Note: I DO NOT own The Owl House or DC Comics so don't report me. This is for entertainment purposes only and I hope you enjoy the chapter.

Luz was sitting in her room, holding the purple cape Eda knitted for her as a surprise gift, reading a small note that read; "To a Young Witch. From her proud mentor. - Eda"

Our mute protagonist then puts on the cape as King looks at her.

King: Luz?

She ignores him as she enters a room full of medieval weaponry.

King: Luz, what are you doing?

Luz gave him a note that read; "Saving Eda."

King: But, Luz, the emperor will be there. He's the most powerful witch alive.

Luz hands him another note that read; "I don't care. It's my fault Eda got captured. I don't know if I'll be able to get Eda to recognize me, but I have to try. I will save her, Shazam or not."

King: Well, then, I'm going too.

Luz shook her head in disapproval.

King: Me and Eda don't always see eye-to-eye, but I do consider her family. I want her back as much as you do.

Luz smiles, giving King a kiss on the forehead before heading out into town.

They looked at a bunch of crystal balls that had the news channel on, saying that Eda would be petrified to stone by sundown at the Conformatorium.

Luz knew exactly what they had to do as a guard walked by.

King: Hey, over here!

The guard looked to see Luz and King standing on grass right next to a sign that says; "Do NOT step on grass."

The guard gasped as he arrests them, putting our duo in a carriage.

King: Well, that was easy.

He said as they were taken to the Conformatorium.

Guard: Sir, the Owl Lady's human student has been apprehended.

Warden Wrath: Ah, Luz the human. How I've waited to see you again. Now I will have my revenge and you will have front row seats to Eda's demise.

He opens the carriage door only to be assaulted by large plants.

Luz leaps out of the carriage, using her glyphs to subdue the guards. The warden escaped from the plants only to be trapped in ice as Luz approached him with a note that reads; "Where's Eda?"

Warden Wrath: She's in the holding cell in the dungeon!

King: Draw her a map!

He demanded as Luz held out a piece of paper and a pencil.

Some time later, Luz and King made their way through the castle, subduing dozens of guards on the way until they reach the holding cell doors.

King: I'll watch the door, you get in there and free Eda.

Luz nodded as she enters the room to see Eda chained up.

Eda sniffed the air and saw Luz, screeching and snarling at her before Luz used a light spell, turning Eda's eyes back to normal as she regains her intelligence.

Eda: Luz?! Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! What are you doing here?!

Luz wrote her a note which reads; "I'm getting you out of here."

Luz then used her fire glyph to try to destroy the chains but it didn't do a thing.

Eda: Your magic isn't strong enough for this. You need to leave. Now.

Luz shook her head, writing her a note; "It's my fault you were captured, Eda."

Eda: Kid, listen to me. I'm here because of my own actions. I went against Belos's law and . . . for a while, I was able to get away with it. But without magic, I can't do much. I don't regret anything. I lived freely and . . . I got to meet you. But if you stay here, I won't be able to protect you. And without your voice to transform, you can't even protect yourself. You need to leave. Now!

Luz shook her head and wrote a note; "I can't just leave you here. We're family. Us weirdos have to stick together. Remember?"

Eda then reached her hand into her hair, taking out a key and pressing the button as her portal opens up behind Luz.

Eda: You already have a family. Go back to them. And when you're home, use your fire magic to destroy the portal. I don't know why Belos wants it, but we can't take any chances.

She said, wrapping the key around Luz's neck as tears started welling up in the teen's eyes.

Luz then hugs Eda, mouthing the words "I love you, Eda."

Eda: . . . I love you too, kiddo.

Suddenly an alarm goes off as a door above Eda opens up.

Eda then pushed Luz away as her chains morphed into a cage and her pedestal began to raise itself from the ground.

Luz shook her head in disbelief as she tries to hold onto it.

Eda: I'm sorry.

She says, pushing Luz's hands off as she fell to the ground.

Luz raised her hand into the air and tried to call for Eda, but her voice was gone as Eda read her lips.

Eda: Goodbye, Luz.

She said as she disappeared from Luz's sight, the teen fell to her knees and began to cry.

The holding cell door opened as Lilith entered while holding King.

Lilith: Drat!

King: Let me go!

Lilith: I'm too late. At least I found you, human.

