7. Blast from the past-III
Continued...
Amba travelled so far in search of Pujaniya Bhagwan Parshurām. She crossed every river, mountain, barren and desolate places.
Lord Parshurām was one of the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, born in the earth to give justice and establish Dharma.
She was searching him for days but in vain. She has been non-stop walking, falling then again walking and falling and then again the process repeated.
Her dreams and hopes had already shattered. Her heart was already broken. Her body was devastating but her spirit was still intact.
She fell in a vale, but again she climbed up with all her might. The bone of her leg cracked. She crawled to the temple place and saw Bhagvan Parshurām.
She couldn't go to him so she cried to him.
Bhagvan Parshurām heard her painful outcry.
He saw her pitiable condition and made her healed. She 'Pranipaat' him.
Parshurām asked her. "Who are you Devi??? And why have you come to such a desolate place like this???"
Amba begged him, "I've come to seek justice, Bhagvan Parshurām. Everyone says that you have slain many Kshatriyas".
Parshurām told her. "On 21 occasions I've put an end to unjust and unethical people. I've put death to many Adharmis, annihilated them to put an end to their tyranny.
But I know that injustice can only be expunged by justice only. So I started training worthy people.
If any injustice have been done to you, Devi, then go to Hastinapur and say all your heart's pain to my worthy disciple Devvrat Bheeshma. He will definitely help you to get justice".
With an anguished cry, Amba said. "Bheeshma is the one who had done injustice to me".
Parshurām was stunned. "Impossible!!! For once, an ocean can go out of his boundaries but Bheeshma could never do the Adharma. Bheeshma can never do any injustice in his life. It's not in his character. There must be some flaw".
And with that he started leaving.
Amba was crying profusely and furiously. "He has done grave injustice to me. He has shattered all my dreams and left me to burn with agony. He had filled my life with misery!
You will have to listen to my plea".
Parshurām interjected, "if I see injustice in Bheeshma deed, then I will have to start doubting in my own knowledge. This is how much I trust my disciple. He will never do any injustice".
And with that he goes inside his temple.
Amba was yelling desperately. "You have to help me Revered Parshurām. You cannot forsake me. You have vowed to give justice to the world. I will not leave this place".
But he didn't budge.
Amba hopelessly was waiting for him to come and help her. And when he didn't come, her last ray of hope crumbled. She made a pile of woods and burn it.
Amba uttered without any hope. "Bhagwan Parshurām, you had taken an oath to help the oppressed of this world. You cannot forget your oath. You have turned a blind eye to give justice. That's why I shall immolate(Agni Pravesh) myself in the fire. You shall be held responsible for the death of a woman. You would accused of my death for your entire life".
When she was going to burn herself. Revered Parshurām came and concurred her insistence.
Parshurām asked helplessly looking at her pitiable form. "What do you want, Devi???"

Amba goes back to Hastinapur with a new determination in her face.
It was the time for birth of Royal princes Dhritarashtra, Pandu and Vidura.
Amba came.
Amba said haughtily. "I've come here not to take charity but to give charity to Mahamahim Bheeshma".
"What will you accept Gangaputra: Marriage or Death???" Rage has made her mad and furious at Bheeshma.
Showing a chhodamani for marriage and a knife for death.
"Lord Parshurām have summoned you Gangaputra". Amba told triumphantly to Bheeshma.
Satyavati hissed. "What do you want Amba??? Hastinapur is still open to welcome you as a family member??? Why are you wasting your life in meaningless struggle".
Amba retorted venomously. "what have you given my sisters Rajmata. Widowhood. Surrogated children. And imperfect sons.
I am awaiting for the happiness to come in my life when the glory of Bheeshma will shatter before my eyes. The anticipation is enough to make me alive".
Her frenzied eyes only held the gleam of Revenge. Bheeshma and Amba eyes fell on each other. The challenging stare she was giving him was unbelievable.

