Chapter 10 Enemy
I gaze at Klaus my jaw tensing up as I put my hands into a fist clenching them. Klaus stares back at me his eyes are cold and bitter, a scowl on his face. I back away from Rebekah, turning fully around to face Klaus. Rebekah grabs onto my arm, her nails digging into my leather jacket. I shake away from her grip, stepping closer to Klaus standing tall.
Klaus still looks the same as he did two hundred and something years ago. The only thing different is his dark blonde hair is shorter rather then longer. He still has those sad brown eyes and cold facial structure.
Klaus tilts his head to the side, his pupils dilating as he steps at me. I narrow my eyes at him, a snarl crawling across my face as I daze at Klaus watching his every move, he steps towards me again but I don't budge.
"Klaus," Rebekah states, walking over to him.
"You should go. You're boyfriend and I have unfinished business." Klaus says, turning to look at Rebekah.
"Nik," Rebekah warns.
"You were dead." Klaus growls.
"Didn't take." I answer back.
"I guess I can finally be the one to kill you, and finish what your brotherhood started but did not finish." Klaus viciously tells.
"You can try." I grumble.
"Elias," Rebekah whispers.
I eye her, giving her a serious look. My eyes dart back to Klaus, I cross my arms against my chest my feet planted firmly on the ground. Klaus goes to attack me but Rebekah gets in his way standing tall. I roll my eyes, but decide to keep my mouth shut.
"Rebekah sweetheart get out of the way." Klaus sweet talks Rebekah.
"Nik he's not worth it." Rebekah replies trying to mess with Klaus.
"Oh but he is. I can't have a pest getting in my way." Klaus begins, "And the only way to get rid of the pest is simply just eliminate the problem."
"You tried that once Klaus, remember it didn't take." I add, Rebekah looking over her shoulder to look at me.
"Elias go!" Rebekah shouts at me.
"I don't want you dead Klaus, if I did you and you're family would already have been dead. But since you're sister told me the truth that it was you that had my parents killed, I only want to make you suffer." I reveal, a sly smirk tugging on my lip.
"And how is that?" Klaus ask eyeing me.
"I have several ideas." I boldly state, "My favorite one involves a girl named Hayley. I don't know what or how she's involved with you but I'll find out somehow trust me."
"Don't you dare touch her!" Klaus yells getting in my face.
"I cant promise anything."
"If you touch her in anyway-" Klaus barks.
"You'll what Klaus?" I challenge, "You've already taking everything that I had or loved."
Klaus backs away from me tears in his eyes, Rebekah turns to look at me discust fills her steel blue eyes. I don't show any emotions towards them. If I take Hayley away it's for her own good, Klaus doesn't deserve to have a girl who loves him. Especially when he took everybody else's including mine. I take one more look at them backing away, I turn around and disappear into the crowd leaving Rebekah and Klaus alone to their heavy thoughts.
I rush towards my car, getting ready to meet a certain person. When I finally get there, I slowly pull up making sure nobody's around. I sprint to the door, I get ready to knock on the door but it opens up wide. A tall girl with deep green eyes looks up at me, her dark black hair waves around her shoulder. I give her a smile.
"Hi," I say looking around the place.
"Can I help you?" She ask a look of suspicion on her face.
"I'm Elias, Klaus's friend." I tell her.
"Hayley." The girl states, "I didn't know Klaus has friends. He is a dick after all."
"Trust me I know." I add in, earning a laugh from her.
"Klaus isn't here right now but would you like to wait for him?" Hayley challenges, raising an eyebrow.
I look around again letting my eyes search the place. I look back down at her, my eyes landing on her stomach. A small bump, and it dawns on me why she's so important to Klaus. She's carrying his child. I take a step back, her eyes follow my movement.
"Are you okay?" Hayley ask me, stepping out of the house to check on me.
"I'm fine. I'm really sorry for bothering you." I answer, feeling guilty.
"You're not a friend of Klaus are you? You're him, the vampire assassin person. Elias." Hayley response, raising her eyebrows.
"How-"
"I heard about you. You and Rebekah were an item long ago." She whispers, with a smile.
"Actually centuries." I buzz in.
Rebekah's been talking about me. I look down at the porch my eyes scanning it.
"She talks about you a lot. When Klaus isn't around, she told me so much about you." She says, moving closer to me.
I stay quite as I close my eyes, her words running through my mind. After a couple of minutes I open them, glancing over to Hayley.
"Come in," She whispers. " I want to know what happen."
I follow her inside the house my eyes scanning the area for any escape exits. She leads me to a front room decorated with old furniture, and old paintings. I sit down on the couch leaning into, trying to get comfortable. Hayley sits next to me her hands firmly on her lap as her green eyes meet mine.
"Why doesn't Klaus like you? Why don't you like him?" Hayley challenges, tilting her head to the side.
" I have multiple reasons." I answer honestly, "My main one is he had my family killed... slaughtered, by my brotherhood."
"I'm sorry," Hayley grabs my hand.
"And all I can think of is making him suffer." I tell, my body tensing at the old memory's.
"Klaus and I didn't get along because of Rebekah." I say running a my hand through my hair.
Flashback
I hold onto Rebekah as we stroll down the hallway towards her room. The hardwood floor creaks beneath us as we continue to talk about plans. She smiles at me, one that makes me melt something I don't often do.
"We're leaving for New Orleans in two days." Rebekah chirps, "But I promise I'll be back."
"For how long?" I question, searching her eyes.
"However long Elijah and Klaus please." Is all she answers.
"Rebekah," I mutter, "they can't control you for ever."
"I think we can mate." Klaus barks, his footsteps growing closer to us.
"Nik don't please." Rebekah pleads.
"Why not?" Klaus shrugs, "Elias is the enemy anyway. One that I cannot stand."
"Why Klaus?" I challenge walking closer to him. "Afraid I'll take Rebekah away from you? The only person that sticks by you?"
"Elias don't." Rebekah answers, grabbing onto my arm.
"No," Klaus bleakly adds. "Rebekah will always chose me, so don't let this love go to you're head. You're nothing but a phase, one in which she'll pass soon enough. Rebekah will get bored with you, and we can be off on our way, and rid of you and you're father."
I turn to look at the wall, Klaus's words piercing my heart. Klaus chuckles and disappears down the stairs. Rebekah grabs onto my shirt, pulling herself my way so she can face me. Her eyes try to search mine but I don't look at her.
"Don't let him get to you Elias." Rebekah begins, "You know how Klaus is."
"Have fun on your trip." I hiss back, slipping out of her grasp.
I leave her in the hall, anger flaring inside of me. All I can say is Klaus is the enemy.
