It was the very next day after Luz had been given Shazam's powers.

The teen was standing at the bus as Camila exits the house.

Camila: Oh my baby.

She says, hugging her daughter.

Camila: Now don't you worry. Summer camp will be for three months. You'll be so busy balancing checkbooks and learning to appreciate public radio, the time will fly by.

Luz: But mom, I don't like any of that stuff. I like editing anime clips to music and reading fantasy books with convoluted backstories.

Camila: Mija, your fantasy world is holding you back. Do you have any friends? Real ones, not imagined or drawn or reptilian? Summer camp is a chance for you to make friends, but you'll have to try. Can you do that for me?

Luz: . . . Yes, mom.

She says begrudgingly as she puts her Good Witch Azura book in the trash can.

Camila then kisses her on the forehead.

Camila: I have to go to work now. Your bus will be here soon, text me as soon as you get there.

She then says goodbye to Luz in Spanish before taking off.

Luz let out a sigh, she didn't want to go to Summer Camp at all. But she doesn't want to disappoint her mother so she has no other choice.

As soon as her mom was out of sight, she immediately looks into the trash can to get her book back.

She gasped upon realizing that the book was gone.

She then noticed a tiny owl carrying a sack full of things in it's mouth, her book was among them as the tiny owl hops away.

Luz: Tiny trash thief!

She yelled as she runs after the tiny owl all the way into the nearby forest. She noticed the abandoned house up ahead, stopping in the process.

She shook her head as she continues to follow the tiny owl inside the house.

Luz: Stop adorably hopping away you . . . huh?

She says in confusion as she realized she was inside a huge tent full of junk.

Woman: Finally, you're back!

Luz approaches the edge of the tent, taking a peak as a woman wearing a red dress and bandana is with the tiny owl.

Woman: Now, let's see what we've got here . . .

She says as she looks into the sack and takes out a phone.

Woman: Garbage . . .

She takes out a diamond ring.

Woman: Garbage . . .

She then takes out a shiny trophy.

Woman: Garbage . . .

She then gasps and takes out some drooping eyeglasses, putting them on.

Woman: Now this . . . this will make me rich! And this?

She says, taking out Luz's book.

Woman: Meh, this'll make good kindling.

She says, putting it over a candle to light it in fire.

Luz quickly jumps out of the tent and snatches the book.

Luz: Excuse me. Sorry. That's mine. Thank you!

She says as she runs back into the tent and towards the portal only for it to close as the woman enters the tent.

Woman: You're not going anywhere.

Luz: Don't come any closer! I got a magic word and I'm not afraid to fight you with it!

Woman: Fight you? Why would I fight . . . a potential customer?

Luz: . . . Huh?

She says as the woman takes her outside the tent and sits her on a wooden stool.

Woman: Can I offer you a human foot filled with holes?

She says, taking out a pair of crocs.

Woman: A bar of green human candy?

She says, taking out men's deodorant.

Woman: Or how about this black shadow box that reflects only sadness?

Luz couldn't help but laugh as the woman holds up a portable television.

Luz: That's not all it can do. Here, let me see it.

She says before taking the portable tv and putting batteries in it. It turns on, the screen showing a man dancing to music.

This grabbed the attention of all the weird and strange citizens as they all walked up to Luz and the woman.

Person 1: I'll pay 40 snails for the screaming box!

Person 2: I'll give you 100!

Person 3: Can I eat the tiny person inside?

The crowd starting clamoring, ready to spend some money on whatever this woman had.

Woman: What did you say your name was?

Luz: I'm Luz. Luz Noceda.

Woman: Well, Luz, that was pretty clever. For a human.

Luz: Thanks. So what's your name?

Woman: Who am I? I'm Eda the Owl Lady! The most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles! I am respected, feared-

Guard: Busted!

A guard said with an angry tone as the crowd immediately runs away.

Guard: Eda the Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic demeanors!

He says while holding up a wanted poster of her.

Guard: I will now take you to the Conformatorium.

Eda: Would guys quit following me around?! I haven't done squat!

Guard: And you're coming too!

He says, grabbing Luz by the arm.

Luz: Me?! What did I do?!

Guard: Fraternizing with a criminal!

Luz: Hold it! I didn't even know she was a criminal! And even if I did, I was only talking to her!

Eda: Forget it, kid. Let's do what he says. Just give me a second to grab my stuff.

