chapter 8

I sat alone at the back of the bus, just how I wanted it, but then Tsuyu Asui came and sat in the seat in front of me and started to talk. Ruining my hopes of having a peaceful bus ride.

“Where did you learn to fight like that?” Asui asks.

“Well you see Asui-” I begin.

“Call me Tsu, Midoriya-kun.”

Okay...thats not weird at all. (Taste the sarcasm.)

"Sure thing Tsu-chan.", she blushed at her new nickname, "You see when I was a kid I went to martial art classes and mimicked the moves Heroes and famous fighters used. O-once I had them down I would incorporate them into my own fighting style.” I fluently lied, I'd never seen the inside of a proper dojo once in my life! The streets were my teacher.

“That's so manly...but that still doesn't explain how you managed to beat Bakubro. He is a difficult opponent and very ruthless. “ Kirishima asked. When did he get there?

Wait...defeat him! thought the memories had been changed to me losing. Damn now this will give me even more unwanted attention.

“It was very close though Kirishima. Deku only managed to defeat him because Bakugo collapsed first from pure exhaustion but then a minute later Deku collapsed due to his severe wounds since he was on the defensive the whole time.” Uraraka chimes in like the annoying thing she is.

“Anyway, to answer y-your question Kirishima, Kacchan and I are childhood f-friends, we spent most of our lives together, lived in the same building, went to the same schools...." I chuckled nervously.

"So I've watched him f-fight ever since we were little, I know how he fights and because of that I could counter his moves. Even after all these years he hasn't changed. Much." I gave them  a weak smile-it was tiring keeping up this happy, carefree façade. They; however, interpreted it as me being sad and in pain about something that had happened in my past. A broken friendship perhaps? Or something else...

“But I think it was mainly dumb luck.” I quickly added, as if I was trying to preserve Bakugo's superior image, with a sheepish grin on my face.

Kirishima left with a sour expression on his face and sat back down next to Bakugo. He said he was going to question Bakugo, to see if what I said was true and find out some other things. But I personally think he's going to interrogate Bakugo about me and what happened with him and I. Jealousy what a sneaky emotion it is.

“What is exactly is your Quirk Deku.” Uraraka is seriously starting to grate on my nerves with all her questions and her blinding smile.

“It's an emitter--type Quirk. It enhances my speed, reflexes and strength with raw energy but if I power up too much then I'll break my bones and tear my muscles. So if I push myself too much I'll break, literally.” I inform her, the nerdy side of myself shining through (one thing I don't need fake), hoping that it would shut her up. It didn't.

“That's so cool! You have such an amazing Quirk. You are going to be a great Hero.” Uraraka squealed with stars in her eyes while a large pink blush spread across her face.

“I agree, you have a powerful quirk, a friendly attitude, good looks to and you're kind and helpful.” Asui says while listing my 'qualities' on her fingers. Her ears were turning red, from competitive jealousy or a regular blush I did not know.

“Almost like Bakugo. Except the attitude part, and he looks scary most of the time.” Uraraka chuckles. As soon as she says that a heated argument breaks out, courtesy of Mr. Explody himself, but I wasn't paying any attention.

My mind was occupied with thinking about what the frog girl said about me. It appears my act is convincing people, which is a good thing. For me anyway, them not so much.

I look down at the ground to hide my smirk, these people are so gullible! They have obviously never seen this ugly world for what it is. Never seen or even heard of the Slums or The Underground and if they have it's like a mere fairytale to them. A story to scare little kids instead of the harsh reality that it is.

Yeah, the real world is full of harsh realities.

To be honest though it would be very funny to see their reactions when they learn just how bad reality is. How many dirty deeds the ones they admire have actually done and the amount of blood that is on their Heroes' hands. When they learn the truth about me, about who I am and what I've done, would they still want to talk to me. My smirk grows more sinister at the thought and I silently cackle.

I can't wait for the moment when I get to reveal myself, I'll have to capture their despairing faces on camera so I can cherish it foever. Especially Bakugo's.

“Alright off the bus. We are here.” Aizawa grunts before trudging down the stairs with his beloved sleeping bag under his arm.

I see Uraraka go into full on Fan girl mode when she saw the rescue Hero 13 and I joined in for the hell of it.

“Welcome, young Heroes-in-training. Today we will be doing search and rescue training. You all will be taught  very important skills and here you can apply them--” 13 rambled on but to me it sounded like she was gargling.

I looked around anxiously. Where are they! Oh I hope the plan will work.

The point of this attack is so that we can announce to the Heroes exactly what they want to hear, an over-powered Villain organization has come to violently declare that they hold a petty grudge against the number one Hero and that they will attack loud and proud in the public's eye, a perfect Villain to defeat and gain more praise and profit. This will lull the Heroes into a false sense of security and keep them preoccupied with the 'dangerous evil Villains' while I and the rest of the revolutionaries work in the shadows.

“Ah cool there are even fake villains to battle!” Kirishima suddenly exclaims.

The Heroes instantly go into battle mode and tell the students to get back.

So predictable! Instead of getting the students out of the dangerous situation they go and attack the danger and let the ones in danger save themselves.

How unfortunate.

Kurogiri and Shigaraki are talking to each other extremely loudly to make sure that everyone hears them. “Where is All Might Kurogiri! I thought All Might was going to be here, I was really looking forward to killing him!” He yells so loud I am sure the Americans could hear him.

I can give him an A effort at least, despite the poor presentation, the Heroes do seem to be believing him.

Kurogiri surrounded us and warped the students to their designated destinations.

