Note: I DO NOT own The Owl House or DC Comics so don't report me. This is for entertainment purposes only. Also, any art I may feature in my books are not mine. I couldn't draw if my life depended on it. With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy the chapter.

We begin our story with a 14 year old girl named Luz Noceda in the principal's office along with her mother.

Luz: And that's the end.

She says with a smile as she held a Good Witch Azura action figure in one hand and a live snake in the other.

Camila: The end of what?

Luz: My book report.

She says as the snake bites the action figure.

Luz: I think I knocked it out of the park.

Principal Hal: Your book report is the reason you're in here.

He says as they can hear students screaming, being based by snakes.

Luz: Oh. So that's where the backup snakes were.

Camila: And what were you going to do with this?

She says, holding up some large fireworks tied together.

Luz: That was for the act three closer . . .

Camila: Mija, I love your creativity, but it's gotten out of hand. Do you remember why were in the principal's office the last three times?

Luz: Yeah . . .

Camila: We all love that you express yourself, but if you can't learn to separate fantasy from reality, you may need to spend the summer here.

She says, handing her daughter a brochure of the Reality Check Summer Camp.

Luz: . . . Don't worry, mom. I won't let you down. No more weirdness!

She says before the snake escapes her hand and lunges towards the principal, biting his face.

Luz: That doesn't count, right?

Unfortunately for our protagonist, it was decided that she'd go to this summer camp.

Luz wasn't happy about this as she went for a walk a couple days after going to the principal's office.

Luz: This isn't fair, I don't want to go to summer camp.

She says before kicking an empty soda can away.

She sighs as she sits on a bench, she has to go tomorrow, but she doesn't want that.

She then realized that something nuzzling her leg, she looked down to see an orange tabby cat meowing at her.

Luz: Aww, you're so cute! Come here, kitty!

She said as she tries to pet it, but the cat was quick as it ran off.

Luz: Hey, wait, come back!

She pleads as she went after the cat.

The feline ran across the street with cars driving by, thankfully, it didn't get hit.

Luz looked both ways, seeing that the cars were far away enough as she ran across the street.

The cat was waiting for her as she got closer to it.

Luz: It's dangerous out here, little guy. Just hold still and-

She was cut off by the cat running away again.

Luz: Oh come on!

She yelled as she ran after the cat again. After a few minutes, Luz was getting tired of running as she sees the cat boarding a bus.

Luz continued to run, catching up to the bus and entering it. She pays the fee with some change and follows the cat inside.

Luz then picks up the cat in her arms, panting.

Luz: Finally . . . caught you . . .

She then realized something strange about the bus.

Luz: Huh . . . there's no one here. Wait! Where's the driver?!

She yelled as she realized that the bus was driving itself.

Luz: Okay, time to go!

She says with worry as she approaches the door only for the bus to speed up, making Luz fall into one of the seats.

She was shocked to see that the bus was now surging with electricity.

Luz: What the heck is going on?!

She yells, holding onto the cat as the bus goes faster than any normal bus could before coming to an abrupt stop.

Luz fell out the seat, making sure to protect the cat from the fall as she hits the floor.

The electricity was gone now as Luz sees the bus door open by itself. She quickly runs out the bus with the cat still in her arms.

She immediately stops upon realizing that they were inside what looked like a cave.

Luz: What the . . . ?

She says as the bus door closes and drives off.

Luz: Hey, wait! Come back!

She yells before the bus seemingly disappears out of thin air.

Luz: Oh man . . . where even are we?

She says before the cat jumps out of her arms and runs off.

Luz: Hey! Kitty, wait!

She yells as she runs after the cat a third time. She ran as the cat went around a corner, she too goes by the corner only to stop upon seeing the cat standing next to seven, large statues of strange creatures with words inscribed on the pedestals beneath them.

The cat meows at her as the teen approaches the statues and reads the inscriptions.

Luz: Pride . . . Envy . . . Greed . . . Hatred . . . Selfishness . . . Laziness . . . Injustice? What does all this even mean?

???: Greetings, Luz Noceda, it is wonderful to finally meet you.

