Jihyo's Stupid Questions
The sun was setting over the prison, casting long shadows over the group as they gathered around the campfire, taking a rare moment to relax after a long day of work. The air was heavy with exhaustion, but there was a lightness in the group’s mood, thanks to a certain someone’s endless stream of bizarre questions.
Jihyo sat cross-legged near the fire, her eyes twinkling with mischief as she glanced around at everyone. She had been quiet for a while, but that usually meant she was thinking up something. Something that would either make them laugh or leave them utterly confused.
“So, uh,” she began, her tone light and curious. “Do you think the walkers get bored? Like, they’re just walking around all day, right? What if they want to do something else? Like... eat pizza?”
The group blinked in unison, all eyes turning to Jihyo, who was looking completely serious.
“Pizza?” Daryl grunted, furrowing his brows as he looked at her. “What the hell are you talkin' about?”
Jihyo shrugged, her lips curling into a playful grin. “I’m just wondering. They used to be people, right? Maybe they miss stuff like pizza. I mean, who wouldn’t miss pizza?”
Maggie chuckled, shaking her head. “Jihyo, that’s... kind of ridiculous.”
“Oh, come on,” Jihyo replied, still with that mischievous smile. “I can’t be the only one who’s thought about it. You know, maybe one day we’ll find a walker in a pizzeria, trying to grab a slice. Who knows?”
Carl, who had been quietly sitting beside her, looked at her with wide eyes. “That’s... weird, Jihyo. But I guess it’s kind of funny?”
“You have to admit,” Jihyo added, giving him a playful nudge, “it would be kind of funny if we found a walker just sitting down eating a slice of pizza like everything was normal.”
“Yeah, well, if we find one, I’ll let you know,” Daryl muttered, his eyes narrowing slightly as he shook his head. He couldn’t help but smile despite himself.
“Alright, alright, new question,” Jihyo continued, her eyes gleaming with amusement. “If you had to choose—would you rather fight ten walkers the size of ants or one walker the size of a house?”
Glenn snorted, clearly caught off guard by the question. “Uh... ten tiny ones? At least you could step on them.”
“Yeah, but what if they were faster than regular ants?” Jihyo challenged. “What if they crawled up your legs and got in your shoes?”
There was a collective groan, but they couldn’t help laughing. Even in the midst of all the chaos, Jihyo had a way of making them forget about the darkness for a moment.
“You’re out of your mind,” Rosita said, shaking her head with a smirk. “But I gotta admit, your questions keep things interesting.”
Jihyo raised her hands in mock surrender. “Hey, someone has to keep the mood light around here. I’ll take one for the team.”
“And what if you had to pick between fighting a walker or finding a hidden stash of chocolate?” Tara asked with a smirk.
Jihyo gasped in mock horror. “A chocolate stash, of course! No question. I’m not crazy enough to fight a walker when there’s chocolate involved!”
The group laughed harder now, the tension from the world outside the prison momentarily forgotten. Jihyo had this way of turning even the most ridiculous situations into something that made everyone smile, and in a world like theirs, that was something precious.
“Okay, okay,” she said, settling back against a rock and crossing her arms. “Last question—would you rather have a pet dog that’s a walker but still remembers you... or a regular dog that you can’t ever pet again because it’s too scared of you?”
“Jihyo, are you even hearing yourself?” Daryl asked, his voice tinged with amusement. “You’re seriously askin’ about pets right now?”
“Hey,” she replied, raising an eyebrow, “I’m just making sure we’ve got all our options covered. You never know what kind of world we’re living in.”
“Yeah, sure, but that’s a hell of a question,” Rick said, chuckling. “I don’t think I’m gonna get any sleep tonight after all these... scenarios.”
Jihyo’s grin widened as she leaned back, enjoying the laughter and camaraderie that she seemed to bring out of the group with her wild questions. In a time when everything seemed to be falling apart, it was moments like this—filled with absurdity and laughter—that reminded them all that they were still human.
“So, no one’s gonna answer?” Jihyo teased, her tone full of mock disappointment.
“Alright, alright,” Glenn finally said, shaking his head but still laughing. “I’d take the walker dog that remembers me. At least I’d know it’s loyal.”
“Not bad,” Jihyo said with a wink. “Alright, your turn to ask questions now!”
Daryl rolled his eyes but couldn’t help the smile that tugged at his lips. “I’m not answering any more of your stupid questions.”
The group laughed together, and for a brief moment, the weight of the apocalypse felt just a little lighter. Jihyo’s ridiculous questions weren’t just a distraction—they were a reminder that even in the worst of times, there could still be humor. And for that, they were grateful.
"Alright, one more," Jihyo said, sitting up and raising a finger. "Would you rather never laugh again or never eat chocolate again?"
Maggie raised an eyebrow, considering it. "Honestly, I think I'd have to give up the chocolate."
"I'd pick chocolate," Carl said firmly. "You can live without it, but laughter... that’s something you need."
The laughter continued into the night, and Jihyo, with her endless questions, reminded them all of the importance of finding joy—even in the apocalypse.
