10. When Past met Future
Hii my lovely readers... 😍😍😍😘😘😘
Since you all were so excited for the update.. here is the one. 💖💖💖
***
Gangaputra Bheeshma was coming from the Pandit ji. He was walking through the corridor balcony of the upper floor, but suddenly the hem of his white angavastra get stucked on the nail of the sofa. It never happened to him before that his robe may stucked anywhere.
He was trying to pull it up without tearing the angavastra.
Two flower-girls of 13-14 years old were coming from the opposite direction. They were so busy seeing the glittery shine of the palace that they didn't see Mahamahim was in front of them. When Bheeshma pulled his angavastra with the jerk, one of the girl got scared looking at the giant man, like someone had boo-ed her. (boogeyman.. boo. .. that boo from the game if you remember.. ) and her flower basket was thrown in upward direction.
Bheeshma tried to get hold of the basket.
The girls had already run away, afraiding punishment.
Gangaputra hold the basket at the nick of the time but unfortunately an upturned basket get ahold in his hands. The flowers all went down.
Before he could see downwards, Kunti came searching of Her Taatshree.
Kunti told him. "Taatshree, all the arrangements have done. Please see if anything else is required or not".
She saw his torn angavastra.
"Taatshree, your angavastra is torn, please change it quickly, the Muhurat could be started anytime now".
And with that both were gone in their respective directions.
Poor Shikha didn't know if it isn't for our dear Taatshree; along with the flowers, the basket would have thudded her head and she would have opened her eyes in mental asylum asking where I am, who I am.
"Jiji, come naa!!!" Pachali said to Shikha.
Shikha went with her.
And saw Rajmata, now Mahamata Satyavati who was welcoming them.
Shikha's hand went automatically to the khanjar of her waistline.
Panchal queen Prahasti and mahamata Satyavati had good relationship which was not known by Shikha, as she had gone to Guru Parshurām for the major parts of her life to learn weaponry.
They were talking. And when Panchal queen saw Shikha coming, she introduced her to Satyavati who was smiling at her.
Prahasti introduced Shikha to the Mahamata.
"Mahamata, this my eldest daughter, Shikhandini. Shikhandini Pranipaat to Mahamata".
Shikha couldn't deny her mother.
"Pranipaat!!!"
Satyavati put her palm on Shikha's cheek "Ayushmaan bhav!!!"
Shikha was flabbergasted. She was utterly confused. What has happened to this shrewd and vicious lady. She didn't know what, but Satyavati was giving her a motherly look which she wasn't liking at all. We are enemies, dammit. Don't look at me like I'm your daughter or something.
A surly expression come to her face. Very good Shikha, she spoke to herself in mind. If this is the way your enemies started treating you, then how are you going to take Revenge.
Shikha was brought up in a loving atmosphere, and that her parents doesn't know anything about her rebirth, they had always treated her like a princess should be treated.
And she had always loved her family and her younger sister Panchali with love and care. The only part of her life that was sore in her eyes was the life of Amba.
They were all brought inside the palace. Many things had changed. Now the palace had a warm and cozy feeling. Strange. The fire of Revenge was diminishing a little just as she stepped inside the palace. What magic is it, she thought. Maybe it's because of the happy atmosphere.
Focus, Shikha, Focus.
Panchali dragged Shikha.
Shikha couldn't help herself from laughing. What a child Panchali is.
And what Panchali was searching just came in front of her eyes and she was awestruck looking at Arjun. She knew just by looking at him. Arjun too was awestruck and mesmerized by Panchali. For the first time he was out of words.
Shikha was amused seeing them both. She tilted her head towards Draupadi and muttered,
Shikha joked to Panchali. "Stop making out with him through your eyes Panchali. You are looking at him as if you're going to eat him raw".
She chuckled and the stare of love birds was broken. Arjun too was dragged by his brother.
Panchali pouted. "Jiji... You are too bad".
Shikha chuckled. "What!!! Me!!!" She Laughed, "you were the one doing something something(eye-effing) with Arjun".
