when daehyun was asked why did he ask daeun to stay with his best friend during his absence, he solely told her, "i think it's the best choice."

daeun, of course, was not satisfied of his answer, but daehyun only responded with a chuckle.

"you might think i'm crazy; it's kinda acceptable, but i promise that he's a good guy, and you'll really enjoy it here."

"how so?"

"patience, my dear. you'll get to know-- or feel-- it when the time comes. first, both of you need to open up to each other, and the rest will probably be a dream come true for you."

thoughts by thoughts circulated around daeun's mind. she was still skeptical about her cousin asking her to live under the same roof with his best friend-- who was a stranger to her-- and kind of promising a dream come true, which was unbelievable for her.

daeun absolutely didn't know what was going on daehyun's mind, but at the end, she chose to trust him. after all, if this best friend of his was a bad person, daehyun would dump him right there and then.

"i doubt that," daeun voiced out.

daehyun's lips curved upwards.

"well, it's up to both of you to make it possible."

"you're not using him for my happiness or vice versa, are you?"

daehyun laughed; not one of mockery nor humorlessly, just one of pure amusement.

"i wouldn't ever think of that."

to you, who probably thought daehyun is secretly an antagonist : he's not! i understand that you may get suspicions on dae from this chapter, but i assure you he's all good.
