Towards the End
Addie's POV
"AGGHH!" Everyone screamed as the portal spit us out harshly into the Dark Realm, groaning in pain as we all picked ourselves off the darkly colored ground,
"All who landed too hard on their backside say uugghhh..." Aspen moaned from where she landed.
"Uugggghhhh!"
We all chorused at once before we took in their surroundings; red and black sand made up the ground and the whole world looked like the inside of a cave with dark stalactites and stalagmites popping out of the ground and ceiling every few feet.
"I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the eyesores are natural?" Stone questioned as he put a hand to his forehead, rubbing his eyes furiously.
"Yep, Torvo created this world to be straining both on the mind and body for anyone who wasn't welcome here and the heat doesn't help either." Ara explained as she thrust her hands up and created a flurry of snowflakes that swirled around the group cooling everyone down.
"Whaaa..." Stone gaped at Ara, "Seriously, how many of you with powers are there?"
"More than you could ever know." Beggip commented as she waved her scythe over the ground and an image of Madegno materialized over the ground heading toward a scary-looking castle in the distance.
"There's Torvo's castle." Beggip pointed to it in the far far distance.
"Seriously, why a castle, a fortress would have been better guarded?" Sadie asked dubiously as she crossed her arms.
"My grandfather was a power-hungry sorcerer who wanted to rule the worlds as a tyrant, so it doesn't really surprise me..." I deadpanned as I started walking toward the castle, but there was a lake of some mysterious purple fluid blocking the path, with no way around it.
"Let me see if..." I started to say as I shifted forms, but the red steam came back out, forcing me to shift back as the stinging returned before I stemmed it again.
"Flying's not an option." I announced to the group as I shook my hand to disperse the steam away.
"What's this goop?" Lily kneeled down next to the edge to closer examine the stuff.
"Careful, we don't know what it could do!" Lily Rose pulled her away before Ara created an ice bridge across the lake. Everyone looked at it doubtfully until she assured them with,
"Don't worry, it's not slippery." So everyone started to walk across it and as they did they saw a waterfall on the lakeside, making everyone ooh and aahed at it.
"This place reminds me of when I first died..." I muttered to myself as we got off the bridge to the other side of the lake.
"You've died before?" Dreamer questioned, genuinely surprised.
"Yep..." I used my telekinesis to break some stalagmites out of the path and throw them out and away from our way.
"Y'know maybe you should hold off on using your powers because of your *cough* *cough*." Stone motioned with his eyes to my bracelet.
"I am well aware of the risks, but if it gets you to the battle against Madegno, then it'll be worth it." I responded a bit coldly, but continued forward with using my powers to clear our path.
"Stop talking like that, you're going to make it there too." Dreamer told me as we trudged on.
"Even if I do, and the time comes to making the choice, you will choose to save the Order."
"We'll burn that bridge if it comes to it."
There was a tense and serious silence until it was broken with,
"Sooo, what was it like to die the first time?" Aspen tried to change the subject, but ended up making it a bit more awkward as everyone looked at her, "What?"
"I don't really remember..." I climbed a stalactite to determine how much further we had to go before jumping back down, "All I remember is Cassie hacking at me with her axe, giving Jesse the bracelet to use, darkness, and the next thing I know, I'm back, ready to fight."
"I thought you said you were fated to die in the future, how did you manage to die then?" Sadie questioned curiously.
"Wait what?" Beggip and Ara both looked confused until Stone briefly explained,
"Torvo is her infinity great grandfather and is the one who cursed her to an island in the middle of nowhere guarded by killer kelp for hundreds of years before she was freed by the leader of our town, who happens to be the niece of Herobrine and Notch, and her boyfriend."
"Oh..."
"I think when that glitch affected me, it temporally overwrote my curse, only it resulted in me almost being killed."
"So there is a way to break your curse?"
"Not unless it means death..."
"Come on, there's always a way."
