Chapter 10 Faeverl

Hey guys! Ok, so this break, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go check out my other book, Hide But Don't Seek! It's literally drowning in a sea of books. Please, please, please go over there! Thanks so much! Enjoy, comment , vote! -Joann :)

I plopped down on my worn, but comfy, bed with a silly smile still plastered on my face from the day. As I stretched out and pulled the covers over me, Elyrianneth suddenly popped into my mind. Why? I don't know. But even though I tried to expel her shadow from my mind, I drifted into sleep with her still lurking in my head.

--The Next Day--

I peered over each of the dummies, debating whether I should choose straw, wood, etc. Hmmm...straw made a mess, but was pretty good in imitating the resistance of flesh, but had a weird stringy quality. Wood was durable, but maybe a little too durable...clay? Clay was the best in imitating flesh and bone, but it always left spots and bits on my grooved dagger that took ages to wipe off. As I mulled over my options, I didn't notice someone approaching me.

"Looking for a dummy?"

I whipped around to see one of Valinor's celebrated officers, Major Faeverl. He had pale, creamy skin like most elves, and had the lean build of our kind. His eyes were a shifting combination of a deep, purple color, royal blue, and a strangely cat-like green. His hair was a dusky blonde and was braided back like other elves.

"Yes, Major," I returned, bowing in deference. What was he doing talking to me? Faeverl was fought viciously over by almost every elleth in the kingdom.

"Call me Faeverl," he smiled, his eyes twinkling.

More confused than ever, I said, "I'm Tauriel."

"I know. I watched you fight before," he said mysteriously, but it wasn't a stalker, creepy sort of mysterious. "Your fighting is impressive. Would you like to go have tea with me? I have some questions on your fighting technique," he offered lightly.

My cheeks burned, and as much as I tried to fight it, a smile crept onto my blushing cheeks.

"Sure."

--Normal POV-----

Clenching her fist, she watched as Tauriel and Faeverl laughed together in the small cafe. Tauriel reached forward to pour some more tea, but Faeverl stopped her and poured the tea himself for Tauriel. He leaned forward to talk to her, his cup of tea evidently untouched.

No, no, NO! How could it have gone so wrong? How? Tauriel...she'll pay. She'll pay, for not only has she taken Faeverl, who was- no, is - meant for ME, her little friend...well...let's just say they're both dead.

OOH! Who could that be? Elyrianneth, come from the Halls of Valor to haunt her? Drop a like and check out my other book for a shoutout!
