The Hidden Room
The fire crackled, brimming with warmth and light to the otherwise dark room. Dipper Gleeful sat in a leather armchair with his fingers drumming on the arm rest. He was entranced by the fire, so entranced that Mabel entered the room completely unnoticed. She could tell that Dipper was in deep thought, so she just took the chair opposite of him. They both sat there with the only noise coming from the fire place. The awkward silence lasted an eternity for Mabel. Finally Dipper spoke.
"What is it?" He asked quietly. Mabel studied her brother carefully. She had many topics to discuss with Dipper, as a lot had been weighing down on her mind recently. Dipper had changed ever since he had discovered that Gideon held one of the journals. The younger twin was more rash, and he was quicker to get angry these days. That was what Mabel wanted to address, but instead she asked something completely different.
"What's our next move" ever since Mabel's outburst with Gideon and Pacifica Dipper had been calling the shots. She was on a tight leash because Dipper no longer trusted her judgement. Sure she could always disobey Dipper, and do whatever she wanted, but Mabel could not afford to get on Dipper's bad side. He was the only family she had besides Stan. They trusted each other with everything. "Are we going to send the clones to attack them?" Mabel asked after waiting for Dipper to answer her first question to no avail. When Mabel had first saw Dipper's army of clones she thought she had been drugged. Dipper knew a lot of magic spells, but cloning was not one of them. Dipper had explained that he got them during the party at the mystery shack. Mabel assumed they were his pawns for stealing the journal. Dipper had a different take on how to use the clones effectively.
"No, the clones are much to valuable to be discovered this early in the game" Dipper said leaving Mabel with a confused look on her face. What else could they possibly use the clones for? "Stan said there were three journals right?" He added on to remedy Mabel's confusion. When their grunkle Stan had learned about the amulets he gave Dipper the journal they currently own, and told him to use it only for self defense. Yeah they used it for a little more than self defense. Try mind control, torture, demonic deals, and other healthy activities. "I'm going to use the clones to track down the last journal, and other jobs. They are my recon force" Dipper explained. Now Mabel understood why Dipper was reserving his clones. They were his secret weapon, his trump card.
"So if we aren't using the clones then how are we going to steal my beloved's journal?" Mabel asked, with her curiosity only growing. Dipper smirked.
"The copier machine wasn't the only odd thing I found in the shack" he answered vaguely.
"Dipper that doesn't really help answer my question" Mabel stated.
"It was a simple curse, you'll see" Dipper said with a mischievous glint in his eye. A rash Dipper is still a deadly one.
Bud had been looking for a nice peaceful day. He was set up on the couch with his favorite blanket and a can of Pitt cola. The t.v. was on Bud's favorite channel, and he had set the volume to his favorite setting. Everything was perfect. He was looking forward to a relaxing day of watching t.v., but unfortunately he lived with Pacifica. As his favorite show was starting he heard a crash from upstairs. He tore up the stairs so fast you could practically see the smoke coming off the wooden floor. For such a big guy Bud sure was fast when he needed to be. Bud arrived at the top of the stairs to inflict divine punishment on whoever had broken whatever was broken. There was no sign of the teens, but that was fine with Bud. He could smell the guilt oozing from their souls. Out of the corner of his eyes he saw Gideon holding some kind of plastic toy. Upon closer inspection he found it was a gun with foam darts loaded in it. Bud waltzed up to Gideon with a commanding authority that all adults posses.
"What's that?" Bud demanded to know. Gideon's childish smile immediately faded as it was replaced with a serious look set in Gideon's eyes. The two relatives stared each other down. Finally Gideon answered.
"Nyarf or nothin" he said with a dead serious edge in his voice. Gideon scampered away like a mouse running from a cat ready to pounce, but unfortunately for Gideon Bud was the cat ready to pounce. Gideon took three steps before he felt Bud grab his shirt collar. Bud was about to snatch the gun away from Gideon when it happened. Three darts hit him square in the back. Bud turned around to find Pacifica pointing another gun at him. At this point Bud was fuming mad, and Gideon was worried they had gone too far.
"Give me the gun" Bud said angrily. Gideon had no choice but to comply with Bud's wishes, so he handed over the gun, albeit reluctantly. Gideon waited for Bud to throw away the fun toy, but instead Bud loaded it with more darts and shot Pacifica right on the nose. World War III had begun. Darts soon began spraying everywhere at fast rates, and Bud was holding his own against Pacifica. Gideon actually thought Bud was going to win, but when the smoke cleared he was clearly beaten. Pacifica was a Nyarf ninja. The girl was giggling at how ridiculous Bud looked. He was completely covered in darts while she stood high and dry. "All right, all right, you win" Bud said holding up his arms in defeat. He sighed and looked at the mess they had created, pondering if it was worth the fun. "What did you guys even break anyways?" Bud asked returning to the original reason he had come upstairs for.