"Not this time..." I whispered before we saw that the castle was right in front of us, eerily waiting for us to enter.
"Remember, once we enter, keep your guard up." I reminded the others and they all nodded in agreement before they all pulled out their weapons and I pushed the door open with my telekinesis.
The interior inside was, of course, darkly colored, decorated with black and purple banners hanging from the ceiling with creepy looking statues of mobs holding up pillars on the sides of the walkways.
"At least I know what I'm gonna be having nightmares about tonight." Beggip cringed at two statues of Orecks with lava pouring out of their mouths.
"I thought you two were the 'Portal-Keepers'?" Sadie questioned as she swung her sword to break away some spider webs in their path.
"Yeah... we haven't really had any real danger pass through the Hall so we've never actually had to fight or see anything creepy or terrifying." Ara admitted as she used her powers to freeze out the lava falls that surrounded them as they walked through a hallway that led to a huge pair of doors, similar to the ones that guarded Beacontown.
"Open Sesame." I opened the doors with a wave of my hand to reveal that the room was the throne room. We entered with our weapons raised, scanning the room for any sign of Madegno or the Order, but nothing... until,
"Then, you will not enjoy this..." A ghostly voice sounded in our heads as Madegno formed in front of the throne and several Orecks crawled out from their hiding spaces to surround us even from behind us by the doors.
"No, I'm pretty sure you're the one who's not going to like what we have in store for you if you don't let the Order go right now!" Dreamer yelled up to Madegno before he laughed sinisterly and waved a clawed hand to a section of wall that opened up to reveal that, behind a wall of iron bars, was the Order, Harper, Ivor, and Ivy, all unconscious.
"Ivy!" I reached out to her before Aspen pulled me back as the Orecks around us snarled menacingly, waiting for the chance to rip us limb from limb.
"You know what must be sacrificed, Accursed One..."
My furious expression melted to one of worry before I looked down and was about to step forward when Dreamer put an arm out to stop me and the others got in front of me with him as Stone called out,
"Not gonna happen without a fight, Tall, Dark, and Monstrous!"
"Very well..." Madegno poofed into his smoke form and made it surround us before Ara shot out an ice blast as Beggip used her scythe to fire a blast of magic, making him screech in pain and signaling for the Orecks to attack.
"Everyone, aim for the wings!" Sadie instructed the others as she sliced off an Oreck's wings and it vanished in a puff of smoke like a regular mob. Using that knowledge, everyone did as Sadie told them; Dreamer, Aspen, and Lily using their swords, Ara using her powers, Beggip using her scythe while Lily would distract them by parkouring around the room long enough for Stone to use his stick to slice off their wings.
I was using my telekinesis to launch pieces I pulled from the walls to fire at the Orecks who tried to catch any of the others off guard when I felt a chill down my spine and my arms were suddenly pinned to my sides as my vision blacked out for what felt like a split-second.
When my sight cleared up, I saw that all the Orecks had been killed by the others, but Madegno had me in one of his giant, clawed hands on the throne platform as the others still had their weapons drawn facing him.
"I believe you must make the choice now; your friend or your leaders..." Madegno smiled evilly as I felt his mere presence make my bracelet further corrupt even faster as the pain intensified, forcing me to hold back a pained scream. I could tell just from their faces they were considering picking me, but I yelled down, to Stone in particular, but to the group as a whole as well,
"You promised!"

AN- Should the MineGuard gang keep their promise to Addie and pick to save the Order or stay true to their own promises and try to save her and the Order? Comment on what you want to happen in the next chapter, but be warned... one of the choices contains death and it is not as it seems...
Hey guys! Sorry I'm posting this kind of late, but I've been dealing with some family issues that have been taking up some of my free time and couldn't work on and finish this chapter until today since it's my family's "lazy rainy day." I will be ending the voting period next week, December 5, and will work on the next chapter with the chosen outcome sometime that weekend.
Until then, Bye!
