Ezra's P.O.V

Everyone rushed into the medbay except for me. I stayed at the door with my arms hugging myself not sure what to do when I saw the bundle in Hera's arms. Everyone seemed joyful that the baby arrived expect for me. I just felt plain awful to have Hera go through having a baby.

I felt like I didn't belong. Like I'm not needed. Almost replaced.

That's when the thought came to me. Was I going to be replaced by the baby? Was Hera and Kanan going see how much trouble I am when they find out that I wasn't strong enough to avoid this?

More and more questions came to mind and each of them made me feel worse.

That's when I heard Hera say that she would love the baby with all her heart. That's all I needed to know that I'm not important and left locking myself in Zeb and I's room.

I climbed the ladder and laid on my bed burring my face in the pillow. Soon I hear a door open and think that it was just Zeb. "So when were you going to tell us?" Sabine's voice said. I rolled over to face the artist who was leaning against the doorway arms crossed.

"Tell you what?" I asked confused.

"That today's your sixteenth birthday," she said and I was surprised. I was about to ask until Sabine read my mind. "How do I know this? Well let's just say that the information on your parents came with more than just them," she said. I shut my mouth in utter shock. Sabine gestured for me to follow her and I reluctantly did until we arrived at the common room.

No one was in there except for the two of us. "Take a seat," she said points at the round table. I did and raised an eyebrow, "What are you up too? I don't want to be bothered right now," I said sadly looking at the table.

I continued without realizing that Sabine turned on the holotable. "Aren't you supposed to be treating the baby?" I said almost muttering.

"Ezra..." Sabine started then gently said, "Look what else I found."

"Look whatever you want to show....me..." I trailed off when my eyes gazed upon a picture of me and my parents.

"Mom...dad..." I said my hand hovering over the picture of us.

"Happy birthday, Ezra Bridger," Sabine said and I didn't realize she left me by myself. A smile graced my lips as a tear trailed down my face. "Thanks, Sabine," I said wiping the tear off of my face with a lump still in my throat.

I sighed saying to the picture, "I wish you both were here."

"Ezra, can you come to the medbay?" My comm whistled with Kanan's voice. I turned off the holo and put the chip in my pocket carefully then headed to the medbay. I didn't want to go in and see Hera nor Kanan but also didn't want to disappoint the two.

I entered the medical room to see Hera and the baby sleeping. Kanan was looking at a hologram that Chopper was showing. The holo was a cylinder like object as it spun slowly. "What is that?" I asked curiously forgetting any emotions that I was feeling before.

"It's a tracking device that can track a ship through hyperspace," Kanan said. I was shocked because there were never any sort of tracker that could detect through hyperspace. "Luckily it's on the hull of the Phantom," he continued, "You and I are going to take a little road trip to the asteroid planet."

"The one with the nastys," Sabine said walking into the room.

"Yep," Kanan confirmed. "Why are we going there exactly?" I said referring to him and me.

"The Inquisator can sense us making the Ghost a vulnerable target with an exhausted pilot and baby," Kanan explained, "Sabine, I need you to watch the Ghost while we are gone."

"Alright," she said unsure of the plan. Even, I was having my own thoughts about how this plan was crazy yet, he was right. "Ok, but of all places why the asteroid?" I asked.

"I'll explain on the way there," he said heading towards the Phantom with me on his trail. "Right, cause you think I won't handle the answer and get on the Phantom," I muttered.

"I don't think, I know," he said sitting in the pilot's chair of the Phantom.

"Wait, are we detaching in hyperspace?" I asked. My answer was confirmed when he said, "Strap in and hang on."

I clutched the sides of the seat until my knuckles turned white. When Kanan detached, my world became a spinning of colors until things straightened out. "There...that wasn't so bad," he said while starting the engine.

"For who?" I asked trying to stop my spinning head. We were off through space to the asteroid with the nasty creatures that almost ripped my face off last time I saw them.

I stood up walking over until I was standing behind the pilot's chair. We were here. My hands wouldn't stop shaking as I nervously stuttered words to reassure myself. I was scared out of my mind knowing that right outside the Phantom those 'things' are watching and lurking in the shadows. Their eyes that revealed the same yellow and coldness of the inquisitor.

A shiver ran down my spine. "Alright, let's go meet our 'friendly' neighbors," Kanan said standing up and heading to the Phantom's door. "Kanan, I don't think I can do this...I'm afraid," I said shuddering as we were getting closer to exit the ship.

"Well, let me tell ya kid. Admitting you're afraid makes you braver than most," Kanan told me laying a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Let's just get this over with," I said.

He opened the door and we both went out. I saw him climb the Phantom to take the tracker off leaving me with the monsters.

I could tell they were getting closer. I reached my shaking hand out and kept frantically repeating, "Connect with the force." Nothing was working and the creepy critters were getting to close for comfort.

"Ezra, what are you afraid of! Is it them?" Kanan shouted standing next to me.

"N-no," I stuttered with realization.

"Then what? What are you afraid of?" Kanan asked.

"I'm afraid-I'm afraid of being alone again!" I yelled letting it off my shoulders. It felt good to finally tell someone as I relaxed connecting with the creatures. A gentle hand laid on my shoulder as Kanan promised, "You'll never be alone. Not ever again."

I believed him.

Yet, I was about to learn that some promises couldn't always be kept.