Panchali rolled her eyes. "Jiji... Language... We are not in Panchal.. if someone would hear us... They are going to throw us from here".
Shikha chuckled. "Do you really think these 'Sukumar Baalaks' and some old grandfather are able of throwing us out???"
"Old grandfather????" Panchali asked raising her brows. "Jiji don't tell me you are harbouring the same feelings for some old man.. eww..."
Shikha held Panchali's ear playfully. "Panchali, you are getting mischievous day by day".
Panchali grinned.
Shikha chimed. "See, Subhadra is here. Go talk with her. I'll have a look of this palace".
Panchali was gone.
Shikha taking no non-sense military stance, went in search of Gangaputra Bheeshma.
Shikha muttered to herself. "Where are you Gangaputra Bheeshma??? I've been here for some time and you are hiding from me... Until when you'd be able to save yourself???"
She was searching for him here and there but he was nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly a boy dashed to her who was saying hurry up, hurry up, the ceremony is going to be started.
Shikha wasn't able to control her balance, it happened in a blink of eyes. She was whirled and collided to a hard wall.
Her nerves prickled in an awareness when she was gripped by strong arms and the wall turned into hard breathing chest.
She knew it was him. She was getting vibes, that she knew it was him. Only him.
It was Gangaputra Bheeshma.
This is the first time in both her births that she had come in contact with him. A spark flared.
She looked up at him. He looked down at her.
And she thought life is so unfair. If it had been fair, he would be old and ugly and fat, but no he has to be still young, oozing masculinity. A little rustic and roguish look had come to his face. Her stare stopped at his moustache. No. She hated it. This thing has to go.
Ugh! What she is thinking, it doesn't matter how he looks. She is here for a purpose.
Bheeshma was equally baffled to see the person standing in front of him in his arms.
He was about to say something, but something else come out of his mouth without thinking.
Bheeshma inquired. "Are you alright, Putra???"
Putra!!! Putra!!! Putra!!! He called me Putra, she thought Fumingly. She is definitely going to kill him.
"How dare you Gangaputra Bheeshma!!!" Shikha hissed at him.
Shikha has always dressed like a man in her life, but it's the first time she didn't like the affirmation that she is like a boy.
She pulled at her turban(head wrap) and shook her hairs.
Infuriated, Shikha spat. "I'm a girl, you moron".
Now Gangaputra Bheeshma was absolutely bewildered. Yep, he was right, she is a girl, then why did he called her that. Perplexed, he stared intently at the girl standing before him, wondering why her mere presence was enough to ignite a raging fire inside him. He, who has been cold as ice for every woman was caught off guard by this little woman who was spitting fire at him.
Stop it now, Bheeshma. You're Pitamah.
"My apologies, Devi". Bheeshma apologized. He spoke a little bit sternly. "And everyone here calls me either Mahamahim or Taatshree or Pitamah". Not. Moron". He emphasized.
Shikha spoke equally sternly, "You're neither my Pitamah, nor my Taatshree nor my Mahamahim, Gangaputra Bheeshma".
Bheeshma's eyes narrowed. "Still. Courtesy dictates you call me Mahamahim".
"Do you know who I am???" Shikha asked regally like a queen.
Bheeshma answered her nonchalantly. "One of our guests, I guess".
Now Shikha was actually fuming in anger. For 25 years, she had been thinking of him, she recognised him instantly. And he, as cold-hearted-b*stard he is, doesn't know her. Okay, he wouldn't remember her as Amba because she had changed so much, but he even don't know her as Shikhandini, that is inexcusable.
Lunatic-insensitive-jerk.
"Go to hell, Gangaputra". Shikha spoke, furiously annoyed by him.
And with that she herself was gone.
Bheeshma was standing there, looking at her retreating form.
He was baffled seeing this crazy woman whom he doesn't know. He has no explanation for his reaction towards this crazy-insensible-brat who had the audacity to call him by names.
'How dare you Gangaputra Bheeshma'. He had heard that statement from an altogether different source before. And now hearing it again from someone else was baffling.
And then another attention seeker come to him saying he is needed.
And with that he was also gone.
