3rd Person POV

"Addie!" Aspen tried to shake Addie awake from where she passed out on the grass.

"Where'd that.. thing go?" Dreamer asked as he and Sadie stomped out the fire around the lectern before it could have spread to the trees in the garden. Abruptly a high pitched scream was heard coming from Beacontown as well as loud cries of panic.

"Judging by those screams, in town." Stone pointed to the masses of people flooding past the garden with panicked looks on their faces.

"What's going on...?" The group looked down to see that Addie was starting to wake up.

"The big smoky creature flew off and I think it went to town." Lily explained as she and Lily Rose helped Addie to her feet.

"It was Madegno, I thought you said that the spell you were casting would rebanish him." Lily Rose questioned nervously.

"And what did he mean when he said that Melaferrum was a traitor?" Aspen asked curiously, making everyone look at her in question, "What? I can understand backward messages from this journal I read once about paranormal creatures and activity."

"Think you can lend me that later?" Addie asked shakily.

"Sure. It even has a whole chapter on curses and-"

"Back to before," Dreamer directed the conversation back on track, "We have to check on the citizens and see what's spooking them."

"Then let's go." Lily pulled out her iron sword as the others followed and they all ran into town, weapons drawn.

When they got to the center of town where the celebration was being held, they saw the stage in ruins with all the banners that had been hung around the surrounding area strewn across the ground. The people were limping around helping others who had been severely injured in the attack with dirt and ash streaked on their faces from the fires that were being put out by others with buckets of water.

"Ivy!" Addie yelled out as Ivy came running at her full speed with enough force to knock her onto her backside again.

"I'm so glad you're Ok..."Addie sat on the ground and continued to hug Ivy, crying a bit into her fur as everyone else surveyed the damaged in front of them. More fires were being started from small sparks, but, luckily, Nell was one of the ones pouring water on the fires as Radar was helping to patch up a little kid who had gotten his knees scraped in the human stampede.

"Guys, what happened?" Sadie asked as she went up to the two.

"Ok so I didn't really catch most of what happened because I was busy, but, from what I heard, a big something made of smoke like attacked everyone and took the Order." Nell explained as she put out the last of the fires.

"Wait what?!" The group exclaimed.

"Yeah, it came, said some gibberish, and whirled around them in a huge black cloud and disappeared!" Radar cried out worriedly, startling the kid he was helping.

"What did the gibberish sound like?" Aspen asked urgently.

"I-I-I don't know, I'm too panicked to remember. This.. thing was a whole new monster, one I've never seen or even read about before."

"Madegno was supposed to be rebanished, but I brought it to life instead." Addie admitted with guilt clear in her tone.

"So you brought that monster here!" A citizen yelled out in anger and more people started coming to see what was happening.

"No no it's not like that!" Addie tried to explain herself but the people wouldn't have it.

"That monster took the Order!"

"It destroyed our town!"

"She probably brought it here on purpose!"

"Please, everyone just calm down and hear her out!" Dreamer tried to settle the crowd down, but they just got more riled up.

"You're not good at handling crowds Dreamer..." Stone told him with an unamused look.

"What are we going to do now!?"

"How are we going to rebuild?"

"She's the monster!"

Screams and questions were being tossed left and right until they all heard a shrill,

"STOP!" Radar stood in between the group and the mob of people with a furious expression.

"You should all be ashamed of yourselves! Here in Beacontown we're supposed to be better than this!" Radar started his

"Yeah," Stone stepped forward in front of Addie followed by Dreamer, Sadie, Aspen, Lily, Lily-Rose, and Nell.

"We will get to the bottom of this, we can promise you that, but not when you all are threatening our friend, who was doing her best to help." Dreamer announced to the crowd.

"And if you all continue to threaten her, you'll have to answer to me." Lily warned the crowd as she drew her iron sword and held it in front of her defensively.

"But with less violence and more trying to see things from our perspective." Lily Rose added on.

The people started to grumble before Radar declared,

"Now, everyone head back to your homes to recuperate and we'll figure out what to do from here."

