Fight Fighters

Gideon's face was illuminated only by the video game he was playing. It had been a week since Pacifica had left, and everyday Gideon had spent open to close in the local arcade to try and avoid the Gleeful twins, and his own loneliness. Although Gideon would never admit it to her; he really missed Pacifica. She dragged him out of his comfort zone, and made him explore the world outside of his room. Without her life had become pretty boring. He tried to focus on his game which was Fight Fighters, a classic arcade fighting game. Every time he got close to getting Pacifica off of his mind the void of loneliness dragged him in, and spat him back out leaving an ache in his heart. Memories of the day Pacifica left still swam around in his mind. She had offered to let him come with, but he turned her down because he knew her parents were total hippies. If he had known how much he was going to miss her he definitely would have gone with her. What was worse was the game reminded him of his current situation. His fighter, Rumble Mcskirmish would be able to beat every other character until the final boss, Dr. Karate. Whenever Gideon got to that level he would just get beaten every time. He was completely outmatched. Just like him and Dipper. Dipper was miles ahead of him in strength and intelligence. Gideon poured all of his heart and soul into button mashing as he had never learned how to play the game, but Dr. Karate had this stupidly over powered combo move that always managed to finish off Gideon. He sighed as he reached into his pocket only to find that he was all out of money. He turned around to leave, but then a familiar face appeared.
"Hey Gideon... See you okay? You don't look so good" Robbie stated. It was true. Gideon looked like trash. His shirt had multiple stains from sweat and food because he had not bothered to change his clothes in the past week. Gideon's face and hair were also greasy because he had decided to stop taking showers. What was the point? He had no one to impress. Not anymore. Despite clearly not being ok Gideon still chose to give Robbie the standard answer.
"Yeah I'm fine" Robbie's face told Gideon that he did not believe Gideon's lie. Gideon could care less if Robbie believed him or not. He was on his own again like he always was, but at least he had been able to enjoy having a friend for a while. Even if it was cut short by a bratty jerk. Gideon turned to leave, but Robbie put a hand on his shoulder. "What!?" Gideon snapped at him. Robbie ignored Gideon's annoyance and anger. He knew Gideon needed a friend right now, and he was here to be just that.
"I noticed you playing Fight Fighters" He commented. Gideon raised his eyebrow.
"Yeah I was, so what?" He asked. Robbie smirked and adjusted his glasses.
"I just so happen to be Gravity Fall's number one Fight Fighter champion" he informed Gideon. His tone made it very apparent that he was proud of this achievement. Now Gideon was intrigued. Fight Fighters had been his favorite game from his childhood, and now he could play someone who was actually good at the game. Who knows? Maybe he could actually learn something from Robbie. Gideon's mood immediately brightened. "You wanna play?" Robbie asked pulling out a dollar from his wallet. Gideon smiled.
"Your on!" He declared. Robbie inserted the dollar, and the two began picking their characters. Gideon's was rid of the all consuming pit of loneliness in his heart, but only for the moment. It would be back.

Dipper was feeling fantastic. Tyrone had located the first journal, and Dipper was rid of one problem as he knew of Pacifica's absence. It was a shame Dipper had to resort to threatening her. Gideon should have just handed him the journal why he had the chance, but now Dipper got to do things the fun way. Mabel had always been spontaneous. If she was angry she acted on it as quickly as she could, but Dipper enjoyed schemes. He enjoyed the thrill of pulling off a perfect plan without getting caught. Control made him feel unstoppable. Who is he kidding? He is unstoppable. Now that Tyrone had located the first journal all he had to do was take it, and after that was done he would have a nice chat with Gideon. The journals would give him total control of everything. Which is why Dipper got annoyed when Stan stopped him from leaving.
"Hey Captain Sparkly Cape where you going?" He asked with a mischievous grin. Stan knew Dipper hated that nickname. Stan was always teasing him, and he had been sick of it since day one. Stan also infuriated Dipper by pretending to be Mabel's and his parent. Dipper's parents were dead. Dipper of all people would never forget that. His only family was Mabel, not this joke of a grunkle.
