A little To Stupid to Die

The group trudged along the cracked highway, weary from days of travel and scavenging. The air was thick with the scent of decay, and every creak of the surrounding woods put them on edge. They were survivors—battle-hardened, cautious, and always on alert.

And then there was Jihyo.

She had appeared out of nowhere a few days ago, disheveled but strangely optimistic for someone who had clearly been surviving on her own. Her radiant smile and bubbly personality had quickly made her a curiosity among the group. But her actions… well, that was a different story.

---

The Incident

As the group approached an abandoned gas station, Rick raised his hand to signal a halt. "Let’s check for supplies. Stay close," he instructed, his eyes scanning the perimeter for any signs of danger.

Everyone nodded, moving carefully and quietly—everyone except Jihyo.

“Guys, look! A shiny car!” Jihyo exclaimed loudly, pointing to a rusted sedan with broken windows and flat tires. She clapped her hands like a child spotting a toy in a store.

Rick froze mid-step, his eyes widening. “Jihyo, keep your voice down,” he hissed.

But it was too late. A low groan echoed from inside the gas station.

---

Daryl’s Reaction

Daryl whipped his crossbow up, his jaw tightening as he glared at Jihyo. “Are you serious right now? Shiny car? That thing’s more dead than the walkers!” he snapped, his Southern drawl dripping with exasperation.

Jihyo blinked at him, tilting her head in confusion. “But… it’s shiny.”

Daryl muttered something under his breath, clearly resisting the urge to strangle her. “Stick to the group and keep quiet, princess.”

---

Glenn’s Reaction

Glenn let out a nervous laugh, shaking his head. “You know, I didn’t think anyone could top the stupid stuff I’ve done out here, but congratulations—you win.”

Jihyo pouted, crossing her arms. “I’m not stupid! I just… get distracted easily.”

“Yeah, that’s putting it lightly,” Glenn muttered, exchanging a knowing look with Maggie.

---

Maggie’s Reaction

Maggie sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Jihyo, honey, you can’t just yell like that. You’re gonna get us all killed.”

Jihyo’s eyes widened, and she immediately teared up. “I didn’t mean to! I just thought… maybe the car could still work!”

Maggie softened at the sight of her tears but still shook her head. “You’ve got to think before you act, okay?”

---

Michonne’s Reaction

Michonne, ever the composed one, simply stared at Jihyo with a look that could cut through steel. “Next time you feel the urge to yell about something shiny, remember this: it’s not worth dying for.”

Jihyo gulped, nodding quickly. “Got it. No more yelling.”

---

Rick’s Reaction

Rick sighed heavily, running a hand down his face. “We’ve been out here long enough to know better. You can’t be careless, Jihyo. This isn’t some game.”

“I’m sorry!” Jihyo said, her voice trembling. “I’ll be more careful, I promise.”

Rick gave her a long, hard look before nodding. “Good. Let’s keep moving.”

---

The Gas Station Fiasco

As they entered the gas station, the group moved carefully, searching for supplies while keeping an eye out for walkers. Jihyo, to her credit, tried her best to stay quiet… until she spotted a vending machine.

“Oh my gosh! Chips!” she squealed, rushing over to the machine and smacking it with her hands.

“Jihyo!” Carol whisper-shouted, her face pale. “What are you doing?”

“I’m hungry!” Jihyo whined, kicking the machine. The loud clang echoed through the building.

The groans of walkers grew louder, and within moments, three of them stumbled into the room.

---

The Aftermath

The group quickly dispatched the walkers, but the tension in the room was palpable. Everyone turned to look at Jihyo, who stood frozen in front of the vending machine, her face red with embarrassment.

“I… I didn’t mean to…” she started, but the words died in her throat under the weight of their glares.

---

T-Dog’s Reaction

T-Dog shook his head, letting out a deep sigh. “Girl, you’re gonna be the death of me. Literally.”

---

Abraham’s Reaction

Abraham folded his arms, a bemused smirk playing on his lips. “Well, if stupid could kill, you’d be the last one standing, huh?”

Jihyo’s eyes filled with tears again, and she sniffled. “I didn’t mean to…”

---

Carol’s Reaction

Carol, ever the motherly figure, placed a hand on Jihyo’s shoulder. “Sweetheart, we get it. But you’ve got to start thinking before you act. It’s not just your life on the line—it’s all of ours.”

Jihyo nodded, sniffling. “I’ll try. I promise.”

---

Dale’s Reaction

Dale rubbed his temples, looking more tired than usual. “You’re young, Jihyo, but youth doesn’t excuse stupidity. Out here, mistakes get people killed.”

---

Sasha’s Reaction

Sasha rolled her eyes, muttering, “How have you survived this long?”

---

The Group’s Collective Agreement

Despite their frustration, the group couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of affection for Jihyo. Her innocence, while maddening, was a reminder of the world they had lost—a world where people could marvel at shiny cars and vending machines without fear.

And so, they resolved to protect her, stupidity and all. Because in a world as dark as this one, maybe a little light—even if it came in the form of a clueless, overly enthusiastic woman—wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