She says, grabbing a large staff and hitting the guard in the face with it, knocking him to the ground.

Eda then used her magic staff to levitate all her stuff, shrinking them into a bag.

Eda: Follow me, human!

She says while carrying the bag to which Luz agrees as the guard starts getting back up.

Eda then grabs Luz's arm and uses her magic staff to fly into the sky as the guard fails to catch them.

Luz: Woah! Is this the other realm the wizard was talking about?

Eda: Wizard?

Luz: Oh yeah, yesterday, I was following this cat and got into a bus with it. But the bus was pretty weird and we ended up inside a cave with some statues. Then I met an old wizard that chose me to be his successor because his old apprentice turned bad a long time ago and that I have to learn how to use his powers and fight the bad guy when he escapes from his prison. Then the Wizard made a portal that brought me home.

Eda: . . . Um, okay then. That's an awful lot to take in. So what powers did he give you?

Luz: Magic, I guess. I just got them yesterday so I'm not really sure.

Eda: Magic?

Eda chuckled.

Eda: I'm sorry, kid. But humans can't do magic.

Luz: Well, I can. The wizard said so.

Eda: Sure he did.

Luz: No, I'm serious! Go to the ground and I'll show you!

Eda: All right then. We're already home anyway.

Luz: Huh?

She said as they land in front of a house far away from the town.

Hooty: Hoot. Hoot. Password please. Ow!

He said as Eda poked his eyes.

Eda: We don't have time for this, Hooty. Let us in.

Hooty: All right, all right, geez! You could've just asked! . . . Ow! . . . Hoot!

He said as he opens the door for them as they enter.

Luz: So is Hooty a living door or something?

Eda: Pretty much, yeah. He's kinda annoying though. Anyway, welcome to the Owl House!

She says, snapping her fingers which lights up dozens of candles simultaneously.

Eda: This is where I hide away from the pressures of modern life, cops and a lot of ex-boyfriends.

Luz: Your house is beautiful, Eda. Do you live here alone?

Suddenly there were loud thuds coming from upstairs.

Eda: Actually, I have a roommate.

Luz looks towards the doorway to see a large shadow approaching.

???: Who dares intrude upon I, the King of Demons?!

A voice said as the shadow reveals itself to be small fluffy demon with a skull face. He was wearing a towel around his waist, head and holding a rubber duck in his paw.

Luz's eyes widened, her cheeks turning red as she gasped.

Luz: Ay que lindo!

She yells, tackling the little demon and scooping him up into her arms.

Luz: Eda, he is SO CUTE! Who's a widdle guy?! Who's a widdle guy?! Is it you?! Is it you?!

She squeals as she hugs him tight.

King: No, I don't know who your little guy is! Eda! Who is this monster?!

He yelled as he tried to get out of Luz's grip.

Eda: Oh, this is Luz, the human.

She said, pulling Luz away from him as the teen was trying to get out of her grip to continue hugging King.

Eda: She's here to help us with our little situation.

Luz: Situation? What do you mean?

Eda: Well, King here, was once a mighty King of Demons until his crown of power was stolen and he became . . . this.

Luz: You mean this little bundle of joy?

She said, hugging him again.

Eda: The crown is being held by Warden Wrath and locked away behind a magical force field that only a human can break through. If you can help us retrieve his crown, I'll be sure to pay you whatever ya want. So what do ya say, kid? Wanna help us out?

Luz: I don't need money. But if I help you, I only want to stay here at the Owl House.

Eda: Really?

Luz: Yeah, the wizard sent me here for a reason you know. Besides, it's either here or summer camp and I REALLY don't want to go to summer camp. So yeah, let's do it!

Eda: Then off we go!

She said as they go for a ride of Eda's magic staff, making their way to some sort of prison.

Eda: Welcome to the Conformatorium, a place for those considered unsuitable for society.

King: Okay, Luz. You and I will sneak to the top of the tower and get my crown back!

Eda: And I'll make sure the warden is distracted while you do that.

Luz: Well, what are we waiting for?

Eda: That's the spirit!

She then used her staff, creating a disc of light beneath their feet.

Eda: Hang on tight.

She said as the disc takes Luz and King high into the air.

Eda: I'll see you at the top!

She said as Luz and King made it to one of the tower's windows, jumping in.

They then make their way to a large room with dozens upon dozens of prison cells.

Lady: Hey, how'd you get out of your cell?

