Chapter 2: Who are you?
(Toga's view)
The next morning I woke to find Aviva curled up between myself and Krysta. I smiled and kissed her cheek softly which caused her to giggle in her sleep.
"Aviva, come on sweetheart, it's time to get up." I said, as she stirred then sat up and smiled at me.
"Morning father," she said, and I smiled as I scooped her up.
"Good morning, do you want to help me with breakfast?" I asked, and she nodded eagerly.
"What are we making?" she asked, and I thought a moment then smiled.
"We're making blueberry pancakes, does that sound alright?" I asked, and she squealed.
"Yummy!" she cried, and I laughed as I set her down.
"Father?" she asked, and I hummed in response as I mixed the pancake batter in a bowl.
"There's some creepy people at the door." She said, as I stopped mixing the batter then picked her up and made my way to the front door.
"Good morning, sir. we've come for the girl." One of the men said, and I shook my head.
"There's no way in hell that I'll let you take my only child from me." I growled, as I clutched my daughter closer to my chest.
"The hunters association president gave us orders." The red haired man said, as he took a step toward me.
"Well, I don't give a damn about what the hunters association ordered. I won't allow you to take my daughter from me." I said, as I held Aviva close with one arm and with the other held my anti-vampire gun.
"Get out of my house and away from my daughter, before I hurt you." I hissed, and the two men gulped before hastily retreating back the way they had come.
