Hehehe I love torturing  you guys, (not really), but looks like you'll have to wait a bit longer for the dungeon.

Pitch's Pov

This is ridiculous, I shouldn't have to watch this noisy little brat! I mean it's better than having my head cut off for what I've done, but I know that won't happen... My King refuses to kill me, I am after all one of his few successful experiments, so he'd simply make me a scapegoat, and I've seen what happens to the other experiment when they disobey. A shudder ran up my spine when I thought of the horrible tortures they went through, "do I have to be here?" My thoughts were interrupted by the brunette in front of me, "excuse me?" I questioned, "my so called 'husband' isn't even here, so why do I have to be?" She grumbled.

A sigh left my throat, to be honest I felt bad for the poor girl, she had been taken from her family- much like I was- but her difference was, she stayed strong, she didn't give in to the beatings and torture. But I kept these thoughts to myself, it's my job to, I can't show emotion, regular squids don't have emotions, they can't feel empathy for others, that's why they have no remorse when they kill hundreds, spilt families in two, or kill parents in front of their children. But us 'experiments' we're.. Incomplete.. To say the least, we felt pain, sorrow, joy, all kinds of emotions, and in most of us our old memories would resurface from time to time, resulting in relapses, it's my suspicion that 'my Prince' has been having relapses, but Derpolis seems to think he can control him.

"Hey! Answer me when I speak to you dammit!" She growled, I looked at her with little interest, "you have to be shown off, whether you like it or not," I stated, she started to complain, but I could see through her, she's feeling scared, alone, abandoned, and just overwhelmed, she puts up a pretty good act, but when you've been in her place you know exactly how she is feeling. "Will you stop complaining already, no one is going to listen to you," I growled, she started to mock me in a way that seemed angry, but I noticed her small shivers of fear, the small amount of extra water in her eyes, and how she began to tap her foot out of anxiety. I've been where she is, the fear of not knowing if someone will kill you because you're from that kingdom, the sadness from knowing you'll probably never see your family again, and the anxiety of just being starred at, of being judged like a show dog or science experiment.

I sighed, maybe.. Maybe she can help me... Maybe she'll understand. I grabbed her wrist and walked over to Derpolis, bowing as I reached him, "what do you want Pitch," some squids starred at me, it's very uncommon for us to have legitimate names, "My Prince's Queen would like to return to her room with her husband, would it be allowed of me to escort her?" I asked, "go ahead" he shooed me away. I grabbed her and pulled her away, "hey I don't wann-" "shut up and follow me if you want to ever see your family again," I whispered, she nodded slowly, and I lead her down the hall to a 'storage room' which was my sleeping courtiers.

"Okay, we should be safe to talk in here, but I'll have to take you to your husband afterwards," I stated, "why are you even trying to help me?" She growled, I sighed and sat down, "because even though I'm a squid now, I used to be human," she starred at me, "what?" "Your friend isn't the only one who was an experiment, there are a lot of us, not hundreds, but enough that my King feels that he'd have the upper hand in a fight," I explained. I noticed her skeptical look, "what?" "Why help me though? You have no reason to what-so-ever, you could just let me suffer and rot, I've been nothing but cruel to you, why help me?" She asked, I sighed, "I've been where you are, I was Derpolis's first fully successful experiment, most of the 'successful' ones would die after a few days of having the serum in them, but after he succeeded with me he found a way to make the serum perfect, but there was another problem," "what was it?" "The hosts," "huh?" "He claims that he knows what it is, but he doesn't, you see there is a specific gene in the body that the serum needs to be able to latch onto the host without killing him or her, unfortunately this gene is semi-rare, so most of the experiments end in death, but the ones that succeed are used to further the experiment, I was 'lucky' enough to not be used like that, I was given a role as a guard so he could simply show off his first successful experiment," she starred at me speechless, "what about me- leaving?" She asked in a hopeful tone.