Luz: Oh, I'm not a prisoner or a criminal.

King: Not yet, you're not.

Luz: So what are you in for?

Lady: I write fanfiction about food falling in love.

Guy: I'm in here because I like to eat my eyeballs.

He said, eating one just before it grows back.

Girl: We are agents of free expression! They can never silence us!

Lady: Oh yeah, and she's here because she's really into conspiracy theories.

Girl: The world is a simulation! We are playthings for a higher being!

Luz: But those aren't crimes. None of you guys did anything wrong. You're all just a bunch of weirdos . . . like me.

Suddenly, loud footsteps can be heard heading in their direction.

Lady: It's the warden, hide!

Luz quickly runs into an open prison cell, closing the door as a large masked figure appears.

Warden Wrath: What are you all whispering about?

He then looks at a wanted poster of Eda that Luz had dropped.

Warden Wrath: Ah, the Owl Lady.

He said, crushing the wanted poster in his hand before morphing his hand into a mallet, smashing it against Luz's prison bars.

Warden Wrath: I'll get my hands on her soon enough.

Girl: Fight against the oppressor! We will resist! We will conquer! We will never be afraid, you old creep!

The warden then used a lever which opens the conspiracy girl's cell.

Girl: Hooray! I'm free!

But she wasn't as the warden grabbed her.

Warden Wrath: Let this be a lesson to all of you. There's no place in society for you if you can't fit in.

He said as he took the conspiracy girl away, prompting Luz to exit her cell.

Luz: Don't worry, I can't get you out here.

She said as she tries to lift the lever but it wouldn't budge.

Luz: No! My weak nerd arms! Okay then, Shaza-

Luz stops herself, if she used her power, the thunderbolt will just alert the warden and the guards of her presence and end up being a prisoner herself.

Lady: Forget about it, kid. Just get out of here while you still can. Enjoy freedom for us.

Luz didn't want to leave them behind but she couldn't risk getting caught as she left with her head down as she walked through the hallway.

Eda: Hey. I just checked. The warden's distracted tormenting some tiny creature. We should have plenty of time.

Luz ignored her as she continued on until they reached a large door.

King jumped onto the door handle trying to open it, he struggled a bit but managed to rip it off and open the door.

King: Yes, my crown is near! I can sense it's power! Ow!

He yelled as he tried to get through the fire fiend which zapped him.

Eda: This is it, go ahead, kid.

Luz reached her hand out as it went into the force field, nothing happened so Luz confidently went through it to see a large pile of items and looked up to see something at the top.

Luz came out holding a Burger Queen crown.

King: My crown!

He said as a confused Luz hands it to him, putting it on.

King: Yes . . . yes! I can feel my powers returning!

Luz: That crown doesn't really give him any powers, does it?

Eda: Nope!

Luz frowned, making Eda sigh.

Eda: Look, Luz, King and I don't have much in this world. Only each other. So if that crown is important to him, it's important to me too. Besides, us weirdos have to stick together. You know?

This made Luz smile.

Eda: Now that's over with, let's get outta here before the warden loses his head.

Warden Wrath: Too late.

He said, morphing his hand into an axe, beheading Eda as her head fell into Luz's arms, making the teen scream.

Eda: . . . Ow! I hate it when that happens.

Luz screams again, shocked that Eda is still alive somehow.

Luz: Eda, are you okay?!

Eda: Yeah. This just happens when you get older.

Luz: Where I'm from, this usually kills people.

She said as several guards ran into the room, surrounding them.

Warden Wrath: Finally, I have you cornered, Eda the Owl Lady.

He then takes King's crown as the demon tries to get it back but he was too small and couldn't jump high enough to take it.

Warden Wrath: My guards couldn't capture you, so I figured you'd come crawling here if I took your pet's toy.

He said, crushing the burger queen crown.

King: No! Not my power!

He said as he starts to cry.

Eda: What do you want from me?! I never broke any of your stupid laws . . . in front of you!

Warden Wrath: I want you . . . to go out with me.

He said that last part while holding a bouquet of flowers in his hands.

Eda: Huh?

Luz: Say what now?

Guard: You got this, boss!

He said as the warden gives his guards a thumbs up.

Warden Wrath: You've always eluded our capture. You've always been the one who got away. I find that alluring.

Luz: I hate everything you're saying right now.

Warden Wrath: You stay out of this!

