Recap
I looked over and hugged Keith, letting my head fall to his chest. I felt him tense but then relax. Keith ran a hand through my hair. No words were spoken, but I could feel the connection. For some reason I feel like Keith really understands me. Yeah I still think he's an incredibly stupid guy, who led me into a weird world with no sunlight, but I don't mind, I was never a genius myself.

PS. This chapter will be in Keith's perspective, just so you all don't get confused. :)

I woke up that morning to the sounds of muffled screaming, a very odd way to wake up for sure but of course I can never catch a break.   I rubbed the last bit of sleep out of my eyes and sat up, stretching out my arms. When I opened my eyes, I saw Lance standing in the middle of our hut, still as if he was made of ice. Lances hands were out in front of him, not daring to even flinch. Small streams of white bled from his fingertips, spilling onto the rest of his hands. His freckles shone the same blinding white as his fingers, making his face glow beautifully. His eyes were closed, squeezed shut as if to brace himself. His legs were stiff, stuck about shoulder length apart. What surprised me though was that surrounding us were dozens of stars, some big and some small. They looked kinda deformed, and they were everywhere. "...Lance?" I spoke quietly, which caused the tan boy to open his eyes slowly. "Help.. they won't stop." He pleaded. I chuckled and swung my legs over the side of my bed, getting up and readjusting my shirt, which was pretty smelly if I had to be honest. I slowly approached the other before he squealed a little. I raised my eyebrows before smiling. "Could you just breathe for a minute?" I laughed and slowly pushed his hands back down to his sides. I could hear Lance sigh in relief when nothing new formed, his sun kissed skin relaxing. "I'm guessing that without the Magic Finders I cant control anything." He laughed nervously, his lovely sky shaded eyes coming to meet mine. "Just.. Lets maybe try to get you outside the hut before we both get blinded to death?" Lance nodded and started to creep to the door, I watched from behind as he tried his best to make small subtle movements but it wasn't really working.

I noticed that Lance does this thing, he'll rush through things because he's either one of three things. Scared, angry, or eager. It was a pretty small detail, but it made me smile. Actually, a lot of things about this boy made me smile. I know I'm probably rushing into things, since we met not even 2 days ago. But something about Lance just gets me excited. Excited for a new start, a new friend.

Since I got myself into trouble at my old school, I went to therapy to help with my anger issues. It was hard because whatever I seemed to say, the lady that was 'helping' me only criticized me for what I did wrong. I hated that. I hated that I was only being told on how to improve, with no effort being put in to build me up. It sounds kinda narcissistic when I say it like that, but I was always a kid who needed some extra encouragement. Growing up, I never had strong relationships with anyone but my parents. It was like other children naturally drifted away from me. 10 year old me couldn't understand what was wrong. Maybe it was my unusually long mullet, or my fair skin that felt like sandpaper. Maybe my eyes? They were a bit intimidating when I looked in the mirror, but even when I tried to soften up and smile it always seemed scary. My baby teeth were round, but as soon as I started to loose them, the sharp canines that were hidden away in my fleshy gums started to show themselves. It made me even more angry. I looked tough, so maybe I should act tough. That didn't end up working either, it only made me more aggressive and distant.

But then came Lance. That tan, lanky boy that was staring at me behind a wall of rocks on the shore. I locked eyes with him. I was completely expecting him to look away, like most people do when they make eye contact with me, but he just stared right back. It surprised me that a stranger, who hadn't had any time to get to know me, wasn't even the least bit intimidated by me. And it only got better once I shared a night under the sky with him. He was so interesting and the way he smiled at me as if I wasn't some freak show, it really did make me smile.

Snapping out of my small slide show of memories, I followed Lance out the door. I breathed in a big gulp of air. Once both of us got down the wood stairs we were met with the two twin centaurs, hunched around a fire with a glass bottle sitting on a frame structure above it. Around the two were giant heaps of the plants we got yesterday.

I waved at the two, paying more attention to Kuro then the other. Me and Shiro locked eyes, neither of us said anything but I could sense the tension. Shiro broke eye contact with me and instead stared behind me, smiling up a storm. It made me scoff and roll my eyes, god how obvious could he be? I turned around and raised my eyebrow playfully at the tanned boy, he was again surrounded by a small cluster of stars. "I see you've been busy Lance." Kuro looked up from her brewery smiling. "Having trouble with your magic?"

"No Kuro I naturally wake up accidentally making thousands of gassy balls in the middle of my hut." Lance retorted, sarcasm dripping off of every word. It was clear Lance was annoyed, he was practically fuming in silent anger. Shiro chuckled, he stood up and walked over to lance. "Look, you need to relax, then at least you'll be able to control it a little bit." He advised. I huffed. "That was my idea." I ended up mumbling under my breath, this caused a glare from Shiro but Lance didn't seem to hear me. Lance took a few deep breaths in, soon the stars faded and died out, he still refused to move but at least he wasn't gonna be burnt to a crisp.

