Bang Chan

"Why are you late?"

Ignoring Woojin's sharp glare, I took my boots off then walked over to the dim-lit kitchen. He followed me closely.

"Chan. What took you so long?"

God, this persistent man.. "Nothing, really." I replied as I threw open the fridge door. I grabbed a bottle of water and twisted it open, gulping down the cold liquid.

"Did you find the target?" Woojin was now standing against the kitchen counter, arms crossed over his chest. I threw him an annoyed glance and looked away. I shut the fridge, exhaling.

"I'm tired, I'm going to bed."

I could feel Woojin's hardened glare of disappointment burn holes into my back as I made way to the couch.

"G'night, Sungie." I bent over to softly tousle Jisung's chestnut hair. The boy was knocked out asleep, with Changbin by his side.

"Is Seungmin asleep?" I nonchalantly asked Woojin, totally ignoring his staring daggers at me.

"Yes. Chan, tell me. Did you find the target?"

I huffed in irritation. "God dammit Woojin I don't know. I don't know. I don't think I can do this."

"What the fuck are you saying?" Woojin spat.

I held a finger against my lips and gestured for him to keep it low. "Don't wake the kids up." Leaving him behind, I walked to my room.

Well, not really mine. Out of the four bedrooms, none of us really claimed any for ourselves. We just slept wherever we felt like it.

Woojin followed me to the room. I sat on the bed, the sheets were somewhat dusty.

"Chan.. Talk to me about it. You're acting weird."

I sucked in a deep breath. "I told you already.."

"What do you mean you can't do this, Chan? You know they paid us loads!" Woojin raised his voice, stepping closer.

I shot to my feet. "Then give the fucking money back!"

I sighed in frustration. I didn't want Jisung to wake up. And I hope he didn't. Woojin's enraged eyes pierced my soul. Why is he so mad about this?

"... All these years, and this is the first time you wanna back down from a job. Why..? Tell me the damn reason."

"I don't owe you an explanation." I spat through my clenched teeth. I sat back down on the bed and attempted to steady my breathing so I could calm my nerves.

"Why are YOU getting upset?" Woojin spewed.

I gave up on calming down. "Right back at you. What's up with you?" I snarled.

"... Why are you guys fighting?"

I whipped my head up at the voice. Jisung stood by the doorway rubbing his eyes sleepily, his unkept brown hair pointing in all directions over his head.

"Sung, baby, go back to sleep." I got up and walked to him, urging him to leave the room. I gave his hair a quick ruffle. I noticed Changbin was now seated cross legged on the sofa, looking towards us.

Jisung whined. "Don't fight." He groggily strutted to the sofa and flopped down, knocking Changbin over. He instantly melted into the warmth of the older boy, returning to his slumber.

Once the two seemed to have fallen asleep, I moved backwards and carefully shut the door. I turned to face Woojin. We stayed in silence for a short while.

"Hey.. What's wrong..? You're bothered by something, right? That's why you can't do this." Woojin asked gently, his voice having restored it's default kindness. He eyed me with worry.

Then something inside me twisted and churned. I clenched my jaw and shut eyes. Everything's gone to hell. I felt my heart sink into my stomach.

"Woojin, I can't.. I can't kill that boy," My voice cracked, "I can't kill Lee Felix."
