Chapter Thirty-Seven: Visits & Necklace
Liam's Pov
Just before Pravat and Porsche could pull me out of the room, obviously wanting to give the brothers some space, we heard groaning.
Everyone paused what they were doing and turned to the source of the noise.
Kinn.
He was beginning to stir, his head moving side to side a little bit, as more groans escaped his mouth.
He wasn't the only one.
Kim was beginning to stir himself as his eyes slowly began to flutter open.
I guess my appearance woke them up.
But, can you blame me for wanting to see Tankhun and make sure that he was alright?
Especially since it was my fault he got shot in the first place.
Kinn picked his head up, slowly, from the lap of his older brother while Kim brought his free hand up in order to rub his eyes.
Almost immediately, the bodyguards stood in a straight line.
Porsche just stood by my side, never taking his eyes off of Kinn as he began to rub his eyes.
Finally, when the two brothers were wide awake they were staring at us.
Kinn's eyes widened when he saw that I was awake and he, quite reluctantly, got up from the chair he was sitting on.
Meanwhile, Kim stared at me with an unreadable expression.
Most likely trying to find out who I was.
But if he got himself involved on the search then he should know who I am.
Plus, this is Kim we're talking about. He basically knows everything.
"Liam, you're awake" Kinn spoke, breaking the silence we were in.
"I am, yes" I politely said.
"How are you?" Kinn asked.
"I'm alright, thank you" I nodded.
Why is he worried about me when his older brother was the one that took a bullet for me?
He shouldn't be worried about me. I'm just a bodyguard.
Besides, Tankhun is more important than I am.
My eyes darted over to Kim who was still staring at me, having gotten up from his seat seconds ago, and still holding the hand of Tankhun.
Kinn glanced between us before clearing his throat.
"Liam, I would like for you to meet Kim. Mine and Tankhun's younger brother" Kinn said.
My mouth formed into an 'o' shape and I nodded in understanding.
"Very nice to meet you, Mr. Kim" I politely said while bowing in respect.
Kim said nothing. He just stared at me.
I'd like to say that he didn't really care who I was but there was an glint in his eyes that said otherwise.
Kim tore his eyes away from me and looked at his brother.
"Is this your other bodyguard?" Kim asked.
Kinn nodded.
"This is Liam, Porsche and Chay's brother" Kinn told his younger brother.
Kim said nothing, he just turned back to look at me.
He eyed me up and down, the glint still in his eyes as he tried to get a read on me.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intimidated by him but I tried my best not to show it.
But I did shift a bit uncomfortably from where I stood, considering he was still staring at me.
Finally, he stopped and looked me in the eye.
"I don't know much about you. I've heard some of the other bodyguards talk about you. And, for some reason, they say you're the best" Kim said.
I frowned at that.
"Well, I'm not really-" I started but he cut me off.
"But I don't see it. Especially when you were stupid to ask my father for a day off and as a result, got kidnapped and dragged my brother along in your mess" Kim added.
I flinched slightly at that.
Especially when I clearly heard the anger in his tone.
"Kim" Kinn shot him a pointed look.
Kim turned to him with a raised eyebrow along with a glare.
"I'm stating facts, Kinn. He's supposed to be the best? If that were true, he would've done better in protecting our brother. Instead..." Kim trailed off.
He turned his attention back to me and I swallowed quietly.
Out of the corner of my eye I could see Porsche scooting closer to me.
"He was weak. He was stupid. And not only did he let our brother get kidnapped, he let him get shot too. Pathetic" Kim ended with a scoff.
Well...
That's honestly as expected.
I don't really blame him for being angry at me since I am a bodyguard and it was my job to protect Tankhun.
And I failed since he got shot protecting me when it should've been the other way around.
I could practically feel Porsche burning holes into Kim with nothing but rage. The others were simply glancing between us worriedly.
Kinn cleared his throat, breaking the tension and awkwardness that was filling the air.
"How about we step outside for a moment?" Kinn suggested.
