FLORENCE Brandt didn't have the best childhood. No, she had one that she would prefer to sweep under the rug and completely forget about.  Although it's kind of hard to do that when she has a permanent reminder of what her childhood was on her face. She actually had a pretty good childhood that is until her house got on fire. Her dad managed to get her out alive but part of her face was burned forever. Her dad went back in the house though to try and save her mom, but the house fell down before either of them made it out. 

Florence didn't have many friends growing up, honestly she just had one. Phillip Carlyle and Florence Brandt were best friends, they grew up together. Their parents were friends and so they were introduced at a young age. After her parents died, Florence was sent to the orphanage and she and Phillip didn't get to see each other as much as they liked. Florence was passed through foster families as well, but after she became a teen she gave up hope of ever getting adopted. Usually families didn't keep her long, either because they were disgusted by her scared up face or they didn't want her. Florence was a girl who knew how to mask her pain though so she painted on a smile and no one could ever see how she was really feeling inside. No one beside Phillip who probably knew her better than she knew herself. But she hasn't seen him in years and she didn't even know if he remembered who she was. 

When Florence met Phineas 'P.T.' Barnum, she found him to be a kind man who was passionate about what he wanted to do. He somehow convinced her to work at his circus as his costume designer after seeing her beautiful work and made an offer that was hard to refuse. She, for some reason, agreed and she was honestly glad that she took up his offer. That was until one day when everything changed. Now, Phillip and Florence may have come from the same social circle when they grew up but now they were completely different. They shouldn't even be seen together according to society, but screw society right? And when they realize that they're in love with each other, they wonder if they can rewrite the stars.