Bheeshma came to the appointed time.
When he saw his Guru Parshurām he walked to him for his blessings.
Parshurām stopped him.
Bheeshma said reverently. "I wish to take your blessings, Guru".
But Parshurām otherwise told him. "I have yet to decide whether or not you're worthy of my blessings. Because to give blessings to the sinner, one becomes accomplice to the sinner".
Bheeshma said that his life belongs only to his feet. He wasn't asking for it as a sinner.
"And if you think or doubt me as a sinner, I would myself have embraced death if my responsibilities and vow was not for Hastinapur. To create doubt in your heart against me is a sin for me, my Guru". Humbled, Bheeshma said in a choked voice.
Parshurām replied exasperatedly seeing his dear-to-heart disciple's wavering faith on himself. "When have I said that I doubted you, but to put rest to this young girl's apprehension on you, I've come here to take your test.
Fight a combat with me Bheeshma. And if you'd fulfilled your Dharma in every step of your way, I would never be able to defeat you".
Bheeshma questioned emotionally, "So would my Guru be defeated by me???"
Seeing the refusal in Bheeshma's eyes, Guru Parshurām Said those who are in the side of Dharma has nothing to lose.
Parshurām in an authoritative tone made him understand.
"To defeat in the hands of his disciple is an honour for the teacher, Bheeshma. Fight me Bheeshma". He challenged.
Just the way a slight stain stands out in a white clothes... Similarly an accusation imposed against a virtuous person is enough to plant seeds of doubt in society/world.
Take out your weapon and pick up your weapon Bheeshma, to end all the doubts leveled on you".
A furious battle started between Parshurām and Bheeshma.
The fiery rain of fire by Parshurām turned into a shower of flowers. Both were fighting fiercely.
Parshurām didn't spare his shishya. He fought to defeat him and Bheeshma fought not to let him win.
The shishya couldn't be defeated and the Guru couldn't be won.
Weapons after weapons were used against each other. Be it bow arrows, or Swords or his Parshu.
When celestial weapons were started using, the earth and sky started to shook. Bheeshma mother Ganga came. And she saw that their celestial weapons (Brahmāndastra) is going to cause the Mahāpralay, she prayed her deity God Mahadev.
Mahadev came and stopped their fighting.
Mahadev, the Trikaldarshi who can see anything and everything of any and all time, stopped them. "Stop now, Parshurām. Bheeshma has passed in your test. Stop this fight otherwise the whole world would be annihilated".
Amba cried. "Then how will I get justice Mahadev. Can I never would get justice. ??? How can you stop this fight. Lord Parshurām had promised me. Until I get justice lord Parshurām will fight this battle. I want to take Revenge against Gangaputra Bheeshma. I want to be the cause of his downfall. Lord Parshurām had promised me. Please". She begged Mahadev.
Mahadev spoke calmly. "Lord Parshurām promise will be fulfilled. But I can not give you this boon on the basis of revenge. Aiming at a higher goal, or for noble deed, if you wish for some greater purpose.
Your wish would be fulfilled and you would be the reason of his downfall".
Amba shook with rage. "Then I don't want to live. I shall be reborn to take my REVENGE!!!"
Bheeshma can feel her humiliation and pain, and he didn't want her to suffer from it.
"Expunge your heart of this bitterness, princess, and I promise you, when the day lord Shiva ordained will come, I shall lay down my weapons before you".
Amba eyed him loathing. "I don't want your generosity. I will not forgive you. After 25 years I'll be the reason for your downfall Bheeshma. You'd feel the exact pain and agony I felt. The way you have ruined my life you will never have a moment's peace. You will strive your day and night thinking about me. You wouldn't have any peaceful night.
And when your soul will be fatigued and you'd be dying even for an ounce of happiness, I will come and become your doom."
***
Amba left the battlefield but the battle inside her was not letting her live. She tried but couldn't.
She made a fire and vowed.
"I Amba hereby takes a vow to reborn and becoming the reason you live and die".
And with that she put herself in fire.
Shikhandini reverie broke. A tear drop come to her eyes.
"I hate you Gangaputra Bheeshma. I hate you".

Meanwhile in Hastinapur Gangaputra came out from his fitful slumber. He woke up with jerk.
Again that dream.
Guilt, anguish, and pain haven't left him yet. He blamed himself for the death of an innocent.
The echo of the sound he always heard was echoing louder tonight.
I hate you Gangaputra Bheeshma. I hate you. I hate you Gangaputra Bheeshma. I hate you.