Luz wiped her tears and slowly stood up, clenching her fists. She then turns around, glaring at Lilith before opening her mouth in an attempt to scream as she charged towards Lilith using her fire magic only for Lilith to block it.

Lilith: I just wanna talk!

Luz then mouthed the words; "Talk to the glyph, Witch!" before using a plant glyph to restrain Lilith.

Lilith quickly blasted the plants away only for Luz to pounce on Lilith, grabbing and pulling the witch's hair.

Lilith: Stop! What is wrong with you?!

She yelled as they stumbled their way through the portal.

King: Luz!

He called out, following them into the portal.

Luz and Lilith fell to the ground, now being in the Human Realm.

Luz was surprised by this as she took in the scenery of the same forest outside her hometown.

King: Luz, watch out!

He yelled as Lilith tried blasting her with magic only for Luz to dodge.

The teen tried using a fire glyph, but nothing happened, shocking Luz as she was tackled to the ground by Lilith.

Luz fought back, frantically trying to get Lilith off of her.

Lilith: Hold still, human!

She yelled, using magic on Luz.

Luz: Get off of me!!

She screamed before gasping upon realizing she had her voice back. She was about to yell Shazam only for Lilith to cover her mouth with her hand.

Lilith: Listen to me, I'm here to help you!

Luz stopped struggling, confused by this as Lilith sighs.

Lilith them explains everything to Luz. How she and Eda used to be close, how and why she cursed Eda and how Belos lied to her about curing Eda's curse.

She says, removing her hand from Luz's mouth as she spoke.

Luz: How do I know I can trust you?

Lilith got off of the teen and gave her Eda's staff.

Luz: Owlbert, you're okay!

Luz then stands up.

Luz: Okay, Lilith, I can't say I see you as one of the good guys . . . but you're right. We need to work together if we're going to save Eda.

Lilith: Thank you.

She said, entering the portal with King. Luz took one long look at the forest, feeling as if it's been years since she's been in the Human realm before entering the portal.

They walk through the castle until they reach a hall with a platform in the middle.

Lilith: You can take this up to the stage where they're holding Edalyn.

Luz: You're not coming with us?

Lilith: No. I will stay in the Emperor's Coven and make sure nothing like this ever happens again.

Luz: That's great to hear . . . wait, why aren't there any guards around?

Suddenly, Lilith was grabbed by a tendril and so was King before a light appeared, revealing Emperor Belos sitting upon a throne made of bones.

Emperor Belos: Ah, Lilith, you chose the wrong side.

He says before they are taken away.

Luz: Guys!

She yelled before hands came up from the floor, grabbing Luz by the legs.

Emperor Belos: Up-pup-pup! I'd actually like to have a word with you, human.

Luz: Let my friends go or else!

She yells, using Owlbert to free herself from restrainment before using an ice spell. Unfortunately, she missed as the emperor stares at her.

Emperor Belos: Alright . . .

His body then seems to melt before reappearing behind her.

Emperor Belos: I'll play.

He says and with a flick of his finger, he surrounds Luz in a an aura of red magic, throwing her into a statue.

The statue's axe then fell, Luz quickly dodging it.

The Emperor then attacks, using an earth spell, using a large version of the hands to grab her.

But Luz was quick, using her magic to defend before riding Owlbert into the air.

She charged towards Belos only for a giant worm-like creature to appear.

Luz was shocked by this as she entered the creature's mouth, the teen was quick to use her fire glyph to blow it up from the inside before falling to the floor.

Emperor Belos: What's wrong, human? I thought you wanted to fight.

He said as Luz looks around to try and find him only for hands to come out of the floor, restraining Luz as the teen fell to her knees.

Emperor Belos: Had enough?

He said, revealing himself.

Luz: What's your endgame?! Huh?! What do you want with me?!

Emperor Belos: Settle down, child. I am merely a humble messenger for the Titan. In the Grand Scheme of things, the Owl Lady's life is inconsequential. But then you showed up. If you want to save your mentor, give me the portal to the human realm.

Luz: What?

She then looks up to the ceiling upon hearing Eda screeching in pain.

Emperor Belos: You probably think we want to invade the human realm, but the Titan's will is not so boorish. You'll understand soon. Tick tock, human. The Owl Lady doesn't have much time left.

Luz: . . . Do you really think I'm that stupid?

