Chapter Three
Emily Woods
"Today's lesson to myself: Never ask you about your problems." He said and I rolled my eyes, "I'm going to my class before you start making me your punching bag!" He hollered as he ran away and I took breaths to calm myself down.
I started walking towards mine with the motivation that I'll concentrate on what Mr. Kilpert will be speaking instead of letting the tattoed man embrace my mind. Shaking my head I entered the room and took the third seat in the corner row. It seemed a perfect place for me, not too front, not too back.
The class is going to be harder to focus on as my best friend Brianna won't be here with me either. She got a different class but at least I'm going to meet her up at lunch. She'll listen to my rants, she always does. I flipped the pages of my notebook to see once till where he had taught us and I found the last notes I took was two months before. Shit.
I need to stop procrastinating things.
"I leave you for a year and you've become so naughty." Someone said into my ear and I jerked away from the initial shock. My heartbeat was increased and my eyes widened. I looked up to see Simon grinning at me.
I scowled at him as he took the seat beside me.
"Sit somewhere else, Simon," I told him and he smiled at me.
"I want to sit with my baby." He suggestively wiggled his eyebrows and I muttered profanities under my breath. I turned away and I don't know why I just don't wish to fight him.
'I'm not your baby.' I wanted to tell him but I kept quiet.
"Lily? What happened?" He asked me and I stopped breathing for a moment. It was only him who called me Lily. For an unknown reason, he loved to.
"Nothing, focus on your work," I said not looking at him and he kept silent. I don't know what expression he has on his face but the very next moment I felt him hold my wrist and making me stand, "What!?" I asked and he smiled.
"Come with me." He dragged us to the last seat of the same corner row and motioned me to sit inside.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I said and the next moment Mr. Kilpert entered and students immediately started settling down. I found my previous third seat was hurriedly taken by two boys and I groaned in annoyance.
Unwillingly I moved inside and Simon settled beside me.
"You look cute when you're frustrated." He stated and I punched his thighs under the table. He hissed and I stifled a laugh.
"You're mean." He stated and I chuckled at him.
"I told you to focus on your work," I said and he gave me a knowing smile, nodding to himself.
I started listening to what he said and today was the one unique day where I actually found it interesting what he spoke. He explained to us about the situation of women and black people back in history and I was actually quite engrossed in what he spoke but all went in vain as I felt Simon creeping his fingers up my thigh.
I cupped his hand with my palm and glared at him.
"What are you doing?" I hissed and he smirked.
"Focusing on my work. Pleasing you." He smiled and I gasped.
