Chapter 6 Acquaintance
I wait for Sophie at the cemetery, the sun shines down keeping me warm from the light wind that is howling. I hear footsteps coming from behind me, I turn around to see Sophie. Her brown eyes show fear and wordiness. I sigh, as she makes her way towards me. She hands me a bowl full of black looking powder. She pulls a map out of her purse setting down on the concrete.
I look down at the old map of New Orleans. I hand her the pocket watch, watching her place it on the left side of the map. She takes the bowl from me, and does her witchy tricks. The powder starts to make a trail along the line of the map. She stops saying words when the black powder stops on the map. She looks up at me.
"Please tell me your not going to flake on me?" I ask, looking down at her.
"No it worked. I found Elijah." She states looking back down at the map.
"Where is he?" I ask bending down to look at the map.
My eyes follow the black line of powder to a specific spot. I get up looking at the spot where Elijah's body is. Sophie grabs the map and wipes the powder off of the map and onto the ground. She shoves it back into her purse, along with the bowl. I grab the pocket watch off of the ground. I slide it into my black leather jacket.
"Where done here." She says, holding onto her purse tightly.
"I'll be back for more. When the right time comes." I claim, looking around the cemetery.
"I want your word to keep me safe from Klaus and Marcel."
"You have my word. They may lay a hand on you but I'll be there to stop it." I whisper, shifting my weight.
Sophie just nods and walks off, her footsteps disappearing with every steps she takes. I watch her disappear into view. I get to my car waisting no time getting to Elijah. I pull up to the building that the powder showed. A tall brick building, but it's not any building it's a church. I look up at the tall building before me.
I make my way inside the church looking at all the history and architect that went into it. This church is truly a master piece just like the ones in France. I look around the church, a voice stops me from checking it out any further.
"Can I help you?" The low voice ask, stepping closer to me.
"I'm just checking out the history of this church. I heard about all the stuff that went down here. I'm going to be in town for a while, so why not check it out." I say, glancing over to him.
"Is that what your really here for?" He challenges, stepping near me.
"No," I honestly answer moving my body towards him.
I look in him straight into his eyes, I can feel his discomfort radiating off of his body. I shift my eyes to the stairs that probably lead to the attic. The place I want to search for the most. I look back to the priest.
"Your not going to remember any of this." I state coldly keeping my icy gaze on him.
"I'm not going to remember any of this." He repeats back to me.
"Good, it was nice meeting you..." I reply.
"Kieran." He adds, quietly.
I nod and make my way up the stairs and towards the attic. I here movement in the attic, as I stalk towards the attic door. I open it hearing a girls voice, say something.
"Marcel?" The voice ask, as I open the door.
I reveal myself to the petite teenage girl that stands before my eyes. She wears a white dress, her brunette hair is perfectly wavy as it hangs in her face. Her skin is tan, she looks to be about sixteen. This must be the girl Marcel holds in control. I look to my right to see a big coffin off to the side, that must be where Elijah is. The girl backs away from me as I make a move at her.
"Who are you?" The girl ask, through her teeth.
"A friend," Is all I answer back.
"Why are you here?" She quiz, her blue eyes lacing onto me.
"I need Elijah." I begin, "I found out that he was being held here. I didn't know it was a little girl."
"Your the one that was doing magic." She whisper putting it together.
"Yes, and before you say anything. I know about Marcel and his rules. I just don't care." I bark, stepping more into the attic.
"You need to leave." She growls.
I chuckle at her comment, rubbing a hand on the back of my neck. She glides at me, as I eye Elijah's coffin. She looks to where I'm looking. I can hear her heart start to beat louder in her chest. I need to let her know she can trust me.
"I'm not going to hurt you." I add, her head shoots up to look at me.
She bites her bottom lip, as she continues to stare at me.
"How do I know your telling the truth?" She challenge, not making direct eye contact.
"Because I keep my word. Something a lot of people don't know how to do. "
"Why do you want Elijah?" She ask, what is with the fifty questions.
"He has something I need. Holds something I need. Without him I can't take down the Originals. Something you want to do yourself, am I right?" I quiz, pointing over to Elijah.
"We can work together." I try to convince her. "Davina we can take them down together. All you have to do is hand over Elijah."
She stays quiet as her brain try's to put everything together. If she hands over Elijah, I'll keep my word to her that we'll work together to destroy them. Davina goes to answer but there's a suddenly footsteps coming towards the door. I hear Marcel's voice as he talks to somebody.
"Hide." Davina whispers as she opens Elijah's coffin.
"Do we have a deal?" I ask, looking at her.
"Yes, now hide."
I hide in a corner, one I know Marcel won't find me in. The attic door creaks opens as Marcel walks in. I turn to look at what's going on.
"Hey D." I hear Marcel say, the floor creaking with each step.
"Marcel." Davina whisper, as she glances over to the area where I'm hiding.
"I wanted to let you know that I'm giving Elijah back to Klaus." Marcel answer.
"When?" Davina ask, trying to go along with everything.
"Tomorrow." Marcel states, looking around the dark attic.
"Why?"
"Because Rebekah saved my life. And she wanted Elijah back." Marcel shrugs, a bright smile plastered onto his face.
"Their bad news Marcel. I want to make them pay." Davina says, her tone is cold.
"I know but we'll have to do it another way. I see you later okay. Do you need anything why I'm out?"
"More painting items." I hear Davina say.
"Okay."
The door to the attic close and I make my way out. She looks up at me, a tiny smile tugging at her lips. It disappears when she starts to bite her bottom lip.
"You didn't leave?" She ask, her voice full of shock.
"No. I told you I keep my word." I add, pulling out my phone.
"What are we going to do?"
"I don't know." Is all I can reply back.
"How do you know the Mikaelsons? Why do you hate them so much?" She ask sitting down on her bed.
"I've known the Mikaelsons for along time. Are family's were acquaintances. Rebekah and I had a relationship, one that turned romantic." I tell her, trying to keep the pain from growing more.
"Rebekah, Elijah, and I got along great along with their other brother Kol as well. Klaus and I on the other hand didn't always see an eye for an eye. Especially when it came to one specific person. Rebekah. He never thought any man was good enough for her." I explain looking up at her.
"That's harsh." Davina states turning to look at me.
"I remember the first night I ever meet Klaus and Rebekah. I was her date to the Mikaelsons grand party. Klaus didn't like the fact that we hit it off. He was jealous, of the relationship that was beginning with us."
Flashback
"Rebekah," Elijah says as he drags me over to a beautiful blonde with bright blue eyes.
"Elijah." She states, pulling him into a hug.
"This is Elias. Your date for tonight's party." Elijah accompaniment eyeing me in the process.
She smiles at me, as I take her hand and place a gently kiss on it. I smile back at her catching Klaus cold gaze. Rebekah follows my wondering eyes to her older brother. He holds a drink in his hand taking a long sip from it.
"Don't worry about him. He's just a little over protective of me. He won't put a finger on you." Rebekah reassures me.
"I'm not worried about him." Saying it extra loud so he can hear me. "I like a good competition."
Rebekah laughs and grabs onto my hand pulling me straight onto the dance floor. We dance together without a care in the world. It's like we're the only ones here in this perfect moment.
"I can't wait to learn more about you." Rebekah murmurs in my ear.
"I feel the same."
I feel two peoples gazes on us as we continue to sway back and forth to the movement. I look up to see Klaus and Elijah eyeing us closely. Klaus eyes darken as Rebekah place a kiss onto my check. I smirk at the thought of making a hybrid jealous. This is going to be fun.