Emperor Belos: Hm?

Luz: It doesn't take the Wisdom of Solomon to know that giving you the portal is a bad idea.

Emperor Belos: Wisdom of Solomon . . . ?

Luz: A wise Middle Eastern King from ancient times. I also have the Strength of Hercules, the Roman God of Strength. The Endurance of Atlas, one of the many titans of Ancient Greece. The Power of Zeus, the Greek God of the Sky and Thunder. The Courage of Achilles, a legendary hero of Ancient Greece. And the Speed of Mercury, Messenger of the Roman Gods. Those are the powers the Wizard passed on to me!

Emperor Belos: Really now? And just what is this wizard's name?

Luz grinned.

Luz: Shazam!

She yelled as a bolt of lightning strikes the ceiling and onto Luz as she transforms into her alter ego.

Emperor Belos: What?!

He yelled in surprise as Luz grabbed Belos by the neck before flying straight into the air, making a large hole in the ceiling as everyone outside watched in shock and surprise as Luz flew over 100 feet into the air, staring down at Belos.

Luz: You may worship a Titan, but I have the powers of two humans, one Titan and three Gods!

She yells before blasting Belos with lightning as the emperor began to fall towards the ground.

Belos quickly used his magic to melt his body before the lightning hits the ground, much to the shock of the crowd and the Emperor's Coven.

The emperor morphed his body back to normal as he looked up to see Luz staring down at him.

Emperor Belos: Impudent little . . .

He said before raising his staff into the air as he fires multiple types of magic blasts towards Luz.

Our hero then used her flight and super speed to dodge the blasts before making her way down to Belos and punching him in the face, cracking his mask as he was sent flying.

Belos managed to stop himself from falling off the arena as his eerie, glowing blue eye was revealed.

Kikimora: My liege!

Luz: Look at you, Belos. The mighty Emperor of the Boiling Isles is losing to a teenager. How sad is that?

She said as she was ready to fire another lightning blast at the so-called emperor.

King: Luz, help!

Lilith: Edalyn can't last much longer!

They yelled as Luz saw Edalyn's lower body had already been turned to stone.

Luz looks back at Belos, she wanted to hurt him, punish him for all he's done, but soon gave in.

Luz: You ever come after me or my friends again, I'll make you regret it.

She says before rushing towards the statue that was hurting Eda, shattering it with a single punch and ripping their cage open.

Emperor Belos: Seize them!

The injured emperor yelled as guards came in running to apprehend them.

Luz: Hold onto Eda!

She said, grabbing King and Lilith and putting them on Eda's back before lifting the Owl Beast, flying everyone out of there as the Emperor looks on.

Emperor Belos: She is more powerful than I had realized . . .

He says to himself before clearing his throat as he looks on towards the crowd.

Emperor Belos: Children of the Isles, the Titan has told me to spare the Owl Lady's life. But in return, her curse will strip away all her powers. Let her monstrous form be a lesson about the dangers of wild magic.

He said, though his voice was calm, deep down, he was furious with Luz attacking him, live, on camera.

Luz carried Eda, Lilith and King all the way to the Owl House, carefully putting Eda down on the ground.

Luz: Even with the Wisdom of Solomon, I don't know what to do. Lilith?

Lilith: No amount of elixir can heal her now. But I know a way to help her.

She says before making her way to Eda, putting her hands on Eda's cheeks.

Lilith: Oh, sister. I should have done this a long time ago . . . with this spell declared, let the pain be shared.

Suddenly, Eda and Lilith levitated into the air and were both engulfed in a bright light.

Luz and King looked away so they wouldn't be blinded until the light dissipated.

Eda was no longer in her Owl Beast form, but both her and Lilith had some slight differences. Eda's left eye was silver as was Lilith's right eye, she also has a streak of white hair on the right side of her head.

Luz: Eda!

Eda chuckled as Luz grabbed her in a bear hug, King joining in as Eda hugged her back.

Luz: Can you still do magic?

Eda tried making a magic circle only for it to shatter like glass.

Eda: That's a no. It'll take some time to get used to this.

Lilith: I feel that I've been weakened as well.

Luz: It's okay. I can teach you what I know, and what we don't know, we'll learn together.

She said, handing Eda one of her glyphs, the Owl Lady tapping it as she used a light spell. This made Eda smile as she pats Luz on the head, despite her being shorter than the transformed teen.

