Cupid's Broken Arrows
Book: Cupid's Broken Arrows
Author: Vamprixussa
Genre: Romance
Cover, Title & Description:
Honestly, the cover of the book looks a little clumsy and messy. The word 'believe' is only partly visible. The author's name isn't too clear too. The fire heart on top of the cover kind of sends out wrong vibes. Would suggest you to reconsider the cover.
The title goes well with the story. Kevin dating Riosha all of a sudden instead of pursuing Drashelle does imply that cupid's arrow is broken. Let's see how it works out for all the characters by the end of the book. But as for now, the title is perfect.
The description is interesting and leaves the readers wanting more. It doesn't give out much details about the actual story, this only adds on to the reader's curiosity. So, good job there!
First Chapter:
The first chapter is quite normal and that's what makes it relatable. I would describe it as a normal day in a teenager's life. The random thoughts and ideas on Drashelle's mind makes it so much more easier for the readers to feel connected to the story because that's how almost all of us are. Great job with the opening!
Character Development:
There's an aura of mystery around the characters of the story. We get to know a little more about them with every encounter. That's a great way to keep the reader's engaged.
Also, the characters just go on doing random things impulsively which is somewhat how a teenager works. So, the characters are being developed gradually and I'm sure by the end of the story, they'll end up being better individuals.
Plot & Storyline:
The plot is quite normal but interesting. With unexpected twists and turns every now and then, it manages to keep the reader's hooked. Weaving a story around a normal high school student is quite common but it's the twists and mystery about the characters in this book that makes it interesting.
The storyline is moving smoothly as of now. Neither is the story rushed nor is it too slow paced. You're doing a good job in executing the plot. Keep up the good work.
Grammar & Detailing:
The description of the backdrop, the incidents, the characters, their emotions and thoughts are apt. I was able to visualize the scene while reading it. The use of gifs every now and then adds on to the uniqueness of your writing style and makes it more relatable.
There were very few noticeable grammatical errors. I'm sure you'll be able to rectify them once you proofread.
Overall, this book is an interesting read for the teenagers and young adults out there.
I apologize if I have offended or hurt you. I hope you take this review in a positive way.
Keep writing!
Lots of love!
Stay safe and be happy!
