[4] - I Was Monologuing
"In the beginning, there was nothing. Just darkness. And in that darkness was the Gap. Not the store brand Gap, but a cloud of nothingness whose name meant Chaos. So, Chaos was all alone. He was the only thing there in the universe and one day he-"
"We didn't mean that kind of beginning," Keith said in irritation as he cut off Chassity's 'begininng'. Then he tilted his head a bit in confusion. "How did you do that?"
"I Was Monologuing," Chassity said. "I am the author of this story, so-"
"Chassity! You broke the fourth wall!" Alyssa joked. Jamie smiled and played along.
"I think we might need some superglue," Jamie spoke up.
"Maybe duct tape would work," Naia suggested.
"There is no fixing the fourth wall," Sachi said in a joking matter. "We've broke it too many times."
"I have some Altean substance that acts what you Earthlings would call glue, but it is 100 times stickier and last for much longer than yours," Coran said with pride. The girls broke out in laughs.
"The only thing that can't be broken is my-" Lance was cut off with Shiro saying his name sternly.
"Lance, no," he said.
"Yeah, Lance," Chassity said then pointed to her head. "If you want a dirty mind take a look in this one. I have read way too many fanfictions. Even something simple can be dirty to me. Like, 'This is hard.' And then I'll probably say, 'That's what she said!'"
Those who did not know Chassity for at least a year stared at her with wide eyes as she just smirk and burst out laughing along with her friends.
"I was going to say my good looks and charm," he said now scarred for life because of her blunt statement.
"O-kay, well on that happy note," Hunk started, "How did you guys get here?"
"I think the better question would be why the black lion chose you five to be our co-pilots," Pidge said.
"Oh, that's easy," Chassity said. "Allura can explain."
"Isn't Allura a princess?" Alyssa asked.
"Yes," Sachi said. "An Altean princess."
"Daughter of king Alfor and one of the last of her kind," Jamie said with a hint of sadness.
"Oh, that sucks," Naia said. Allura nodded.
"Yes, I am Princess Allura of Altea and you five are the paladins' co-pilots," Allura said.
"We know that, but why them?" Keith asked as he motioned to the five girls. Then he faced the girls, "And that does not explain how you know of us when we have never met!"
"You guys are a TV show," Chassity said bluntly. "I've watched every episode of you guys and know most of each of your past."
"Yeah, that's not creepy at all," Lance said sarcastically.
"Well, we didn't know you guys were real, so what else were we supposed to do?" Sachi retorted with a glare. "Digging into each character's past is a thing fangirls do."
"Woah, Sachi. Calm down," Naia said to her friend.
"Yeah, no one wants to see you mad," Jamie said. "I don't think we ever seen you 'mad'."
"And maybe we should let Allura explain this co-pilot business," Alyssa suggested as Lance cast her a grateful look for changing the subject. She blushed faintly at this. "Princess?"
"Oh, right," Allura said sheepishly, but then turned serious. "You five were chosen by the black lion to be the paladins' co-pilots. The original paladins all had co-pilots who filled in for them when unable to go into battle or flew with them even when able to go into battle as, well, co-pilots.
"The black lion was the one to choose the co-pilots, but the previous black paladin never had a co-pilot. I was never sure of why, but now you five were chosen to help your paladins defeat Zarkon and save the universe!" Allura ended on a happy tone.
"Yep," Chassity said as she leaned back on the couch. "That's what's up."
"I still don't understand," Pidge said. Everyone looked to the green paladin with confusion.
"What don't you understand, Pidge?" Shiro asked. Pidge readjusted her glasses and they had a bright glare over the lenses as she stared at the girls.
"You don't come from Earth do you?" she asked. The paladins looked at their teammate in confusion.
"But they're human!" Lance shouted.
"You guys are human, right?" Hunk asked. They all nodded. Then Chassity did a 'so-so' motion with her hand.
"Well, mostly. But! We do come from Earth, but not from your Earth," Chassity explained. Pidge nodded.
"So that's why you said our lives was a TV show," Pidge pointed out. "You know who we are and what happens in our future and our past, correct?"
"That sounds accurate," Naia said. Then they stared asking questions.
"Does that mean I find my family?" Pidge asked.
"Will we defeat Zarkon?" Allura wanted to know.
"How do we stop the galra?" Shiro questioned.
"Is there any other food than space goo?" Hunk wondered.
"Can you see everyone's future?" Coran put in.
"Will we ever go home?" Lance asked.
"Do you know everything about us?" Keith interrogated.
The girls went wide eyed with all the questions, but Chassity answered for the sake of the readers.
"I can't say; I can't say; I can't say, but we'll help. Yes; depends on who it is because I have limits. Definite yes, but not for a while; and I wish I did," Chassity answered as she pointed at the person who asked their question in the order above.
They all processed their answers and Allura was the first to speak up.
"Everyone, come with me to the control room," she said and faced the co-pilots, "Let us introduce you to your lions."
~Time Skip to Control Room~
As the paladins and co-pilots filed into the control room, Allura stood on her pedestal and activated the holographic map. The five lions were shown to be in the same place, the castle.
