13. Multitude
Present
After realizing that Barry and the other version of myself were gone, I found the strength to assess the situation that I had found myself in. It didn't take me long to realize that she had handcuffed me with the meta-cuffs, which didn't matter much in the end anyways. The only power I possessed now was the power to switch bodies, and that wasn't very helpful to me at the moment.
Other than the handcuffs, my mouth was duct-taped and I was left alone lying on the floor in the darkness. However, for some reason, I wasn't scared; if anything, I was pissed. No one steals my body, my face, and my life without dealing with me first, and she had a big storm coming as soon as I got out of here.
I manage to prop myself upright, not sure what against due to the darkness. It takes me a moment to get up onto my feet without the use of my hands, but when I do, it's hard for me to find my balance. After I get ahold of myself, I decide to search the walls for some type of light switch; that was the best place to start.
My fingers glide along the wall as I take cautious steps, part-way scared of what I might crash into if I wasn't careful. Chills rise up my spine as I make my way along the runway, not finding anything related to a light switch. However, just then, something taps against my face, scaring me for a moment before I realized what it was; a string.
A small grin dances along my lips then as I reach upwards, grabbing the string and tugging downwards hard. Light floods my eyes in that moment, but I wasn't filled with the relief that I was hoping to consume.
The happiness that I had was quickly replaced with wonder; for turning on the lights had shed a new light onto me that I hadn't noticed earlier. Surrounding me were plans and maps galore; spread sporadically on the walls, on the desks, and some even on the floor.
I carefully step forwards off of a piece of paper as my eyes scan the walls, my mouth beginning to hang open slightly. My mind works fast as I attempt to make sense of what all I was seeing, but nothing starts to add up. At least, that wasn't until one particular paper caught my eye.
It appeared to be some type of medical document; one for a patient that had a form of lung cancer. I grow curious as I read farther into the document, finding a name to the patient that was diagnosed.
Sydney Black.
I furrow my eyebrows as I stare at the last name, feeling an odd sensation come over me. I never had a relative back on my earth named Sydney...but my earth one doppleganger did. I was willing to bet that this was my dopplegangers sister. After all, Barry mentioned that in the other timeline that my doppleganger had died from cancer...her sister must have gotten it instead in this timeline.
My eyes drift away slowly as I scan the other papers, trying to find a way to piece all of this new information together. It was then I found a list of articles regarding cures to cancer. They all talked about possible ways to slow down the spread of cells, but none of them had a real answer, of course.
Suddenly then it all clicked inside of my head. My doppleganger was trying to find a way to save her sister by finding a cure. All of these documents proved that, and I was willing to bet that she was stealing valuable items in order to get that cure.
For a moment, I congratulate myself for figuring out her game plan, but that was before another paper up on the wall caught my eye. It was a photo of S.T.A.R. Labs and Dr. Wells, which had a large red X over it. Why would she have Dr. Wells up on the wall?
At first I didn't think much of it, but then I remembered that we had another version of Wells back at S.T.A.R. Labs; one that had nothing to do with this Harrison Wells up on the wall. If it's Wells my doppleganger wants, for whatever reason, it made me worry how she would react to see that he was "alive".
I just hope the team figures out that she's not the real me...and soon.

Barry's POV
"What do you mean you can't track her?" I ask Cisco as he types away on his computer, a look of frustration haunting his face.
He throws his hands into the air. "I don't know! It's like she just disappeared off the face of this planet."
I sigh as I rub the bridge of my nose. "Just figure it out, alright? She managed to slip through our fingers yet again..."
Cisco looks up at me and Raven, who was standing there silently. "Well, on the bright side, you two are back in your own bodies, right?"
I nod my head as I look over at Raven, who looked like a deer in headlights. I wasn't sure what was wrong with her. "Yeah, we're back to ourselves, thank God. Right, Raven?"
She jolts then as I say her name, but quickly collects herself. "R-Right, yeah. Feels great to be back in my own skin."
I raise an eyebrow as I shoot Cisco a glance, both of us catching her odd tone. "I couldn't agree more. Now you don't have to worry about using the restroom."
Cisco cracks a small smile as I laugh, waiting for a smile or even just a blush to appear on her face, but instead I only get a confused look. Her eyes flick between the two of us for a moment before laughing, it being delayed. My smile fades then, an odd feeling settling in the pit of my stomach. Something wasn't right with her.
"Uh Raven, can I talk to you?" I ask as her neck snaps in my direction, the words getting caught in her throat.
