xiii. pianississimo

things are always the same now. for jihoon and soonyoung, at least. the older promised himself that he will take jihoon out on dates every night until he has to leave. jihoon doesn't have anything negative to say about it though. honestly, he loves the idea, and he doesn't even have to tell soonyoung about how much he loves being spoiled. the latter just knows.

this time, soonyoung decided to take jihoon to his house. obviously, the younger didn't expect it but it's all fine to him because the house is just a few blocks away from school. when soonyoung swings the door open, warm, soothing air makes its way to push inside jihoon's clothes. just a few seconds in and he already feels comfortable.

he doesn't know why he expected the boy's house to be a total disaster zone (he's glad it didn't turn out that way though) surprisingly, the house looks neat and cozy. the place is dimly lit with a couch on the ash grey rug in front of the television. and at the center stands a small coffee table.

soonyoung takes jihoon's coat off for him and points to the couch with a smile, giving jihoon the idea that he should take a seat for a bit while soonyoung walks around fixing things. the younger sits down and moves his feet on the fluffy rug out of boredom. seriously, there's nothing to do. and he doesn't know why soonyoung took him here.

after a few minutes, soonyoung comes back with a lot of food and shows jihoon a dvd. right, movies, jihoon muses. "soonyoung....i can't hear well," he mumbles

"oh no i forgot!" soonyoung reacts and hits his forehead with the dvd, "i'm sorry jihoon, now this date is a mess."

"it's okay, i'd still love to watch a movie with you."

soonyoung pouts at jihoon for a few seconds before flashing a smile, as if he just hatched an idea. the boy walks in front to play the movie and sits down next to jihoon, turning the volume all the way down to zero. "why did you mute it? you wouldn't hear anything," jihoon says

"that makes it fair."

jihoon chuckles. he can't believe this guy. for minutes, they watch the movie in silence. jihoon is concentrating on trying to understand the story while soonyoung is just completely confused. he looks at jihoon for a quick second. jihoon looks back, and soonyoung turns his head to the television.

jihoon's attention immediately veers back to the movie and soonyoung steals a glance again. when jihoon finally catches him staring, they both smile shyly and look away. soonyoung grabs the opportunity to interlock his fingers with jihoon's and press his lips against the back of his hand.

of course, jihoon blushes. even more when soonyoung leans forward to kiss him on his cheek. the younger couldn't help but smile and move into a more comfortable position when soonyoung's arm makes its way around his waist to pull him closer.

jihoon is completely new to all of this, sitting comfortably in between soonyoung's legs as they watch the movie. unfortunately, he already missed a lot of scenes so he can't keep up with the story anymore. they both stay quiet for a few more seconds until jihoon giggles softly when soonyoung's lips land on the space between his right shoulder and neck. it tickled him a bit and soonyoung noticed that. that gave him a reason to do it again, of course. and again. and again, until jihoon laughs and uses his hand to push soonyoung's head away.

the two eventually fall sleep halfway through the movie. soonyoung's chin lays on top of jihoon's head, with his arms wrapped around the boy. it's dead quiet inside the room. no words were spoken that night, but they can both agree that it's the best date they ever had. they couldn't be happier.