"Oh, that," I sighed, "yes that, the thing I came in here for," she snapped, "well I haven't exactly devised a full plan, but just know that when you leave, I'm going with you," "what?!" She shouted, I shushed her so that we wouldn't be caught. "Why should I have to go anywhere with you?" She growled, "because it's my plan, and I want out of here just as much as you do," I sassed, "well-" she started to try and think of reasons I shouldn't come, "-If Adam and the others see you, you'll be killed on sight!" She finally said. "I'll be in a disguise until you explain the situation to them, then I can help them end this," (a/n I am so mad now, I am writing this part on an I-pad, and it fucking glitches and deleted at least two-hundred words and won't undo. I have never been this mad in my life, I can't remember what I fucking wrote.) "why do you want to come with me so badly? I would do just fine on my own," she growled, "I want to come so I can maybe have a normal life and freedom, and no you wouldn't," I stated. "Oh really and why wouldn't I?" "Because without me near you, you wouldn't be able to get 30 feet from your room without being taken back by other guards," I explained, "b-but-" "I swear I will not bring harm to you or your family, just please, bring me with," I pleaded.

She seemed a bit uneasy at first, but reluctantly nodded, "fine, if it gets me back to my brother then I'll do it," "brother?" I questioned, she froze, "y-you heard nothing!" she growled shakily. "Calm down, I won't tell Derpolis, after all, I lied to him about you being the one we wanted," I stated, "what?" "I knew we'd benefit from having him around, but I figured we'd benefit more from having you," I stated, "w-well, thank you," "you're thanking me for kidnapping you?" I questioned, "no, I'm thanking you for not kidnapping my brother, he's not as strong willed as I am, he's been through a lot in his life, he wouldn't survive down here," she told me, "well.. you're welcome.. I guess," the air suddenly became tense. "Well I should get you to your room, now keep in mind you'll need to keep acting like you have been, don't act differently or Derpolis will know something is up, understood?" I asked, leading her out the door, "understood, sac for brains," she smirked, "and you wonder why we hate you butter lovers," "nah we know you all hate when we tease you," She smiled. "You should smile more, it looks good on you," I complimented, "did you just flirt with me?" she gagged, "heh, you wish, I'm not really-" I stopped myself, slightly blushing, "not really what?" she asked, "d-don't worry about it," I stuttered.

when we got to the room we were met with an empty space, "one second," I whispered, "excuse me! where is the prince? His bride wishes to join him in their bedroom," I asked one of the Squids standing near the door, "the last I heard he was heading to the dungeon," they said in a monotone voice. I say 'they' because regular squids don't exactly go by a gender, only us 'special squids' go by certain genders, unfortunately Derpolis won't allow us our 'different genders', for example I knew someone who- before the experiment- was genderfluid, but Derpolis demanded that they claim the one he stated, which they refused to do, resulting in Derpolis deeming them a 'failed experiment' since they continued to think for themselves. They were a nice person, kept the other prisoners spirits up, they didn't deserve to die. 

"Pitch? Pitch!" My train of thought was cut off by- I just realized I never learned her name, "huh? sorry, my queen I got lost in my own thoughts," I said bowing, she realized I was acting this way due to the squid behind me, "Excuse me for a moment my queen," I turned to the squid behind me, "please inform the prince that his queen will be waiting for him in their chambers, and that I will be in there with her until he returns," the squid nodded and left. I pulled- whatever her name is- into the room, "what happened out there?" she asked, "what do you mean?" I asked, tilting my head, "well you kinda spaced out and were shaking," "oh, was I? Oops," I shrugged.  "I wonder what Ty- Squidlox is doing in the dungeon," she muttered, "probably questioning-" I shut my mouth as quickly as I opened it, she can't know he's here, she'll want to help him and ruin everything!

"Questioning who?" she asked, "u-um n-no one important," I said, "are you-" "what's your name?" I quickly interrupted her, "huh?" "well I never learned your name and since we'll be partners for a while I guess I should," "oh, well it's Natalie but everyone calls me Nat," she said. I nodded, then heard a knock at the door, "you have to answer," I whispered, "oh! um, c-come in!" she shouted, "your husband is in the middle of something my queen, so it will be a while before he returns," "o-oh okay, you can go," she said awkwardly, making me chuckle when the squid left. "Don't laugh at me!" she pouted, "sorry, you're just so awkward, it's adorable honestly," I smiled, we then started to bicker back and forth, maybe this girl will help, here's hoping everything goes well.

Hey guys! hope you enjoyed this chapter! I got really frustrated when it deleted everything I wrote, but I managed to get a- hopefully -decent chapter out.

And now we are getting deeper into the story and learning more about Pitch, bet you all thought he was a selfish prick huh? Nope! honestly when I was planning this book out Pitch and Nat were my favorite Oc's. Simply because I was able to get so much detail into their pasts and futures, so expect more on Pitch and Nat!