"Oh Gideon hit a statue, but we already cleaned it up" Pacifica said cheerfully. This was the most fun she had had since coming to Gravity Falls. For once the Gleeful twins weren't there to ruin their fun. Bud shrugged since he was never one to appreciate art anyways. Robbie crept up behind Bud and tapped him on the shoulder. Bud turned around and looked down at Robbie expectantly.
"There's something you should see" Robbie stated mysteriously. Pacifica and Gideon were intrigued, so they followed as Robbie lead Bud to a door that they had never seen before. It had been covered in wallpaper before now. While Pacifica was thrilled at this new discovery Gideon was a little skeptical about the mysterious room.
"How'd you even find this?" He asked Robbie. Robbie shrugged.
"Honestly I have no idea. I was just sweeping, and it kind've stood out for some reason" Robbie answered. Bud outstretched his arm a little hesitantly. Finally he grasped the door knob slowly. Bud was taking too long, so Pacifica just shoved him out of the way. She opened the door to reveal a minute army of wax statues. Sherlock Holmes, William Shakespeare, and Larry King were among them. Pacifica busted into the room and began hopping from statue to statue with curiosity and amazement. Gideon stayed fixated on one statue in particular. It was Sherlock Holmes, his favorite character from literature of all time. Something seemed off though, and Gideon couldn't quite put his finger on it. "What are we going to do with them?" Robbie asked Bud, Gideon and Pacifica watched Bid anxious to hear his answer. Bud rubbed his chin thoughtful,y for a moment before answering.
"We'll probably just have to throw them away" he said decisively. Robbie nodded, and grabbed the nearest statue which happened to be Kanye West.
"Wait!" Pacifica shouted. All eyes fell on her. "Why don't we just keep them? I mean these are pretty nice statues, and I'm sure we could profit off of them" she pointed out. The gears in Bud's head began turning, and Gideon swore he could see the dollar signs replacing Bud pupil's.
"Ok kid we'll run a wax museum, but on one condition" he paused. Pacifica was listening attentively. Gideon was also interested in hearing what this condition could be. "You have to make a wax statue of me in all my glory by yourself to help promote the new wax museum. Deal?" Bud finished, and held out his hand for Pacifica to shake which she did.
"Deal"
It took Pacifica three sleepless nights, and a lot of glitter. By the fourth morning the statue was life like, but Pacifica was half dead. She was unable to utter a single word in English. Probably because she had been hopped up on Pazzie juice the whole time. Even Bud had to admit she had done a fantastic job of capturing the essence of him in "all his glory". Gideon personally thought that she had used to much glitter, but he was planning on keeping that comment to himself as she had worked hard to make the statue.
"All right kid, a deal's a deal. We'll open up a wax museum" Bud said grudgingly. Gideon should have been happy about opening a new attraction, but he knew that would just be more work for him. Sure enough he got stuck handing out fliers in town while Pacifica set up decorations. Gideon passed pit fliers to everybody he happened to come across. Unfortunately he came across the twisted twins of terror.
"Oh heya Gid, what's up?" Mabel asked after immediately clinging on to Gideon's arm. Gideon shook her off and glared at her.
"None of your beeswax" he replying hostilely. Dipper saw one of the fliers and snatched it right out of Gideon's hands. Gideon was starting to get annoyed. Dipper read the flier, and handed it back to Gideon. "Really? A wax museum?" He said, failing to contain his laughter. Gideon frowned.
"Stop it" he said quietly. Dipper stopped laughing and looked Gideon dead in the eye.
"Why should I?" He asked to get Gideon angry. It was working.
"Because Paz worked hard to make this happen!" Gideon huffed. It was Mabel's turn to laugh. Gideon looked over at her.
"If she's the one behind this then it's sure to be a train wreck" Mabel said as if it was a scientific fact. "Oops did I say that out loud?" She asked even though she already knew the answer to her own question. Gideon refused to be by them any longer, so he stormed back home to escape their harassment. Instead of handing out fliers Gideon spent the rest of the day helping Pacifica with decorations. After a day of setting up Pacifica and Gideon decided to hit the hay.