"Great idea" Porsche nodded slightly.
He, after sending one last glare to Kim, then grabbed my arm and dragged me outside with the others following.
My gaze on Tankhun's sleeping form never moved away.
Only when Kim closed the door after all of us left did I sigh and turn my head to look at the others.
Kinn let out a sigh and ran a hand through his hair before looking at me.
"I apologize for what my brother said. He's just worried about Tankhun like I am" Kinn told me.
"Where were you when he was insulting my brother?" Porsche asked, glaring at him.
Kinn looked at him and opened his mouth to say something when I stepped in.
"Brother, it's alright. Mr. Kinn, it's alright. I understand that Mr. Kim is just worried for Tankhun. Believe me, I am too" I said.
It dawned on me that I just called Tankhun by his name.
However, nobody seemed to take note of it.
Except Pravat.
Who raised an eyebrow at me as his lips twitched upward, a faint smirk appearing on his face.
I blushed slightly at that before clearing my throat, not wanting anyone to see that let alone Kinn.
"Still, he shouldn't have said that" Porsche told me.
Kinn nodded slightly, staring at my brother for a few seconds, before turning back to me.
"What exactly happened when you guys were taken? And what happened after the truck crashed?" Kinn asked.
This gained everyone's attention and they all looked at me, waiting for an answer.
I muttered a slight curse under my breath before sighing and opening my mouth to reply.
But I never got a chance to do so due to someone yelling out my name.
"Liam!"
I furrowed my eyebrows together and turned around and my eyes widened when I saw Macau running towards me.
Vegas and two bodyguards were not too far behind him.
"Macau?" I asked, confused.
What was he doing here? What was Vegas doing here?
How did they know to come here?
I yelped in surprise when Macau threw himself at me, nearly making me fall to the ground, wrapping his arms tightly around me.
I glanced over at the others and saw that they were just as confused as I was. Even Kinn.
The only one that didn't look confused was Chay and was just smiling when Macau made his appearance.
I tore my eyes away from them and focused my attention back onto Macau.
"Uh, hey buddy. What's up?" I asked, wrapping my arms around him.
Macau didn't answer and simply continued hugging me as he buried his head into my chest.
I looked at Vegas and tried my best not to flinch at the slight glare he was sending my way.
"Father heard from uncle Korn that you and Tankhun were found and rushed to the hospital. We came to make sure everything was alright" Vegas explained.
Oh. That makes sense.
God, I'm an idiot.
They were worried about their cousin, obviously.
The families might not necessarily get along or even like each other but at the end of the day they are still family.
"Understood" I nodded.
Vegas tore his eyes away from me and looked at Kinn, "how is Tankhun?" he asked.
"He's out of surgery. He's resting right now and Kim is in there with him" Kinn told him.
Vegas raised an eyebrow at the mention of Kim before nodding his head.
Macau finally pulled away from the hug as he looked at me.
"Chay told me what happened and I was worried something happened to you. I'm just glad you're alright" Macau told me.
Porsche and I glanced over at Chay who smiled sheepishly at us and shrugged.
I chuckled softly before turning back to Macau.
"Don't worry, buddy. I'm alright. A few scratches and bruises but nothing major. It's Tankhun that you should be worried about" I reminded him.
"I know but you're important too. I wanted to make sure you were alright" Macau said.
I allowed myself to smile softly at that, feeling my heart warm because of his words.
I gently ruffled his hair causing him to playfully glare at me and smack my hand away.
I opened my mouth to say something when Porsche stepped forward while placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Well, thank you for coming to check on my brother. But I think it's time for you and your brother to leave" Porsche said.
"What? No, I want to stay" Macau immediately protested.
Vegas sighed and looked at his brother, "I know you want to stay but you can't. Especially when Liam needs his rest after everything that happened".
"Agreed. He shouldn't even be up in the first place" Kinn said, shooting me a pointed look.
Not just him.
Everyone was shooting me pointed looks. My brothers included.
