Chapter 1

England was the bane of Bellona's existence. All that she knew how to do, she couldn't. Sword fighting wasn't appropriate nor should a lady get angry. Well, Bellona was no proper lady then because England made her very angry.

The only thing that made this a little bearable was all the braiding Bellona had done. Taught by centaurs, Bellona would braid her hair in different styles every morning for school. Some mornings, she would do this to Lucy and Susan too. Every day, Bellona wished she could go back to Narnia. Her home.

Bellona curled her lip as she pushed against the arms blocking her. Peter always said not to get into fights. It's the same reminder he gives her every morning while tying her tie. Yet, Bellona could only watch as Peter was getting shoved around by the other boys. Talk about hypocritical.

Edmund came shoving through, launching himself at another male. So he can get into fights too?! Cheering and shoving continued, only to be stopped by whistling. Someone rushed over to stop the fighting, yelling for the boys to break it up.

Bellona was finally able to get through, stumblings over to Peter as he was released by some grown-up. "Act your age!" The older male scolded the boys that had been fighting.

"So only you guys can get into fights?" Bellona crossed her arms, not looking at Peter.

Susan asked a question of her own before Peter had the chance to answer Bellona. "What was it this time?" Bellona chuckled, vividly remembering the start of the fighting.

He got up from his seat, taking a couple of steps before turning around to face them. "He bumped into me."

"So you hit him?" Lucy asked.

"No, after he bumped me, they wanted me to apologize."

"That's when Peter hit him," Bellona grumbled, refusing to make eye contact with Peter. She was ready to throw a punch, but Peter had said her name with that annoying tone. It was only used as a reminder that she shouldn't do what instincts told her to.

Peter huffed at something Susan was saying. "Don't you ever get tired of being treated like a kid?" He asked.

"Yes," Bellona immediately replied. After all, she was being treated like a child in a world she didn't belong in.

"We are kids," Edmund reasoned.

They weren't always though. The five of them used to be adults. The Pevensies were Kings and Queens of their own land. Bellona, while having the title of a Queen, would always travel on Kirke for anything that needed military representation. Every day she missed Narnia and Kirke. She missed soaring in the sky during sunrises and sunsets and relaxing in the blue ocean waters.

"It's been a year," Peter spoke with a defeated tone. "How long does he expect us to wait?"

"I think it's time to accept that we live here." Susan proposed. Bellona glared at the female for even having such a thought. There's no way that Bellona could spend her entire lifetime here. The clothes were annoying, the people were the worst, and the lessons! What use are they to her when she only knows that of sword-fighting and making battle plans?

"We are talking to you," Edmund told Susan after she had asked that they pretend to talk with her.

"OW!" Lucy shrieked, standing up from the bench that they were sitting on. "Something pinched me," she explained after Susan attempted to get her to quiet down.

"Stop pulling!"

"I'm not touching you."

Bellona could feel it. Something was pulling them. "Quick, everyone hold hands," Susan ordered once it became clear that magic had something to do with this. Bellona grabbed hold of Peter's and Susan's hands, cringing as a train flew past them.

The train station was flying past them. Bricks were flying off the walls and following the train. On the other side of the train, there were flickers of a scene. A peaceful beach. It called for Bellona.

They were all left standing in a cave as the train disappeared. Bellona stared at the white sands and blue ocean. It had to be home. She took off running at the same time as Lucy and Susan, forcing her tie off and kicking her shoes off in the process. She ran straight into the ocean, diving in before resurfacing and floating on her back.

Bellona closed her eyes as the sun peered down on her. Its warmth blanketed her face as the waves drifted her farther out. Nothing could wipe the smile off of her face.

"Bell!" Was all she heard before being splashed with water. Bellona jerked up, standing in thigh-high water. "We're back!" Peter smiled before pressing their lips together. They slipped from being wet.

"Yeah," Bellona nodded while looking around again. Part of her said that this was Narnia. She could feel it. It just didn't look like Narnia. An arm was wrapped around her, guiding her back to shore.

"I don't remember any ruins in Narnia," Bellona's gaze followed Edmund's, brows furrowing at the site of what he saw. Broken stone buildings. Well, the remainder of them. Trees were growing within whatever that building was.

They trekked up to the ruins, everyone separating to investigate what it used to be. Where she stood, staring all around her, something was familiar. Like, she was supposed to stand there.

Rubble slabs were in the center. Like they were the home of something grander.

"Don't you see?" Lucy called out, forcing her siblings in front of a slab. "Imagine walls," she told to Peter before moving to adjust Susan's placement. "And columns, there," she pointed to a particular spot. She finally took her spot. "And a glass roof."

"Cair Paravel," Bellona breathed, looking around at what was left. Many questions were swarming her head. What happened here? Where are all the Narnians?

Where's Kirke?