Luz jumped as she looked to her right to see an elderly man wearing a hood, sitting on a throne alongside six other empty ones.

Luz: Who are you?! And how do you know my name?!

She panicked.

???: I know many things, child. You see, we have been watching you for a long time now, both me and my friend.

The elder said as the orange tabby cat leaped onto his lap.

Luz: Who are you guys?

???: This is Tawny. And I am the wizard, Shazam.

He says as lightning surged throughout his hand which shocked Luz.

Luz: Woah! Wait, you're a wizard? As in . . . you can do magic?

Shazam: That is correct.

Luz: That's so cool! I didn't think magic was actually real!

She says in excitement.

Luz: But what exactly am I doing here?

Shazam: . . . I was hoping this day would come upon your 18th birthday, but unfortunately, the threat will be upon us sooner than expected, Luz.

Luz: Threat? What threat?

Shazam: 5,000 years ago, I was but one of seven members of the Circle of Eternity. I had chosen a human named Teth-Adam as our champion, a defender of all magic and the realms. But doing so was my greatest mistake as Adam had become corrupted by the power, succumbing to the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man and betrayed us.

He says, pointing towards the seven statues.

Shazam: He killed my friends without mercy until only I remained. It was quite difficult, but I managed to imprison Adam within a sealed box and hide it in another realm. For the last 5,000 years I have been in search of a new champion, one who is truly worthy of the power and will defeat Adam once and for all. That is why I sent Tawny to bring you here, to the Rock of Eternity. The seal has begun to break much faster than I had anticipated, Adam will eventually break free. Which is why I wish to give you my power, so that you may learn how to control and use it to help others and defeat Adam when the time comes.

Luz: Woah, hold on! That's a lot to take in! Also . . . why would you choose me to be your champion? I'm nothing special.

Shazam: And yet, despite others wanting you to be "normal" as they say, you remain true to yourself as the kind, gentle, pure hearted girl you have always been.

Luz: Aw, thanks! So, um . . . what is this power anyway?

Shazam: Luz Noceda, I wish to lend you the powers of Shazam. With it, you will have the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the endurance of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles and the speed of Mercury.

Luz: Wow! That's pretty cool!

Shazam: Now then, Luz, do you wish to be my successor and be gifted with all my powers?

Luz thought about it, as much as she didn't want to disappoint her mother, she knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Only an idiot would say no.

Luz: . . . Mr. Shazam, I humbly accept your proposal.

She says with a bow as Shazam smiles.

Shazam: Very well. Now then, take my hand, child.

Luz did as he said, holding the wizard's hand.

Luz: So how does this work?

Shazam: Say my name.

Luz: Your name? You mean Shazam?

Suddenly a bolt of lightning comes out of nowhere, hitting Luz from above.

The smoke had cleared as Luz was coughing.

Luz: What the heck was that?! Wait . . .

Luz felt different, she looked at herself to see that she was taller now, her voice had changed and she had muscles too. Not only that, but she was also wearing a purple costume, a white cape and a lightning bolt symbol on the suit's chest area.

Luz: Woah! What happened?!

Shazam: You have inherited my powers, Luz.

Luz: Woah . . .

She was still shocked and surprised by all of this as Shazam raised his hand, creating a portal.

Shazam: Now go, Luz Noceda. Return to your home.

Luz: Oh, thanks!

She says, approaching the portal before Shazam clears his throat.

Shazam: Luz.

Luz: Yeah?

Shazam: Remember, you must keep this a secret and learn how to use your powers. And you must be responsible with them.

Luz: I won't let you down, Shazam!

She says as a lightning bolt hits her, turning her back to normal.

Luz: Hey, I'm back to normal!

She says with a smile.

Shazam: Indeed. Your power comes with your transformation by speaking my name.

Luz: Oh. So . . . what do I call you so I don't transform by accident?

Shazam chuckled.

Shazam: "The Wizard" shall suffice.

Luz: Okie dokie then! See you later, Wizard!

She says, entering the portal as she is returned home.

She sees her house just a few blocks away and runs on home. Hopefully, she hasn't been gone for too long. She wouldn't want her mother to get worried.
