Chapter Six: Sending The Message
Malia's Pov
After the surprise proposal Wyatt set up for me we all decided to stay out there for a little while longer since none of us were tired.
Not to mention we're on break so we didn't have to worry about classes.
Emily ended up waking up from her nap and Wyatt had gone to get her and brought her out here so she could join the rest of us.
When we told her the news of Wyatt and I being engaged she was ecstatic and hugged both of us tightly, not wanting to let either of us go.
A few hours had gone by and everyone decided to call it a night.
It was getting pretty late and everyone was beginning to get tired.
When Wyatt and I said goodbye to everyone and they left we went to put Emily to bed.
She tried to argue with us saying that she wasn't tired and wanted to stay up watching T.V but we told her she needed rest.
That little girl was clearly still tired because the second her head made contact with her pillow she was out like a light.
Wyatt and I simply laughed in amusement before giving her a kiss goodnight before leaving to our room.
Well, I left to our room to get ready.
Wyatt said he was going to clean up and make sure everything was tidy downstairs before joining me.
I was currently in the bathroom putting my hair into a bun after I got changed, washed my face and brushed my teeth.
Just as I was done I looked down at my hand and smiled at the engagement ring that was on my finger.
I still can't believe it.
I can't believe that I'm engaged to the guy that I love.
I can't believe that I'm getting married to the guy that I love.
I can't believe we're soon going to spend the rest of our lives together.
I brought my hand up and gently kissed the ring before leaving the bathroom after turning off the lights.
I climbed into bed just as Wyatt walked in and went straight to the bathroom, no doubt to get ready since I was sure he was just as tired as I was.
I took out my phone and decided to just look through a few things and play a few games before going to sleep.
Besides, I can't sleep without Wyatt.
A few minutes had passed and the bathroom door opened just as I set my phone down on the bedside table so it could charge in the middle of the night.
I smiled when Wyatt entered the bedroom wearing a simple white shirt and black sweatpants.
"Hey, babe" I smiled at him.
"Hey, baby. Why are you still awake it's getting late?" Wyatt asked.
"You know I can't sleep without you" I reminded him.
Wyatt chuckled and nodded before walking over to the bed causing me to scoot over in order to make some room for him.
"Well, thank you for waiting for me. As always" Wyatt smiled.
"You're welcome. Is Emily asleep?" I asked.
"Yeah, I checked on her before coming here. She was out like a light" Wyatt told me.
"And she said she wasn't tired" I laughed while shaking my head.
Wyatt chuckled before shrugging his shoulders.
He then climbed into bed with me and once he was lying down I immediately snuggled into his side, bringing my arms to wrap around him.
Wyatt didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around me, holding me close, as he placed a kiss to my forehead.
Wyatt extended an arm out towards the lamp and turned it off so that now we were in the dark.
"Goodnight, baby" Wyatt whispered.
"Goodnight, babe" I whispered back.
My eyes fluttered close and I found myself drifting into a deep slumber.
Hours Later
Something was wrong.
I had woken up at around 3am and I had a hard time falling back to sleep.
I tried to tire myself out by playing a few games but that didn't work. I tried closing my eyes, wanting to let myself fall asleep, but that didn't work either.
Sometimes I just stared up at the ceiling but, once again, that didn't work.
Which is why I decided to get out of bed and head downstairs to eat a snack.
Being really quiet I slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake up my fiance, before getting up.
I put on my slippers before quietly leaving the bedroom, closing the door as quietly as I could.
I made my way to Emily's room and opened the door a little. I smiled softly when I saw my baby girl sleeping like the little princess she is.
I quietly closed the door and made my way downstairs.
When I got downstairs I made my way into the kitchen and turned on the light.
I made my way to the refrigerator and opened it. I looked around before my eyes settled on some leftover Chinese food, there wasn't anything else I wanted so I just decided I would eat that.
Closing the refrigerator I walked over to the kitchen counter and set the Chinese food down before opening it.
I grabbed a fork and began munching on the food, sighing in delight at how good it was.
I would've heated it up...
But I was way too lazy for that and I really wanted something to eat.
Just as I was eating my Chinese food, something came to mind.
Now, you must be wondering, what's on my mind?
Well, the thing is...
I miss Auradon.
I know that the whole reason I left was to get away from Ben and Mal after they both betrayed me, mainly Ben since he left me for her.
But, I miss my old home.
Trust me, I don't regret coming here. If I never left I would've never met my Addison, my new friends and, of course, Wyatt.
They all have brought me happiness and that's something I will forever be grateful for.
But, I miss my parents. I miss my friends, fairy godmother and my sister.
Old memories are beginning to resurface and it's hard to push them out of my head when they keep coming back.
That's basically a sign to show just how much I miss my old home.
Because despite what happened that made me leave, it's still the home I grew up.
I let out a deep sigh and stopped eating, running a hand down my face in exasperation.
My eyes wandered down to my locket and all of a sudden...
My eyes widened and I facepalmed, hard, while groaning quietly.
Oh my god, I'm such an idiot.
My locket is literally out of magic. It's basically magic itself.
The only reason I was able to get to Seabrook was because of my locket, no doubt, and the only reason I survived that day at Prawn when helping the werewolves get their moonstone out was because of my locket.
This locket is filled with all sorts of magic.
Such as healing, communication, teleportation, etc etc.
And with that in mind, an idea formed into my head.
I touched my locket and smiled. I can use it and send a message to my mother, telling her I am coming back, and then I can use my locket to help me go back to Auradon.
Remind me to really thank my mother for giving me this.
Taking a few deep breaths, I touched my locket and made sure to concentrate as best as I could.
"Send a message to my mother, Aurora. Explain to her how I plan on coming back and I'll be bringing a few friends with me" I whispered.
Soon my locket began glowing bright pink and it lasted for a few seconds before fading away.
I smiled and internally prayed that it worked.
Just as I was about to go back to eating I felt arms wrap themselves around me from behind.
A smile appeared on my face as I immediately knew who it was.
I turned my face around and smiled at my fiance who was standing behind me while hugging me.
"Why are you here and not in bed with me, baby?" Wyatt softly asked.
I giggled, shivering slightly due to his breath fanning me a little, and snuggled into his arms.
"I couldn't go back to sleep so I came down here to eat something" I told him.
Wyatt hummed before letting out a sigh, "I was worried something happened to you when I didn't see you in bed".
I shook my head and leaned in to give his cheek a gentle kiss.
"No need to worry, babe, everything's fine" I reassured him.
"Good" Wyatt nodded, a small smile appearing on his face.
I grabbed a handful of some of the food with the fork and offered some to Wyatt who immediately ate it.
I chuckled before inviting him to eat the food with me and he agreed since, no surprise, he was hungry himself.
He grabbed a fork for himself and the two of us sat down on the stools and ate together while talking, cracking a few jokes and laughing from time to time.
When we were done we threw out the empty box before washing our forks.
Just as I put my now clean fork away a yelp escaped my lips as I found myself being lifted from the ground.
I looked to see Wyatt picking me up and carrying me bridal style.
"Come on, beautiful. Time to head back to bed" Wyatt told me.
I giggled before nodding in agreement as I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face into his chest.
Wyatt chuckled before kissing my forehead before beginning to walk out of the kitchen, making sure to turn off the light.
Just like that the two of us made it back to bed and this time we were able to fall back asleep.
But my mind was still on the message I sent to my mother using my locket.
I really hope it worked and that she gets it.
