Jihyo's Secret Snacks
The sun had started to dip behind the horizon, casting a warm glow over the woods as the group trekked through the dense forest. Rick, Daryl, Michonne, and the others were focused on moving forward, their minds on survival and staying safe. But one member of the group had been strangely quiet throughout the walk: Jihyo.
She always seemed to linger at the back of the group, a few paces behind everyone else. It wasn’t that she was slow or struggling; she just preferred it that way. As the group walked ahead, Jihyo kept her head down, humming softly to herself as she kept a steady pace.
Abraham, however, had begun to notice something odd. Every now and then, he’d glance over his shoulder to see Jihyo acting unusually. At first, he thought it was just his imagination, but after a while, he couldn’t ignore it anymore.
There she was, quietly slipping something into her mouth as she walked, her eyes darting around to make sure no one was paying attention.
Abraham’s eyes narrowed as he discreetly slowed down his pace, pretending to adjust his pack. He kept his gaze trained on Jihyo, trying not to draw attention to himself.
Sure enough, Jihyo was eating something. Something small. Something... delicious looking. She had a mischievous little smile on her face as she chewed whatever it was, clearly enjoying herself. But what caught Abraham’s attention was that she didn’t seem to be sharing.
"Is she... eating?" Abraham muttered under his breath. His brow furrowed, and he glanced around to make sure the others hadn’t noticed.
He couldn't believe it. Jihyo had been acting all sweet and innocent around the group, but now it looked like she was sneaking snacks without anyone knowing. He quickly glanced over his shoulder again, his eyes locked on her.
She wasn’t even trying to hide it. In fact, Jihyo even pulled out a small, crinkled bag from her jacket pocket and took another handful of what looked like homemade jerky. She chewed it slowly, savoring each bite, unaware that Abraham had caught on to her little secret.
Abraham, who had been known for his blunt, straightforward nature, couldn't keep it to himself any longer. He nudged Daryl, who was walking ahead of him.
“Daryl,” Abraham whispered, keeping his voice low, “look at Jihyo. She’s got some kind of secret stash of snacks and she ain't sharing.”
Daryl turned his head slightly, his eyes narrowing as he observed Jihyo, still walking behind them. Sure enough, Jihyo was nibbling on something and was smiling to herself like she didn’t have a care in the world.
“Seriously?” Daryl muttered. "How long has she been doing this?"
“I don’t know,” Abraham replied, his voice thick with disbelief. "But that’s some secret stash she’s got. And not a word to any of us. Look at her! She’s been acting like she’s struggling, but all this time she’s been sitting on a snack supply."
The two men fell silent, watching Jihyo in the distance. Every time she took a bite, she seemed more content, completely unaware that her little secret had been uncovered.
At one point, Jihyo pulled out a small can of soda—soda—and cracked it open, taking a long sip as if it were the most natural thing in the world. The group hadn't seen a can of soda in what felt like years.
Abraham’s eyes widened. "That’s just cruel," he muttered under his breath. "She’s got a stash of goodies, and she’s not even sharing with the rest of us."
“Damn,” Daryl muttered. “She’s got a good gig going. Maybe we should ask her how she’s pulling that off.”
Abraham shook his head, still staring at Jihyo. “I don’t know, Daryl. But if she’s got enough to keep sneaking snacks, we might need to ask her where she’s getting it.”
As they continued to walk, Abraham could see the others up ahead, unaware of Jihyo’s little snack routine. He noticed how everyone was starting to get tired, their energy starting to dip as they pressed on, but Jihyo was still walking at a steady pace, as if completely content. She even gave a small hum of satisfaction after finishing her soda, slipping the can back into her bag, and continuing her stroll with the group.
Abraham smirked, a bit frustrated but also amused by her sneaky ways.
When they finally stopped for the evening, everyone settled around the fire. Jihyo took her place beside Daryl, giving him her signature gentle smile. She still hadn’t shared anything from her stash with the group.
But Abraham was getting impatient. He stood up from the fire and casually walked over to Jihyo, crossing his arms with a grin. “Hey, Jihyo,” he called out.
She looked up, a little surprised by the sudden attention. “Yeah?”
Abraham couldn’t help but smirk, leaning down slightly so he was eye-level with her. “So, when were you gonna tell us about your secret snack stash, huh? What’s the deal with that?”
Jihyo blinked, her face a picture of innocence. “Snack stash? What do you mean?” she asked, feigning confusion.
“Don’t play dumb,” Abraham said, his grin widening. “I saw you eating back there, and I saw that soda you snuck out of your bag. You been holding out on us?”
The group went silent as they looked at Jihyo, waiting for her response. She giggled softly, not the least bit embarrassed. "Oh... that?" she said casually, pulling a small tin of chocolate from her bag and offering it to Abraham. “I just thought I’d keep a little something for myself. I didn’t think anyone would want it.”
The group blinked, shocked at how casually she admitted it. Abraham stared at her for a moment before bursting into laughter.
“Well, hell, you can’t blame me for thinking you were keeping all the good stuff to yourself,” he said. “But you know, sharing is caring, Jihyo.”
Jihyo just shrugged, her playful smile never faltering. “Next time, I’ll share. If you really want some.” She passed the chocolate around, and everyone grabbed a piece, albeit a bit amused by the whole situation.
From then on, the group learned to always keep an eye on Jihyo’s secret snack stash. No one ever knew exactly what she had hidden in those pockets of hers, but they were certainly curious to find out—just as long as she didn’t keep it all for herself.