"I wanted to see Tankhun and make sure he was alright" I shrugged, a blush attempting to creep onto my cheeks.
I had to make sure he was 100% alright because I couldn't live with myself if something had happened to him.
Vegas and Kinn raised an eyebrow at that.
While the bodyguards, except Pravat, shared a glance. My brothers and Macau did the same.
Pravat simply raised an eyebrow at me with a small teasing grin on his face.
I just decided to ignore that.
"Well, you've seen him. Now you can go back to bed" Kinn told me.
"Agreed. You need to get back to your room and rest" Big added.
"And we'll have to get a doctor and have them look you over to make sure there's no permanent damage" Arm added.
I groaned quietly, "oh come on I feel fine".
"We don't care. You're going back to your room, getting in bed to rest and a doctor is going to look you over. End of discussion" Porsche sternly said.
"But-" I started but was cut off.
"Get your ass in bed before I shove my foot down your throat" Pravat threatened, a glare settled on his face.
My eyes widened at that, I definitely wasn't expecting that.
The others, except Kinn and Vegas, had the same reaction as me.
Kinn just shook his head while Vegas covered up a chuckle with a cough.
I sighed in defeat and raised my hands in the air, signalling that I was going to do as told.
Especially when it's clear that I wasn't getting out of this.
Porsche nodded in satisfaction and just as he and Chay, along with Macau who went to stand by Chay, were about to walk me back to my room someone stopped us.
We all looked to see it was Pol and he was trying to take something out of his pocket.
"Liam, I believe this belongs to you" Pol told me with a smile.
I raised an eyebrow at that while everyone looked at him in confusion.
Pol continued smiling at me before finally taking out whatever was in his pocket.
He opened his palm and when I looked down at it my eyes widened and a gasp escaped my lips.
"Oh my god" I breathed out.
It's my necklace.
The necklace Jack gave me.
The necklace I believed I lost in the woods.
The necklace I believed I was never getting back.
"Is that..." I trailed off, looking up to look at Pol.
"Your necklace. Yes, it is" Pol nodded.
"But, how? I thought it was gone. Where was it?" I hurriedly asked.
"When we were searching for you and Tankhun we came across the truck. We were searching it to see if you guys were there but you weren't. Just as we were leaving I noticed your necklace lying on the ground in the inside of the truck. I figured it must've dropped in the crash so I took it with me, I kept it in my pocket to make sure I didn't lose it" Pol explained.
So it did fall off during the crash.
I should've known.
But I don't care because it's here. It's not lost.
It's currently resting in Pol's palm and I swear I would've passed out right then and there.
Instead, I felt tears building up in my eyes before a relieved smile appeared on my face and a breathless laugh escaped my lips.
Without hesitation, I lunged at Pol and wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly.
Pol coughed in surprise and stumbled backwards but managed not to fall.
Pol then let out a chuckle before wrapping his arms around me, hugging me back.
"Oh, thank you so much. I was so scared I really lost it" I said.
"It's no problem. Besides, I know how important it is to you" Pol said.
He has no idea how much that necklace means to me.
Especially when it's the only thing of Jack that I have left and I never want to lose it. Ever.
I pulled away from him and brought my hands up to his face and gently cupped his cheeks.
"Oh, if I didn't already have feelings for someone else and I didn't ship you with someone else I would've asked you out" I smiled.
Not giving him the time to say anything or react, I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.
I heard a few people gasp at what I had done while others remained silent. But I didn't really pay them much attention.
Although, I could definitely feel someone's eyes burning holes into the back of my head.
Pol's reaction was as expected. His eyes were wide open with his jaw open and his cheeks were bright red.
But I decided to just ignore it.
Instead, I smiled at him before quickly taking my necklace from him.
"Thank you, Pol. I owe you big time" I told him.
With that I turned around and began walking away, putting my necklace back around my neck as I did so.
Leaving behind a still shocked audience along with an angry and jealous bodyguard.