Eda: Thanks, kid. I'm looking forward to that.

Luz then thought of something.

Luz: Eda, take my hand.

Eda: Huh? What for?

Luz: I said I'd teach you everything I know. That means EVERYTHING.

She said, taking Eda's hand into hers.

Luz: Okay, Eda . . . say the word please.

Eda: What word?

Luz: The one I say to transform.

Eda: . . . Shazam?

Out of nowhere, a bolt of lightning hits Eda.

Eda: What the heck, Luz?! Are you trying to . . . huh?

The Owl Lady says, realizing that she has transformed just like Luz, wearing a red costume with a lightning bolt on the chest area, the difference being that she didn't have a cape. Not to mention she was much more muscular than before.

Lilith: Edalyn?

Eda: Woah! Lily, check me out! I feel so powerful! And I'm jacked, too.

She says, flexing her muscles as Luz chuckled while King tried to touch Eda's muscles.

King: Do me next! I wanna be powerful too!

He yells, everyone laughing together until a bolt of lightning comes out of nowhere.

Everyone was shocked by this as the Wizard and Tawny appeared before them.

Eda: Who the heck is this?!

Luz: Wizard? What are you doing here?

Wizard: We need to talk.

Luz: About . . . ?

Wizard: About this.

He motions to Eda.

Luz: I gave Eda your power. Is that bad?

Wizard: That depends on her. Edalyn Clawthorne, I am the wizard, Shazam.

Eda: Oh yeah. So you're the wizard Luz has been talking about.

Wizard: Yes. I came to see for myself after you were given the power.

Eda: And?

Wizard: Luz. Are you sure you want to bestow my power to Ms. Clawthorne?

Luz: Yes. I trust Eda. I can teach her how to use the power and she can even help me fight Adam when he breaks free.

Eda: Hold it. Are you trying to tell me that I can't handle it?

Wizard: No. But I am concerned that you will not wield my power responsibly.

Luz: Eda will be responsible, Wizard. I swear. Right, Eda?

Eda sighs.

Eda: Yeah, yeah, I'll be responsible with your power, all right?

Wizard: Hmm . . . very well. Tawny and I must return to the Rock of Eternity. We will be watching over you both.

He says, turning around and taking a few steps before stopping.

Wizard: One more thing, Luz.

Luz: Yes, Wizard?

Wizard: Know that if you wish to bestow the power upon others, you can only do so with six others.

Luz: Me plus six? Like the seven thrones in the Rock of Eternity?

Wizard: Yes. But I warn you, Luz. Choose the other five champions carefully.

Luz: I will, Wizard. And, can I . . . ?

Wizard: Of course.

He says as Luz pets Tawney before the two disappeared in a flash of lightning.

King: Awww . . . I wanted the power too!

Luz: Would you be responsible with it?

King: Mmm . . . Nope!

Luz: Exactly.

Lilith: Can someone please explain to me what just happened?

Luz: Yeah, let's just head inside first. Eda?

The Owl Lady nods.

Luz & Eda: Shazam!

They said as two lightning bolts struck them, turning them back to normal as they headed inside the owl house.

Meanwhile, Emperor Belos stood within a room as Kikimora enters.

Kikimora: Sire, those miscreants are still at large. Please, allow me to capture them-

Emperor Belos: Worry not, Kiki. We'll be keeping an eye on the residents of the owl house.

He says before nodding to a hooded figure in the doorway, wearing a golden mask. The figure nods back before leaving the room.

Emperor Belos: We may not possess the portal to the human realm, but the Day of Unity is almost upon us. And we have much work to do.

He says as he watched several men working on some kind of large machine.

Kikimora: As you wish, my liege. I am also happy to report our scouts having discovered an ancient relic.

Emperor Belos: Oh?

Kikimora motions for the men to bring it to Belos, to which they carried a large, black, stone box with a lightning bolt symbol on it along with a few cracks on it.

Emperor Belos: Well . . . this was unexpected.

Kikimora: We believe this box is connected to that human's strange power.

Emperor Belos: Store it within my chambers. I wish to examine this box myself.

He says to which the men carries the box where the emperor told them to put it.

The men then left the box in the room, closing the door.

After a minute or so, the lightning bolt symbol starts to glow yellow as another crack appears on the box.