"Y-yeah," she utters, nodding her head uncontrollably.
I narrow my eyes slightly before heading towards the hall, nodding my head in that direction for her to follow me. She does so before I turn around, the two of us now in private. When I turn around to look down at her, her aura seemed different; not like how it had been a few seconds ago.
"What's up?" she asks, raising her eyebrows slightly in curiosity. I couldn't help but admire how cute the small little movement was.
I remember my main point of bringing her out here. "Are you...okay? You seem a little shaken up, I guess."
She cocks her head slightly. "Shaken up? Of course not. I promise I'm okay...I'm still recovering from being switched back, that's all."
I guess that was a reasonable excuse. "Alright, I just thought I'd ask-"
"Are you okay?" she asks me in return, looking up at me innocently.
I was really confused then. "I'm great besides the fact that we lost our meta, why?"
"I didn't know if this was one of these things where you ask me what's wrong in private when in reality you really want me to ask you what's wrong because you have something bugging your mind?" she states, making my eyes widen for a moment.
I shake my head. "Um...actually, there has been something bugging me..."
She takes a step closer, her eyes searching my face in a way I've never seen before. "What's bugging you?"
My hand reaches for the back of my neck, breaking eye contact with her. "When we had switched bodies...I don't know, something didn't feel right. At first I thought that it was just me adjusting to not being myself, but as time went on, I realized that wasn't the case. I'm not exactly sure why it's bugging me, but it makes me feel like something is wrong, and you're not telling me."
She gives me a confused look before muttering something under her breath. "You don't know..."
"What?" I say, not sure if I heard her right.
She shakes her head. "No, B-Barry...? There's nothing wrong with me."
I decide to push more. "Are you positive? I know you were having nightmares there for awhile and those stomach pains...you're sure that something more isn't wrong with you? You can talk to me, Raven. You know that."
I could tell that she was hiding something, that was for sure. I only knew because she had that same look in her eye as she did when I had confronted her about Zoom; her eyes always gave it away. For a moment, I thought she was about to open up to me, but then she's quickly changing her mind.
"There's nothing wrong with me," she tells me once again, leaning in closer to me. "I promise."
A sigh escapes my throat then as I tighten my lips into a thin line, nodding my head. If she wasn't ready to talk about it, I respected that. It just hurt me a little to know that something was wrong and she didn't want me to know. It made me feel as if she didn't trust me.
I glance back towards the main lab. "I guess we can't do much until Cisco is able to track our meta again..."
"Right," she agrees with me, taking a step backwards. She glances up at me, giving me a look as if I should be asking her to do something...as if she expected me to tell her what to do now.
My mouth hangs open for a moment as I try to find the right words. "Um, if you want, we can go grab a bite to eat? It's too late for Jitters but I think I know of a small diner around the corner that's still open."
She nods her head, but something about it sent me the wrong vibe. "Yeah...yeah! That sounds nice."
Silence wraps around us for a moment before I nod towards the end of the hall. "Okay well, I guess we better get out of our suits and then we can head over there."
"Right," she looks down at herself. "That could have been really bad."
She laughs, but it didn't give me that joyful feeling as it usually did. It felt...off. "I'll meet you at the elevator, okay?"
"Okay," she nods as I turn to walk away, expecting her to dash off to go get her clothes, but instead she stays standing in the middle of the hall, appearing lost.
I stop and turn to face her again. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'm fine, Barry," she says, my name on her tongue sounding almost foreign. I ignore it however as I go to turn back around, but instead, I find myself bumping into Wells.
He groans as I back away, seeing that he was wearing his PJ's and had a toothbrush in his mouth. It was then I looked down at myself and saw that he had gotten toothpaste on my suit. "Aw man c'mon, you got toothpaste on my suit!"
"Sorry," he mutters through his clenched teeth before marching on back to his room. I shoot him a death glare as he walks away, but that was before I see Raven watching him closely as he disappears around the corner. She appears almost mesmerized; as if he shouldn't be here.
I decide to ignore it as I turn back around, wondering to myself if something really was wrong with her. She said that everything was fine, but I could tell that it wasn't. I know her better than she thinks I do...that's for damn sure.
I guess things will unfold with time.

WOW, I finally got a chapter done !! *round of applause*
What do you think though...what's the dopplegangers game plan? What's wrong with Raven (other than the fact that she's not our real Raven?) Will Barry and the others figure out where their Raven is before it's too late? Should I keep doing Barry Point of Views or is it too confusing??
Stay tuned to find out! xx