"Out, so leave me alone" Dipper replied with typical teenage attitude. Stan sighed. Dipper had never warmed up to him. Not in the seven years they had been together. Stan tried all sorts of family bonding days to try and get Dipper to connect with him, but apparently Dipper was not into forging money. Or county prison.
"Ok, but your sister is out shopping with Candy, and Grenda" Stan told him. Dipper shivered when he mentioned Candy. Mabel had quickly befriended Candy and Grenda which was fine with Dipper until Candy started forcing herself on him. She is a selfish spoiled brat that thinks she can get anything she wants, even Dipper.
"Whatever. I don't care. If you don't have anything important to say then I would rather you not speak at all" Dipper said coldly as he strolled out of the front door. It was time to have a meeting with his most trusted friend. Himself, or a clone of himself anyways.

Dipper trudged through the forest with Tyrone by his side. Tyrone had been the first clone Dipper had made, and they both agreed that Tyrone was a better name than Dipper number two. Tyrone managed the other clones when Dipper was absent. Tyrone kept them in line to prevent rebellion, and made sure they each did the task that had been assigned to them.
"How is the search for the last journal going?" Dipper asked monotonously. The search for the missing journal was one of three jobs Dipper had assigned to the clones. Unfortunately for Tyrone he had no good news to give Dipper on that end.
"All we have managed to figure out so far is that it isn't hidden in the forest like the journal Gideon posses" Tyrone offered up in hopes that it would appease Dipper for the time being. He knew Dipper was becoming more and more impatient to get his hands on the journals as the days went by. Luckily Dipper was in a good mood today.
"That's something at least... And the other jobs?" Dipper questioned. Tyrone had better reports for those assignments.
"3 and 4 are on the trail of what we believe to be the hide behind as for 7... He hasn't been able to locate any item with the abilities you are looking for" Tyrone calmly responded. Dipper took in the information before forming his next question.
"What are 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 doing?" Dipper wondered what they could possibly be doing if not what he had assigned them. Of course Tyrone knew Dipper would be furious if he found clones slacking off. That's why he had them working in the bunker.
"5 and 6 are combing through the creator's notes" Tyrone had dubbed the previous owner of the bunker the creator because they were sure that there had only been one owner before them. "8, 9, and 10 are setting up the bunker to be a command center of sorts to make missions more efficient" Tyrone continued. Dipper nodded with approval. "How are things on your end?" Tyrone asked referring to Gideon's journal. Dipper smiled.
"Gideon is more formidable then I originally thought, but it's okay because he is on the verge of breaking" Dipper informed Tyrone. Tyrone raised an eyebrow.
"You haven't killed him yet?" He asked surprised. Dipper himself was not sure why he had not killed Gideon yet. He couldn't possibly be going soft, so what was it? Dipper refused to let Gideon plague his mind any further than he already had.
"No, but it doesn't matter because I will get the journal one way, or another" Dipper replied coolly.

Gideon walked down the sidewalk completely penniless. All of his savings had gone to playing that stupid game, and for what? He had only been able to play three rounds with Robbie before Wendy showed up to ruin everything. Gideon had almost beaten Robbie who was using Admiral Big Calves when Wendy decided to show up with her stupid emo make up, and all black clothes. After Wendy had persuaded Robbie to play with her instead of Gideon, Gideon decided to leave. He walked quickly to get home because he was getting tired of all the stares he was receiving. As he was walking past an alleyway he felt a mystical force pull him in, but it was not enough to drag him into the alleyway. No the mystical force decided to slam him against a dumpster. Dipper freaking Gleeful.
"How did you find me?" Gideon asked with an annoyed tone. Dipper smirked as he walked towards Gideon. Gideon stood up to reach eye level with Dipper, but Dipper was still three inches to tall for him.
