Blood
My jaws snapped around the fleeing stag. I heard the bone snap and the warm liquid running down the stag's neck and my jaws. The metallic scent and taste quickly invaded my nose and tongue.
" Nice catch Blood!" I stood up, holding the stag in my jaws still. A grey colored wolf padded up behind me. I gave a nod before starting to look around. The other wolves were gathering back around.
"Legs head back.. We've got enough prey for the pack." I barked, making sure it could be heard even though my jaws were muffler by the stag. I turned tail and started back with the rest of the hunting group following close behind.

I dropped my prey off at the center of the camp, letting my eyes roam around the area. Midnight was currently sunning herself and keeping her fur clean..? She hasn't been out on a patrol all day... Quite unusual considering she's one of the more higher ranking warriors... I trotted over, swaying my tail casually and dropping my leader like act that I had out on the hunt. 
" You need something, Blood?" Midnight asked as I sat down next to her, settling to lay down.
" I was wondering what you were doing.." I responded softly, gently nuzzling against her, " You haven't been out on a patrol all day.. And you're normally out on one at first light.." Midnight gave a huff, twitching an ear.
" Well, unlike you, I actually settle down."
"Huh..? What's that's supposed to mean?" I tilted my head to the side before a strange scent caught my attention. My eyes slowly trailed to her belly.
" You figure that out yourself." Midnight snapped, batting a paw at my nose, " Seems you have a general idea."
" You're having pups..?" I whispered, feeling my throat go dry.
" Yes, Blood. I am." I felt Midnight swat her tail against my side. " If you were here a couple of days ago, you would have known." I lowered my head a bit guiltily.
" Sorry... I had to–"
" You had to what? Chase after a wolf that already has a mate?" I flinched at my sister's tone. It wasn't out of terror, but out of anger..
" She's my mate.." I growled, lowering my ears, " Just because some dragon wolf swoops in to grab her doesn't mean that wolf is her mate.."
" Well, you clearly didn't see how she acted around him then." Midnight twitched her ear before turning her head away, " She's probably got pups with him."
" Pups with him..?" I felt my heart drop as she spoke. Would Luna actually do that..? I guess.. she has a point.. I never claimed her as mine... That scaled wolf could have... I lowered my head silently, resting it against my paws.
" Midnight.." I heard Fang speak up with a soft grumble as his steps padded over from the right. I glanced at him, dipping my head silently. " You holding up okay?"
".. Yes, I'm fine." I felt Midnight shift to sit up and nuzzle against Fang, " And you?"
" Don't worry about me, I'm fine. You're the priority right now.." I heard Fang give a content rumble. Sparing a glance towards them, I noticed he was sitting up taller as Midnight rubbed her head against him. A faint smile curled over his muzzle as he closed his eyes. " You're the one carrying the pups.."
" Well, Beta.. You're the one they look to when the Alpha isn't around.." I twitched an ear listening. I figured Tiger would choose him as his Beta, but at such a young age? He only recently became a fully grown wolf. Was it really wise to choose someone like him? Of course, I think he'd make a wonderful Beta, he.. just has a couple of flaws that could get in the way..
" Same goes for you.. You're Beta as well." Fang quietly glanced my way with a pair of half closed eyes as I stood up, turning to walk off without a goodbye.
"... That could be yours... She could be by your side, you know.." I thought, " Imagine it, her by your side.. Until death... No, beyond that... She could be by your side forever!" I glanced back towards Midnight and Fang, blinking a couple of times. I could almost see it now.. The two of us could go on hunts together, watch thee stars at night! The pups... Our pups could become legends! Oh, imagine my father's joy when he finds out! I blinked again, finding myself sprinting towards the medic's den and vanishing inside before I could stop my own paws. I looked around as I slowed to a halt. Hawk wasn't in sight right now.. He was probably busy helping Luna out.. I silently laid down at the edge of the den, curling up in the shadows to wait for them to come out.

Luna
I silently followed behind Hawk as he lead me to down a tunnel. We've made about four turns by now and taken the left path at an intersection somewhere in the middle of that. I lowered my head a bit as I felt my right hind leg start to ache. I closed my muzzle tightly as I shifted my weight to the left.
" So... Luna..." I glanced at Hawk as he spoke. His golden eyes gave off a faint light, illuminating his reddish brown fur and the streak of light fur that outlined his eyes, " Has Blood laid claim yet?"
" I'm sorry..?" I blinked a couple of times, feeling my tail fluff up a bit as it stiffened, " N..no... he hasn't.." I shook my head swiftly.
" Mm... That's a shame... He better be quick about it before some other male sweeps you away..He has to get your agreement as well.." Hawk gave a small smile as a low rumble, similar to a laugh, sounded. He turned away and continued to walk, picking up the pace. I looked away, lowering my ears.
"... I'm not sure.. If... I'm ready for it.." I admitted with a soft sigh, " I know it's true... He's my mate, but I just can't.." Hawk stopped in the tunnel abruptly. I slowed to a stop behind him, feeling the uncomfortable silence settle in. He duck down into a narrow crevice that hidden in the wall. I followed and was immediately greeted by a gemstone dangling from a string. Hawk lifted his head to drop it over my head. I instinctively lowered my head a bit to help. He waved for me to follow and gestured for me to stand in the center of the room. He walked off to a shelf, taking his human form.
" You see well in the dark?" I glanced at him again as he briefly turned his head to glance back from where he was searching for something on a shelf. " You seem well accustomed to the darkness."
" Yes actually... I am. I spent a lot of time in the undergrowth or in tunnels as a pup and while I was growing up." I nodded, " Hawk... If you don't mind me asking, Blood said you were like me, what does he mean by that?" I swished my tail quietly as I waited for a response.
" He means I was like you." Hawk walked back with a vile of some sort. He tugged off the cork screw. " Hold still." He took some of the dust in the vile before blowing it over my form. " A spy and assassin, well more of a spy.. I hear you were more of the assassin..?"
" I was supposed to be." I trailed off as I sneezed, jumping a bit. My ears perked up as I heard something coming down the hall. " Hawk... Are we the only ones here..?"
" Yes? We ar–"
" Hawk." A low voice cut him off as a pair of coppery eyes appeared at the entrance to the room. " What are you doing in here at this hour? I thought you vowed never to return?" I felt Hawk's tail brush against me, pushing me back before tapping against me twice. He wants me to hide? I narrowed my eyes a bit as I curled my tail into conceal the dark grey tip. I backed into the shadows a bit more, feeling something running through my veins.
" No reason, Kestrel.." I tensed, sinking my teeth into my cheek as I felt a sudden sleepiness fall over my mind. I heard Hawk talking with Kestrel but couldn't seem to focus on it as the sleepiness grew stronger. I felt my eyes fluttering close as I struggled to keep them open. Just as I snapped back to the present, I felt a sharp blazing heat rush through my form. I gave a stifled yelp as I stumbled a bit, shaking faintly. I heard the two stop talking and felt their eyes turn towards me. I bit sharply into my cheek as I struggled to control my body. I had to fall backwards not forwards. If I did that, he would notice! The last thing I saw was Kestrel shouldering Hawk aside as he rushed over to kneel beside me. Then everything went black as the blazing pain faded away as well.