The co-pilots eyes widened in amazement, but lasted only for a moment as Allura stared speaking.
"When you first arrived, I sensed clear characteristics with you as I did with each paladin," Allura waved her hand and each lion went to a different girl.
"The green lion is intelligent and brave. It's co-pilot must have clear intellect and bravery within, even though it may be hidden. Eventually both will show, but with time. Alyssa, you will help Pidge pilot the green lion."
"Wow, "Alyssa breathed out as she stared at the hologram.
"Congratulations, you're with me," Pidge said as she gently nudged her co-pilot with her elbow. Alyssa just smiled.
"The blue lion-"
"Let me guess, has a paladin that has great looks and amazing piloting skills?" Lance said as he had the same smirk with the sparkle as he did in 'The Rise of Voltron'.
Then everyone gave Lance a 'really' look, which he ignored.
"No, the blue lion is the fun loving one and brightens up the team. They not just only love fun, but help hold the team up, like the yellow," Chassity said. Then she put a fist to her mouth in a thinking manner. "I think."
"Jamie, you will assist Lance as his co-pilot. The yellow lion is the leg that holds the rest up. They may not be they glue, but you can count on their support. It's co-pilot and paladin must have a kind heart and a mighty spirit. Naia, it will be your job to co-pilot the yellow lion."
"I'm okay with that," Naia said as she nodded.
"Sounds good to me," Hunk put in as Allura continued.
"The red lion is extremely temperamental and hard to gain trust from, but will not let you down when you do. Even though it may be one of the smallest lions along with the green lion, it is mighty. Sachi, I have faith that you will co-pilot the red lion with pride."
"I think I am more than capable to handle it," Sachi said. Keith just crossed his arms.
"The black lion is the head and the leader of Voltron. It's co-pilot and paladin must know where their loyalties lie. This takes a person who people do not hesitate to follow, whether in times of need or not. Chassity, you will be Shiro's co-pilot."
"Alright!" Chassity shouted as she fist-pumped the air while jumping. "We won't let you down. Any of you."
"Glad to hear that, Chassity," Shiro said as he placed his right hand on her shoulder. Chassity held in her fangirl screams because SHIRO PLACED HIS HAND ON HER SHOULDER.
"Now, off to bed, the lot of you!" Coran said happily. "We have a full day ahead of us tomorrow. You co-pilots and paladins must learn how to form Voltron together. And the co-pilots should get to know their lions."
"Coran is right," Allura stated. "To work together all of you will spend tomorrow training together."
The co-pilots yawned in sync, staying up the night talking story was probably not the best choice since they've been up for about more than 24 hours now. Around 36. Probably more.
"That sound like a good idea," Chassity said as she yawned again. "Allura, can you show us where our rooms at?"
"Wait, we can't just let you say here!" Keith argued. The co-pilots just gave Keith tired 'really' looks and Chassity walked up to him.
"And why's that, Mullet?" she asked as she tiredly glared at him with her hands on her hips. Her friends just left with Allura. Chassity will figure out de way.
"We barely know any of you so how should we trust you?" he asked dangerously.
Shiro was about to step in between the two, but Lance held him back. The blue paladin wanted to see where this would go. And so did the green and yellow one too. And maybe the leader did too. Only a smidge.
"You know what? You're mean. But guess what so am I," Chassity said. "And I can use your shit against you."
Keith scoffed. "Like what?"
Chassity said only one word.
"Knife." Then she left. Keith's jaw hung open. He never told anyone about his dagger. Not even Shiro.
"Dude," Lance started as he placed his elbow on Keith's shoulder, "I think you just made yourself the worst enemy possible. A fangirl."
The other paladins just laughed as they one by one headed to their rooms.
Anyway, so the co-pilots got to their rooms and did their usual routines before bed and then went to sleep. So did the paladins in their own rooms.
Except one.
Chassity was tossing and turning in her bed. Even though she was sleep deprived, like her other friends who were already fast asleep, sleep would not come.
Her head was too full of thoughts about the story. She knew what would come, but not all were pleasant for her or everyone else. Especially when Shiro disappears. And she still had to figure out ways to prevent many deaths. Like her father's...
Chassity sighed as she sat up in her bed.
"Fuck sleep," she muttered to herself as she threw the blanket off of her. "I'm going to see my lion."
Before Chassity left her room, she grabbed her pillow and blanket.
~Time Skip Because It Would Be Boring Talking About How Chas Gets There~
Chassity sat in the pilot's chair, Shiro's chair.
She placed her hands on the controls.
"Hey, boy. Mind if I spend the night here?" she asked. A purr sound was heard in her mind and the girl smiled slightly.
Then, she made herself comfortable and went to sleep. She didn't care what everyone's reaction would be, because she made them act like that.
I hate life. Please enjoy this update. I will be focusing on this story a lot more than others. Why? I don't know. Mostly Voltron stories. Next chapter will be posted soon. Hopefully. Anyway, please vote, comment and follow!
