First Impression 9/10 -
Title: Your title interests me because I don't understand what it's hinting at. It made me want to read it because I want to know what it means. Also, I love the titles for all your books, just thought I'd say that.
Cover: I don't like the blue hue your cover has, but it's set up nicely. The title is centered and looks nice with the picture. It's not the cover I would have pictures for a historical fiction book, but it's still lovely.
Summary: I love your summary. It gives a great amount of information without giving too much of the story away. I wish there were more summaries like yours on wattpad.
Dialogue/Grammar 9.5/10 - There was one part where you forgot a quotation mark, which I pointed out so you know where it is, but other than that your writing is flawless. Your perfect grammar just adds to the professionalism of your writing.
I didn't take any points off for this one because I'm not sure since I don't write in past tense, but this part sounded weird to me. (It's in chapter 1 btw)
"Do not fret, Miss Eulalie, I will leave you to it," the royal said, winked empathetically, "just mind the Princes, won't you? Willem has been aching for a dance partner since Princess Louisa injured her foot."
The 'winked empathetically' part sounds very weird. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not used to past tense or if it's being used wrong. I just thought I'd point it out.
Characters 10/10 - I don't have lot to go on about the characters individually, so I'm just going to do general terms. For one, I ship them. I don't know if things go bad, but Eulalie and Otto are adorable. I love how they're both foreign living in England, it gives them unique features. Overall, I really enjoy the characters.
Chapter Lengths 10/10 - They're short, but perfect. Personally, I prefer short chapters because I can get through more, so having these shorter was made it more enjoyable.
Descriptions 10/10 - I've read some of your other stuff that all have amazing descriptions and I was not disappointed here. I love the way you describe scenes and how you don't stick with simple words. Your writing always sounds so professional to me and I love it.
Plot 9/10 - I've never read historical fiction before, unless To Kill a Mockingbird counts, but I enjoyed reading the chapter that I did. I like how it's almost like diary entries and told in past tense. I'm not sure what the entire plot as a whole is, but the whole idea of the book is very interesting. There's something I don't like about the book though. I don't think it's an issue of your plot is bad, I think I just don't historical fiction.
Overall 9.5/10 - I'm sorry if this review wasn't as good as you had hoped, but your book was really good. The only minor things I noticed were some missed punctuation and a confusing sentence. It was quite interesting to read, and I would definitely recommend this hook to lovers of historical fiction.