I smiled and sat down on one of the log stools, patting the empty space beside me for Lance to sit down. The brunette met my gaze and grinned, plopping down onto the log. The fire reminded me of the first time I met Lance, on the beach with my other friends. It was bright, lighting up everyone's faces. The sparking embers spit up and out into the air, dying into a dark charcoal grey. I couldn't help but smile, it was nice to just relax and remember everything.

Kuro, this time, met my gaze. "Keith, have you had any problems regarding your magic?" She asked, using a small knife to separate a giant leaf. I shrugged, "No not really. I woke up in the middle.." I paused, I was gonna say 'the middle of the night' but anytime I woke up it would be the middle of the night. ".. middle of my sleep with a pain in my head. But that's about it." I continued. "That's just your ears trying to get through your skull." Shiro replied bluntly. I gagged a bit and choked on the air I breathed in. "I'm sorry, excuse me?" My eyebrows laced together in confusion. "Your a shapeshifter Keith, all shapeshifters have ears on their heads."

"Like... pointy, fluffy ears??" I said with a bit of disgust. "They aren't always pointy, sometimes they can be tall like hares, or short like wolves. It just depends on the person really." Shiro shrugged. My shoulders slumped down and I crossed my arms over my chest. "You'll be a furry." Lance muttered, trying desperately to hold in his laughter. "Lance if you don't knock it off you'll be sleeping outside the hut." I muttered back, Lance only raised his brows playfully and giggled more.

We broke out of our small quarrel when Kuro stood and walked over to one of the many small tents the were near the fire. She came back with two outfits, both had a sort of homemade look to them. It reminded me of when my mother would stitch up my jeans, she even taught me how to sew but she was always better then me. Lance and I both smiled and took the pieces of clothing.

Lance had gotten a light blue shirt, some brown cropped pants, some laced boots and a roll of what looked like white linen wrap. The shirt was long and baggy, it puffed out since it got filled with air but the hem around the neck was built high up so that his chest was still covered well. The bottom faded into a dark navy, and it was covered in small white dots. The pants were frayed on the edges, the stopped at about Lances knee It would seem. His boots looked like they were made of some type of soft material, which I thought was a bit weird especially for shoes. "The wrap is meant to go around your arms and hands. It'll help you control your abilities better." Kuro explained and Lance smiled in return.

I tore my eyes away from the exchange to look at my own clothing. I had gotten a light purple shirt, black pants, a dark purple cloak, a pair of laced boots just like Lances, a pair of black fingerless gloves and a skintight undershirt. My shirt had the same baggy exterior as Lances, only necks hem was a bit lower. The undershirt has long, cream coloured sleeves, it was soft and felt like silk. The thing I was most intrigued about was the cloak, it flowed like a river over my hands and it was covered in a bunch of tiny, white dots exactly like the blue shirt. The pants were normal length, they reached to about my ankles and I could feel the ins and outs of the weaved pattern along the fabric. My boots were a bit shorter then Lances. While Lances reached to his mid calf, mine stopped a few inches above my ankle.

"Oh and Keith, that cloak will help with your abilities aswell, but since you don't seem to have that many backlashes like Lance has, you don't have to wear it." Kuro smiled. "No, I like it actually." I replied, and shared an excited glance with Lance. "Alright you two boys go get changed!" Kuro shooed is away from the fire.

After a bit, we both bounded down the steps down from the trees, and walked to the fire. Well, I walked, Lance recklessly sprinted but I wasn't gonna nag him for it. I couldn't help but do a little twirl around in my new outfit I loved how the cloak swayed against my back, it was comforting to me in a strange way. Kuro grinned as she trotted up to both of us. "Would you look at you two! You look amazing!" Lance beamed. I watched the two chat and giggle like two high school girls who just asked out their crushes. I rolled my eyes, don't blame me for not having an affectionate personality. I walked back to the fire and sat down. "So.. what's our next move? Since me and Lance are 'the chosen ones'." I asked, Shiro thought for a moment. "We should probably go find the Royal advisor, she would probably know what to do."

I nodded and stared more into the fire, the crackle and crunches of the embers filled my ears as I drifted off into my thoughts.

Oh my god this is the longest chapter I have ever written. I'm sorry you have to read something so long. Anyways, if you couldn't tell I was heavily inspired by a photo from @/kiilea on Instagram for their outfits.

So if you want a better picture of what i envision here's the actual photo!
I actually used this photo for the new cover (yes I made yet another one) and I'm finally satisfied with it!
Sorry for the long wait, I've been a bit caught up in writers block and school.
I'll try to update more often I promise!
Alright bye!