"I followed the scent of death and decay" Dipper replied. For once he was telling the truth. He had William track Gideon down for him using a piece of Gideon's hair that Dipper had snagged from his room during the party. "So tell me, why are you wearing trash for clothes?" Dipper asked curiously. Gideon was in fact not wearing trash for clothes, but it sure did look that way. Gideon's red shirt was covered in the food he had eaten for the past week, and his shorts were covered in mud along with the vest. The only thing that was not dirty was Gideon's favorite pine tree hat.
"We don't all have billions of dollars to spend on clothes like you Gleeful" Gideon was referring to all of the fancy clothes Dipper always wore. Although today he was wearing a blue vest, a black under shirt, and black slacks. That was as simple as he was going to get. Dipper's hand gripped his amulet, and Gideon was flung to the wall where he was pinned.
"You might not have billions of dollars, but you still have something I want" Dipper told Gideon. Gideon's eyes narrowed with deathly determination.
"You're not getting the journal" he declared. Dipper was noticeably annoyed by that response.
     "Why?" Dipper asked.
"What do you mean why?" Gideon hissed back.
"I just don't know why you won't give me the flipping journal! I mean I tried asking, I tried threatening, I tried stealing it, heck I even sent a wax army after you! I mean come on! Just give me the journal" Dipper ranted. Gideon rolled his eyes.                                                                                            "I'm not giving you the journal because you are a Butt face!" Gideon declared. Dipper's scowl deepens as he lets go of Gideon's collar.                                                                                                                         "Town square Tomorrow. Bring the journal or watch everything you care about burn" Dipper vanished moments after his threat had been uttered, leaving Gideon to his doubts. Gideon had to weigh out his options. He could give the psychopath the mysterious journal which could lead to world subjugation, or he could show up and try and fight Dipper off however that would not work as Dipper had a mystique amulet with ancient powers and he had sausages for arms. His final option would be to  not show up at all, but that would mean sacrificing everything including Uncle Bud, Robbie, the Shack, and who knows what else. Dipper was powerful and persistent,if he wanted to he could hunt down the rest of Gideon's family or worse. He could hunt down Pacifica. The next morning Gideon found himself in the arcade agonizing over what he was about to do. Gideon had considered his options, and decided that he would rather die trying to protect the journal rather then sacrifice his family for it. The problem was Gideon could not muster up the courage to go face Dipper. He thought that if he played enough Fight Fighters he could inspire himself to meet with Dipper, but he kept losing to Dr. Karate which only served as a painful reminder to the difference in power between him and Dipper. Gideon went to jam another quarter into the machine, but it instead ended up smashing against the game which lead to it falling on to the floor.                                                                                                                                           "Stupid quarter" Gideon muttered as he bent down to pick up the lost coin. When he reached around the corner of the machine, trying to search for the quarter, he discovered carvings on the machine. "What's this?" escaped Gideon's lips. "The key to ultimate power" Gideon read aloud. 'Finally I can beat Dr. Karate!' was his first thought. he proceeded to read the combo; <-<-pp-><-kkP(x3)k. It took Gideon about three times to get the combo right, but when he did a blinding light emerged from the screen of the game. It was so bright that Gideon actually had to look away.                                                                                                                                                                                               "CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER" A bold new voice demanded. Gideon looked up to the bright screen with confusion. Does everything in this town have to be weird? Gideon asked himself. Unknown to him the answer was yes.                                                                                                                              "R-Rumble Mcskirmish?"  He hesitantly sputtered out to the booming voice. The glowing light that was emanating from the screen glowed brighter, and brighter until it disappeared altogether. Gideon carefully opened his eyes to find the arcade room was back to normal other than the giant pixelated video game character... Wait giant pixelated video game character? Gideon did a double take to make sure it was more than imagination. Too his surprise it was not. The character standing before Gideon was none other than the infamous Rumble Mcskirmish. He wore bright blue karate pants with a red belt tied around his waste then another red belt to match the first one tied around his forehead. Rumble wore no shirt because his six-pack abs burned all of them away. Rumble looked down at Gideon.                                                                                   "Take me to the Soviet Union!"
