Chapter 38

"Get down!" Someone yelled out to their fellow caped crusaders.

The Heroes retreated either into the air or scrambled into a ditch.

To the left enraged citizens started to pound them with bricks and other things that lay around and some of them even used their Quirks. To the right were the prisoners and people of the Slums who were taking some sadistic pleasure and glee in beating up the ones who had ruined their lives and future.

It had officially been about two weeks since the 'fall of UA' as Toru had dubbed it, the fights and battles were increasing daily across the country.
In only about two weeks three cities had fallen and now was under the control of All For One who had finally, with my dad's help, perfected his serum and was now back to full strength.

Thanks to Twice, Toru and Kaminari almost all of the people who were trapped in the Slums and other camps had been released and managed to escape relatively unscathed, with only fifty of them killed which in comparison to the amount of people who escaped is a small, almost pitiful, number...

A punch to the cheek knocked me out of my pondering state, I glared heatedly at my opponent as blood slowly dripped from my mouth. I gave him a truly villainous grin as I powered up my quirks and knocked him out with a few swift punches to his pressure fighter, relied a lot on his Quirk and was terrible at close combat.

With a bored yawn I toss him into on of the many portals that Kurogiri had opened up and, with the help of his support gear, managed to keep going.

That's another pawn down. Even though we have already taken down their king-All Might, they are still fighting and are determined to beat us, mainly because of the newly promoted king, Endeavor, but no matter how hard they try and fool us, a queen can never become a king, but still that egotistical pain in the but still persists!

Oh, well he too shall soon fall, by the hands of his sons no less, how more theatrical can you get than that.

I let out a large yawn barely able to keep my eyes open.

"Dammit I overused them again..." I mumbled to myself and stumbled over to a pile of rubble.

Both my quirks have the draw back of exhaustion, Analyst tires out my eyes and gives me headaches while Dash drains me of my physical and inner energy.

I desperately search my pouches for energy pills or some type of sweet but to my dismay I'm all out!

Unbeknownst to me a rock comes hurtling towards my crouched and exhausted figure. Suddenly a surge of electricity shatters the rock into tiny pieces.

"Kaminari!" I groaned. He rushed over to me, muttering a dictionary of profanities in at least three languages. His hands are engulfed in a light blue glow and his fingertips crackled with electricity as they tentively brushed over my hunched figure.

I felt my energy slowly return to me and with Kaminari's help I managed to stand up.

"What's the situation?" I asked once I had gathered my bearings.

"Todoroki is in position and stage 2 is ready to begin on your command." Kaminari repeated tiredly.

"Send up the signal." I commanded and made my way to portal which led to safety.

He nodded and gathered a large amount of pure electricity into his hands and with a yell he released into the air, a blinding white beacon commanding us to retreat.

The villains, civilians and prisoners, much to the Heroes surprise and joy, stopped fighting when they saw the signal and instead turned around and ran towards the nearest rip in the air.

The Heroes decided to chase them all the way and maybe capture a few of them but it was no use they could not get a single one and when they came close to capturing one of the Resistors or villains a portal would swallow them up before they could lay a gloved finger on them.

When all the 'villains' and Resistors where gone and the Heroes were silently celebrating, a scorching, ferocious fire over took the buildings and burnt them down to ashes. The flames licked towards the clouds like the prisoners of hell freed. The Heroes stared wide eyed as the city they fought so hard for, burnt to the ground.

"Todoroki-San!" A young girl with bubblegum pink hair cried out to her saviour as he stumbled through the last portal, hair charred and clothes burnt around the edges.

She jumped into his arms and started  to happily jabber on and on.
"That was so cool! The way you controlled your fire was like a, like a Greek god or some Phoenix it was amazing. Do you think I could control my fire like that one day? You are the best..." on and on she chattered like a little squirrel over a bag of nuts, and with every compliment she so casually threw into her excited babble Todoroki's blush grew deeper and deeper.

Admiration shone in her dull, unseeing, black eyes as she clung to her hero.

"I think that's enough Tsunami-Chan, I believe he might explode if you compliment him any more." I chortle and sent a teasing look to the bright red fire and ice user.

She nodded understandingly and hopped down from his arms and waddled off, using the wall to guide her way.

"Aww does someone have a mini admirer." Toru gibed, poking at Todoroki's pink tinted cheeks. Her angelic face was alight with mischief as she teased Todoroki the entire way to the training hall. Kaminari and I did nothing to stop her instead we silently encouraged it.

We passed Toga, Dabi and Twice and I sent them a little wave which Dabi and Twice returned while Toga just scowled at the back of my head and muttered words which I did not catch.

I shivered a bit, Alpha Agencies loved their air-con a little to much in my opinion.
Kaminari soundlessly took off his jacket and draped it around my shoulders and pulled me closer towards him. I sent him a little smile of gratitude and snuggled deeper into his jacket. Toru smirked at this little display but continued to talk with Todoroki.

I didn't notice Toga's scowl deepen nor did acknowledge her heated gaze at the back of our heads nor did see her eyes shimmer with deranged thoughts and I would come to regret ignoring the twisting feeling in my stomach that I had as she stared us down and I would come to regret not turning around.