As the people were walking away, they could still hear some skepticism in their conversations about trusting Addie, but deigned to give her another chance.

"Whew that was gnarly..." Nell wiped her forehead as the group got together.

"Yeah, but at least it bought us some time to figure out what our next step is, so what is it?" Sadie inquired.

"Addie?" Stone turned to her to see she was still sitting on the ground petting Ivy, but looking off at nothing in particular.

"Addie?" Aspen waved her hand in front of her face, but she still didn't react.

"Hold on, this always works," Stone kneeled next to her and yelled right next to her ear, "OVERWORLD TO ADDIE!"

"Aaagghh!" Addie clapped her hands to her ear as her eyes pinched up in pain, "Are you trying to make me go deaf?"

"It was the only way to snap you out of it." Stone shrugged.

"I was trying to recall what Mel was telling me right before Madegno took her."

"What do you mean?" Dreamer asked.

"You asked before what he meant when he called her a 'traitor'," Addie directed to Aspen, "Well, she was telling me that she thought her ritual was going to rebanish him based off a code that Torvo created to be its 'weakness', but he lied to her, in addition to everything else."

"What else did he do?"

"You saw her blind eye right?"

"Yeah, it looks like mine... wait, does that mean we're related?!" Dreamer exclaimed hysterically.

"No! Torvo did that to her. Torvo 'trained' her to strengthen her abilities so that he could take them for himself using his created codes. One of the things he did to her was permanently blind her eye so that she could focus on seeing the future. So, no we're not related." Addie explained.

"Oh Ok..."

"Anyways, now that that little confusion was solved," Stone interjected, "The question remains, what do we do now?"

"'We' don't do anything, this is my mistake to fix and I can't put you guys in any more danger. Go back to your homes while I figure this out."

"No no no, you are not doing this by yourself." Stone responded determinedly.

"Yeah, like it or not, we're coming with you to stop Madegno and save the Order." Sadie told her as she crossed her arms. Addie looked like she was about to argue, but groaned a little in her mouth and resigned,

"Fine, but you guys have to promise me that if it comes to saving the Order or me, you'll save the Order."

"Addie..." Lily Rose started, but was interrupted,

"Promise me!"

"Ok ok, we promise." Dreamer answered holding up his hand.

"Now, we go back to my library to see if there's another solution to stopping Madegno. Maybe I have something in my notes that I took from my codebook before it burned that can help."

"I hope so too, all of Beacotown is counting on you guys." Radar announced to the group.

"No pressure or anything." Nell added before she and Radar left to check on the people, leaving the group by themselves.

"Yeah... no pressure..." Addie looked down at her bracelet to see that the once pitch jewels were a sickly gray as some gray cracks came out from the bracelet and were, slowly, making their way up her hand and arm.

"Woah, what's happening to your arm?" Lily asked as she saw what was happening.

"The powers that are within the bracelet, they were maintained by Mel after Torvo corrupted them and she let herself be bound to the bracelet to stop the corruption from overtaking the next bearer, but the lunar eclipse was the only time that her lifeforce was weakened enough to allow Torvo's last command for Madegno to form activated."

"What is it with villains having complicated backup plans?" Stone questioned.

"I don't know, but I have to be careful with using my powers now, or the corruption will spread more quickly."

"Then, let's get to your library before that happens." Stone told Addie reaching for her hand until Ivy leaped in front of Addie and growled at him.

"Ok, I'll keep my distance." Stone held up his hands to show that he understood.

The rest of the group chuckled a little as they all started walking to Addie's house to continue with their plan.

AN- Hey everyone! I guess I've been failing to update as frequently as I promised, but I have a lot on my plate this Senior year and I rarely have time between school, school activities, and home stuff to write stuff down to post, but luckily, I was able to work on this chapter today for you all to read.

I will try harder to try to update at least on the weekends and I will be creating another Wattpad account so that I can repost my Guardians of the Galaxy story as well as start posting my Avengers stories that I have been working on for a little over a year already. The whole movies aren't completely finished, but I want to start introducing the new characters so that I can rewrite the GOTG story to fit within the other story plot.

Until the next chapter, Bye
