Chapter 7 Old Friend
Davina sits on her bed keeping her eyes locked on Elijah's coffin. I watch her, studying her every move that she makes or goes to make. I stand up crossing my arms tightly against my chest. Her gaze leaves Elijah coffin and focuses on what I'm doing. I pull out my phone to check any text that I get from anybody. Davina walks over to a broken violin, she picks it up and stares at it.
"I can fix it." I say looking over to her.
"What?" Davina ask, looking over at me.
"Your violin." I say again pointing over to it.
"It's not mine." She whispers running her fingers over the instrument.
"I can see you care a lot about it. Why is that?" I quiz, strolling towards the broken instrument.
"It was this boy's his name was Tim."
"What happen to him?" I ask fixing it.
"We got separated. I finally found him again. But Klaus ended up hurting him so I haven't seen him sense then." Davina answers watching me fix it back together.
"I'm sorry to hear that Klaus did that to your friend and you." I say back handing her his fixed violin back.
Davina takes it from my hand a real smile on her face. I nod at her walking over to Elijah's coffin. I look over to her my eyes asking her if I could open up his coffin. She gives me a brief nod, I open up Elijah's coffin. He's sleeping quietly, his hair is perfectly in place as he lays still. He wears a black suite how original.
I pull the gold pocket watch out of my pocket. I gently set it in his hands, returning it back to him. I shut the coffin on him not bothering to even wake him up. Davina's face turns confused as she raises an eyebrow at me.
"Why didn't you wake him up?"
"Because when Marcel hands him back over to Klaus and Rebekah they'll wake him up. When Elijah wakes up he'll notice the golden pocket watch. Which means he'll come searching for me." I simply answer.
"I thought you wanted to use him against Klaus?" She quiz, looking over at Elijah's coffin.
"I do." I begin, "But I'll have to do it in another way. I should go. Marcel is going to be here any second"
"I promise I'll help you." I add giving her a smirk.
"Why are you really helping me?" Davina challenges.
"You remind me of my seventeen year old sister Elise. She was a fighter like you." I answer, disappearing out the door when I'm done.
I make my way towards my car, looking around the street to see if it's clear to go. It is so I slide into my car and speed off towards my loft. Making my way inside I throw my leather jacket onto my grey couch. As I make my way towards my desk I here a loud bang in the back. I slowly take my time keeping quiet as I make my way up the stairs and towards the loud bang. I hold a stake in my hand gripping it firmly.
I turn the corner making my way into my bedroom.I stop in my tracks as I look at the all to familiar face standing before me. He turn's to look at me his blue eyes looking me up an down a smile appearing. His blonde hair his still the same lenght as it was the last time that I saw him. He steps closer to me, he wears a white v-neck and jeans. Glasses hang on his shirt as he pulls me into a hug.
I return the hug a bright smile creeping onto my face. I pull out to look at my best friend, that once stood beside me when we battled.
"Aden." I whisper looking him up and down.
"It's been awhile. Two hundred and something years." He states looking around my room.
"How are you back?" I ask, trying to piece everything together the best that I can.
"Well your not the only one that has a few tricks up his sleeve." His Irish accent sticking out.
"Your one witch friend." I point out.
"Yes, she wasn't only good at magic." He smirks with a laugh.
I look him up and down still not believing that he's here with me standing in front of me. I nod my head towards the living room. He follows after me as we make our way into the living room. I go to the fridge and pull out two ice cold beers. I toss one to him, he catches giving me a nod in return. He opens it taking a long sip, I open mine only taking a little sip.
Aden really did love his beer and women. I lean up against my granite counter top watching him look at me. The man before me was a great fighter and an amazing friend that always had my back. I trusted him with everything especially when he found out about the Mikaelsons being vampires. He sets the empty beer bottle onto my black mahogany table.
"You've been after the Mikaelsons for a while now. Did you get Rebekah yet?" He quiz furring his eyebrows.
"No not yet." I get out putting my bottle up."
"What are you waiting for?" He challenges eyeing me.
"I don't know. It wasn't her, it was Klaus." I answer grabbing a hold of the counter top.
"So, make them all pay. They are vampires after all. If you kill all, every vampire will die off. Our unity wouldn't be for nothing. Your family death wouldn't be in vain." Aden edges me on, trying to get me on his side.
"Why kill them when you can make them suffer?" I ask, tilting my head at him.
"Because then you don't have to worry about them." He adds, his voice getting louder.
"Do you remember when you first met Rebekah?" I ask changing the subject.
"Yeah," Aden whispers with a shrug.
"You thought she was perfect for me. And then her and her brothers went off to New Orleans for a while." I say eyeing him.
"I did."
"How did the brotherhood find out they were vampires? Nobody knew but us and them?" I ask, testing the waters between us.
"Well if Klaus did it maybe he told the brotherhood." Aden answer trying to see what I'm getting at.
"Klaus did leave the party."
"I would know I was there when he told us." Aden whispers.
"You should have told me. Why didn't you tell me?" I challenge moving towards him.
"You were my friend. I knew it was too late. That's why I came to the party that night. Do you remember what I told you before we took you away from Rebekah?" He ask getting serious.
"I remember everything." I reply, thinking back to that night.
Flashback
Ihold hold onto Rebekah my eyes looking into her's as I tell her were over. Tears run down her cheeks and I wipe them away. Pain fills my heart as I break her's. But I know we won't work were from two different worlds. Footsteps come up from behind me as I turn to look at Aden.
He leans over and whispers into my ear. I let go of Rebekah and look at him. My brain starts to run like a whirlwind and it won't stop. He continues to whisper glancing over at Rebekah a couple of times.
"We need to leave now!" He states in my ear.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"You just need to come with me now! It's bad Elias." Aden grabs onto my shoulder.
"Just tell me what's wrong." I hiss, at him.
"The brotherhood is in a lot of hurt." He begins, "We found your family. Elias their all dead."
He let's go of my shoulder giving me my space. I glance at Rebekah leaving her behind as we make our way towards my house. I run as fast as I can picking up speed every step that I take.