I had placed everyone in the zone where they would be at their weakest: Mineta, as he's useless anywhere, and Tsuyu, because frogs are cold-blooded, in the icy mountains. Todoroki, Bakugo and Ojiro in the fire zone as you can't fight fire with fire, or ice with that matter, nor can you defeat it by hitting and punching (Ojiro.)

On top of putting everyone in areas were their Quirks are useless, there are thugs and other extras, all especially chosen for each of my classmates' weaknesses, in every single one of the zones to tire them out.

Finally, after Kurogiri had warped everyone away, he and I shared a nod and I pretended to fight him, almost winning, before he narrowly managed to warp me away to the shipwreck zone.

I landed gracefully on a rock a couple of metres behind the ship and watched in delight as Kaminari and Mina tried to figure out a plan to get out of their little situation.
You see Mina couldn't swim and if Kaminari got in the water...things wouldn't end too well.

Out of the corner of my eye I spotted Iida, who had been in the city zone, sprint out of the building at full speed to go and fetch reinforcements.

Perfect!

That means All Might is coming soon and we can finally put the specialised Nomu to use, which was still-thankfully-standing by Shigiraki's side.

I know about All Might's time limit and how it is slowly shortening. All those years ago (really it was only like three or four but anyway) when I accidentally found out All Might's secret he could spend about five hours a day in his muscular  form but now I estimate he can only do three. That was the other reason why we are doing this, to shorten All Might's time limit.

Deciding it was time I do something, I swim towards the boat and slipped on, unnoticed, and saved my classmates by creating a huge whirlpool that sucked in the opponents in the water and leaping to shore with them on my back. Oh the pain! My leg muscles are killing me now. However; no time to rest because as soon as I put them down, All Might came crashing in and did his usual annoying thing of loudly announcing his arrival. Like my ear drums are now ringing sort of loud.

I can only hope that the Nomu can kill him or remove his tongue at the very least.

•~•

Unfortunately not. All Might is alive, if exhausted, and still has his tongue in tact.

I must admit though the fight was pretty epic and just as I had wanted his time had been shortened by half an hour. And better yet Todoroki, Bakugo and I had helped All Might by slowing the Nomu down in the beginning, Todoroki freezing it in place and Bakugo and I keeping it busy. I made sure not to hit too hard; however, All For One would not have been happy with me.

I also managed to save Mr Aizawa and fought off some of the thugs while doing so, more positive light for me! And I even carried him back to the bus since he got badly injured and couldn't walk, Shigaraki obviously got impatient and set Nomu on him. I'm not too sure if I should be angry or happy with him for doing that.

Though I will have to thank Shigaraki, he did say his lines perfectly and acted the part, but he also added a bit too much of his own personality, but hey what you going to do? So what if the murderous and insane parts of him started to slip in, he still managed to convey exactly what we wanted him to, that he is a big child with dangerous toys.

That is how we want the Heroes to see the League, for now at least.

On the opposite side of things only some students were badly injured but no one was kidnapped, killed or placed in a critical condition. But the media was and still is all over UA for letting the students get hurt. So that's a plus.

We were told that we could have a few days off school so that we could rest but I know that they are actually trying to figure out how the villains got into UA.

So using the secret cameras and bugs that the mist Quirk user put in the board room, I am watching and listening to their meeting. I feel rather like a pervert if I'm being honest.

“So this is what we know. The newly announced League of Villains have made their goals clear, they want All Might dead.”

“They also seem to have access to lots of resources and that most of the Villains that were there were just low life criminals, who were promised a fun fight and money.” Nezu frowns as he hears this, not much useful information.

“But what about that thing that fought All Might?” Present Mic questions the detective.

“It's unresponsive but it is not like it won't talk... more like it can't or doesn't know how.” Detective Tsaukichi replies, unsure about his theory.

“Now that you mention it, the way the main villain talked; revealing its Quirks, his motives, his plan and how he bragged about it, like it was some pet or a new toy. Strange.” Thirteen speculated.

“Not only that but when we arrived on the scene, he started throwing a tantrum and also when he lost he just left, but he made a big scene while doing so. Like a big child.” Snipe added.

“So we are dealing with a man-child who has far too much power.” The Principal concludes, lacing his paws together.

“Who was he though? I have searched relentlessly, but he doesn't come up. That mist guy as well, their Quirks aren't registered.” The detective frowns in disappointment.

“The most important question though is how did they know that we were going to the USJ? Only a handful of teachers knew that Class 1 A were going and that All Might was supposed to be there. So how did the Villains know?” Midnight glanced around suspiciously at her co-workers.

“That is true, the only ones who have access to the 1A schedule is in this room. Other than the detective of course.” Mr Aizawa states, completely oblivious or perhaps impassive to what Midnight had implied.

“I may have an idea about how they may have gotten it. You all recall how yesterday the reporters got in to the school? I do believe that the Villains used that as a distraction, a cover, to sneak into UA and either get the information straight from the files or they were informed by someone in this school...” Nezu whispers, not looking at all pleased with his theory.

This Principal is smart, a little too smart for my liking. I'm going to have to watch out for him.

“That means there is a traitor among us!”

“Present Mic please lower your voice.” Midnight scolds the overly loud teacher.

Yes please, Present Mic stop with the screeching my ears are now ringing again!

“It's rather unsettling to think that one of our fellow staff or maybe even one of the students helped the Villains, it's rather far-fetched. I mean there are far more reasonable explanations.”

“Yes. All Might is right, there are far more reasonable explanations than one of our own betraying us, we must think of all the options before we jump to conclusions.” Principal Nezu says, trying to reassure himself more than anyone else.

I almost fall off my seat from mad laughter. They honestly think that there is only one traitor in this blasted school! There was no way in hell I could've gone this far all by myself.
