needle into her. Make sure you do it on her arm. Once she's sedated she'll fall asleep, giving you time to get her out without struggle" Ruby explained.

Now, I'm sure you're all curious as to what we're talking about.

Well, it's simple.

Ruby knows everything. And I mean everything. And she's going to be helping me.

I never intended on telling her the truth let alone have her help me. But, things kind of happened and the truth ended up getting out.

It's actually a funny story, if I do say so myself.

Flashback
Nobody's Pov

It was the day after Liam found Ruby in the playground after she got away from the two creepers that had been following her.

Ruby didn't want to be alone at her place and asked Liam to stay. Liam, although a bit hesitant, agreed and slept on her couch.

Liam had woken up a little early, like at four in the morning, and prepared some breakfast for him and Ruby.

He decided to do something nice for her after everything that occurred last night.

Not to mention he had to get back to the compound before someone, mainly Pravat, realizes he's missing and start a search party.

However, Ruby had woken up and, well, he couldn't be rude and just leave.

Which is why they both sat down at the table together and began eating the breakfast Liam made. They cracked a few jokes and just talked about random shit.

Liam tried not to tear up at the fact that his interaction with Ruby brought back memories of him and Jack.

They would always crack jokes and talk about random shit. Whether it was during breakfast, lunch or dinner, they always did it.

And, unexpectedly, Liam had blurted out his secret to Ruby.

He didn't mean to.

He, accidentally, asked Ruby if she was in another relationship after what happened that night they first met at Hum's bar.

Ruby had tensed and told him no. Before he knew, she had started ranting to him about her previous, toxic, relationship and was close to crying.

Liam felt bad that she was sharing something that was obviously a sore subject, something she obviously didn't want to talk about.

Which is why he felt that it was only fair for him to tell, more like blurt out, the truth.

Ruby blinked several times. She was on the verge of crying when Liam blurted out five words to her.

"My name isn't Liam Kittisawat"

And, well, that's how the rest of the story came out.

Ruby blinked a few times

"You're not shitting with me right now? Are you?" Ruby asked.

"No. I'm not. My name is Liam Santiago and I'm from a world where, all of this, is simply just a series" Liam revealed.

Ruby pressed her lips together tightly and looked down at her empty plate.

Liam, a nice guy and a potential friend, had just told her that he wasn't from this world. He was from a world where none of this is real and it's all just a series.

She promised herself that after last night she wouldn't drink...

But, right now, she needs to at least chug down three beer bottles.

Liam raised an eyebrow at Ruby, waiting for her to say something. Anything.

He flinched, only slightly, when she pushed her chair back and stood up. She turned around and began making her way towards the kitchen.

"Where are you going?!" Liam yelled out to her.

"I'm getting some beer. It's way too early to start shit like this!" Ruby yelled back.

He honestly couldn't disagree.

"Bring me back one, please!" Liam yelled.

"Sure thing!" Ruby yelled back.

The two friends had each chugged down three beer bottles as Liam told Ruby everything, starting from the beginning.

And, for whatever reason, Ruby believed him.

Flashback Ends
Liam's Pov

"You're absolutely positive that this stuff is going to work?" I asked, wanting to be 100% sure.

"Li, my mother is a nurse. She's been a nurse for years and she's damn good at her job. Trust me, it'll work"

I chuckled at that and nodded.

"Alright, so lets go over the plan" I said.

Ruby nodded as she took a gulp of her water before setting the cup back down on the counter.

"I'm going to wait until everyone is asleep before heading into the secret room that Nampheung is being held in. I grab her from behind, inject her so that once she's sedated she falls asleep. Which gives me the opportunity to get her out without any struggle" I explained.

"I'll be waiting in my car just a few blocks away from the compound. You both get into the car and I drive off to my mothers house. My mother will take care of the rest from there" Ruby explained.

Yes, Ruby's mother is also in on this.

And before you all attack me, her mother doesn't know the entire truth.

Ruby suggested that we go to her mother for help since she's the one with experience. She's the one that'll be able to help Nampheung the most.

I was hesitant but agreed in the end. Mainly because I really did need help from a professional, I'm not doctor material or anything like that.

Ruby and I only told her mother half the truth...

That my adoptive parents were killed by Korn who tried to make it seem like an accident. My adoptive mother survived but Korn kidnapped her, imprisoned her and did something to her to cause her to lose her memory and not talk.

I, and neither did Ruby, didn't tell her about me being from a world where all of this is just a series.

Ruby's mother was hesitant at first, but when she learned the truth she was horrified.

I had to admit I was a little overwhelmed, but happy, when she hugged me tightly and promised to help me.

Ruby and I were relieved that she agreed to be apart of the plan.

I seriously didn't want to bring more people into this but I had no choice.

Especially since Ruby's mother is the nurse, she's more experienced and she's the only one that'll be able to help us.

"Your mother is honestly the best. Not many people would agree to help" I smiled.

"She is big on helping people. Yes, this might be risky but after she learned the truth, or part of it, she wasn't going to sit back and do nothing" Ruby explained.

"I'm just glad we didn't have to tell her about the full truth. I already know she would've sent me to a mental hospital" I sighed.

"She definitely would've" Ruby laughed.

I rolled my eyes while Ruby shrugged, unbothered by what she said.

I sighed and drummed my fingers against my glass cup, a small frown plastered on my face.

I took a sip of my water before setting my cup down. I let out another sigh before grabbing onto Ruby's hand.

"Ru, I just wanted to say I'm so grateful that you believed me. And I'm grateful that you're not only helping me, but you're gonna keep this to yourself and not rat me out" I smiled softly at her.

Ruby smiled softly at me as she gave my hand a gentle squeeze.

"Li, you're my friend. You helped me that day at Hum's bar and you helped me that night I called you and took me home safe. Not to mention you're a good person and you're just trying to help your brothers and friends. I understand and respect that" she explained.

She placed her hand on my cheek and leaned in closer, pressing her forehead with mine.

"I'd never rat you out and I'd never leave you to deal with all of this alone. You need all the help you can get and I'll gladly be there for you" Ruby finished.

Tears gathered in my eyes and I did my best not to let them fall.

This brings back memories of Jack and I and it just makes me miss him more than I already do. I really wish he was still here.

But, I'm so happy to have a friend like Ruby because I know she has my back no matter what.

I pressed my forehead a bit closer to hers, watching as her lips twitched upward slightly.

"You're the best" I whispered.

"So I've been told" she whispered, smirking.

I chuckled at her and fondly rolled my eyes while she laughed softly at my reaction.

I let out a sigh and closed my eyes, taking a few deep breaths.

Hang on Nampheung...

I'm coming to get you...you're going to be free soon...

-------------------------------------------------

Hey, guys! How are y'all doing?

So, first off, I wanted to say sorry for the small misunderstanding.

I know I said that this would be the chapter where Liam rescues Nampheung but a few things have changed.

I decided that this would be a chapter introducing a new character, Ruby, as well as introducing her friendship with Liam.

And, yes, Ruby knows the truth. She was the first person that Liam told and she's been helping him with whatever he needs.

Starting with Nampheung and helping her regain her memories as well as helping her talk.

I figure I would have someone helping Liam instead of him having to deal with everything by himself. I don't want him stressing out over everything and, lets be honest, given all that happened in the show he does need some assistance.

But, I promise that the next chapter is where Liam rescues Nampheung.

So, please, stay tuned for that and have a great day! Bye!
