This is my entry for the Open Novella Contest 2021. 

The prompt that spoke to me was #66: When you die, you come back. But you never come back the same. There's always a price for resurrection.

This story is set in 1910 and is related to my other neo-gothic novella, The Medium of Memory. This one features two new female investigators of the paranormal and deals with similar concepts of memory, the past, our personal histories, and the things that haunt us.