He yells, grabbing Luz and making her drop Eda's head.

Luz tried to say Shazam but the warden's tendrils covered her mouth as he held Eda by the hair with his other hand.

Warden Wrath: So how about it, Owl Lady? The most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles and the feared Warden Wrath. We would be the ultimate power couple!

Eda looked to see both Luz and King being restrained as she sighs.

Eda: All right, warden. You win. I just have something to say first. Come close . . . closer . . . a little closer . . . yeah, that's good.

She then spits in the warden's face, making him drop Luz.

Warden Wrath: That's disgusting! Do you have any idea how many germs are in your mouth?!

Luz: Shazam!

The teen yelled as a thunderbolt hits her.

Warden Wrath: What the?!

Everyone, even Eda and King, were shocked to see that Luz had transformed into an adult wearing a purple superhero costume and white cape with a lightning bolt on her chest.

Luz: That's right! I'm big and I'm bad!

She said, uppercutting the warden into a wall.

Luz: Woah! I'm strong!

The guards went in to attack but Luz moved too fast for them to react as she knocked them out with a single punch.

Luz: I'm fast!

She says before grabbing King, Eda's head, body and staff as she runs away.

Warden Wrath: Owl Lady . . . I won't let you get away again!

He said as both his arms morphed into dozens of tendrils as he goes after them.

Luz saw the prisoners up ahead and used her speed and strength to quickly release them from their prison cells. She carries them in her arms with relatives ease as they continue their escape.

She bursts through the prison doors as she leaps off into a wide open space below with the warden right behind them.

Luz lands on her feet, quickly putting everyone down as she faces the warden.

Luz: Eda, get them out of here! I'll hold him off!

Eda: You sure about this?

Luz: . . . Yeah.

Eda: All right, let's go!

She said as she and the others run away.

Warden Wrath: I don't think so!

He yelled, morphing his hands into axes as he goes in for the attack.

But Luz quickly blocked his path, punching the warden in the face as he was knocked to the ground.

The Warden gets up, removing his mask and revealing his face with tiny yellow eyes and massive jaws filled with sharp teeth.

He opens his mouth and breathes fire, engulfing Luz in flames.

Luz screamed but soon realized that she felt nothing.

Luz: Wait . . .

Warden Wrath: What?!

He yelled in surprise as Luz was completely unharmed.

Luz: I'm invulnerable!

Luz laughs excitedly.

Luz: You're dead.

She said with a serious tone before kicking the warden below the belt. The warden fell to the floor, squealing in pain.

Luz: Bet you weren't expecting that, huh?

She said, pointing her finger towards the warden which shoots a small bolt of lightning at him.

Warden Wrath: Ow!

Luz then had a mischievous smile on her face before generating electricity in the palm of her hands and blasting the warden, creating an explosion.

Luz: See ya!

She says, leaping into the air at an incredible height.

Luz: Woooooohooooooooooooooo!

She yells with joy as she crash lands to the ground way ahead of the others.

King: Luz!

Eda: Did you actually beat the warden?

Luz: Heck yeah, I did! I zapped him with mah lightnin' hands!

She says, shooting lightning bolts towards a rock.

Eda: I guess you weren't kidding about those powers. But I gotta say, I'm kinda jealous. I'd kill for a body like that.

She said as she starts touching Luz's muscly arms.

King: Me too! The chaos I could create with such power!

Luz laughs as they said goodbye to the escaped prisoners before returning to the Owl House.

Eda: You did good, kid. As promised, I'll let you stay here with us, rent free.

Luz: Thanks, Eda.

Eda: By the way, are you gonna be stuck like this forever?

Luz: Oh, no. I just gotta say Shazam-

A thunderbolt hits Luz, making Eda and King take cover as it turns her back to normal.

Luz: And I'll change back and forth whenever I want.

Eda: Geez, kid, a little warning would be nice!

King: Are you trying to kill us?!

Luz: Sorry!

She chuckles with a sheepish smile.

Some time later, Luz was in her new room as she lies on her sleeping bag. Her buzzes as she sees a text from her mom that reads; "How's Summer Camp?"

Luz wasn't sure how to respond until King appears.

King: Your sleep cocoon looks fluffy.

Luz smiles as she pats her sleeping bag. King comes over, spinning in circles a couple times before lying down and falling asleep.

Luz then looks back at her phone and replies; "I think I'm going to like it here." before falling asleep.
